[Cooker] Add a Builuires to gimp
Hi Fred, we discussed this yesterday, but in case you were busy and forgot, the package chrpath should be added to the gimp BuildRequires. I had a jpeg that I was trying to cut a small portion of it, but gimp was failing miserably. I rebuilt the package, reinstalled all the newly recompiled packages, and it worked fine. I'm not going to guess what caused that behavior. Blue skies... [Cooker] kernel-2.4.18.16mdk and gcc 3.1 w/ athlon architecture
I might be a little rusty with my C programming, but I seem to remember that you can't have a function within a function as in the file /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-16mdk/arch/i386/kernel/setup.c at line 1049, the "#ifdef CONFIG_X86_USE_3DNOW" block. I'm assuming that this problem only occurs when the processor type is set to an AMD processor (i.e. Athlon/K7,etc.). I think moving that block out of the setup_arch function should fix the problem. Re: [Cooker] kde3.0.1 menus messed up
I haven't upgraded, yet (still on 3.0), but I did notice that there are different ways to start 3.0.1 that give you different KDEHOME. One way uses the previous .kde3, the other uses .kde Check to make sure you are using the directory where your settings are (you may need to copy them over). However, when I installed it, I got the register session error (mentioned in a different thread, and I don't remember the resolution). I think I'll focus on one package problem at a time... ;) I am more familiar with IMP 2, and was wanting to see how the latest and greatest php/IMP combo works before I upgrade my users. This is also the first time I'm trying to benefit from others' work and use precompiled packages. Previously all my web and mail apps/servers have been compiled by me. So I'm trying to "mimic" my current production server using packages. So it's a learning/testing curve. One quick question, just curious: A week ago I was using IMP3, but I found squirrelmail (also in Cooker contrib) and it's *much* better, if all you need is a webmail (and the address book works out of the box :o). [Cooker] Klama (compil.mandrake.org) down? (amavis-ng available to test)
I have the following packages to put into cooker contrib: Amavis-ng = http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/SRPMS/amavis-ng-0.1.3-1mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/SRPMS/perl-Config-IniFiles-2.27-1mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/SRPMS/perl-Convert-TNEF-0.17-1mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/SRPMS/perl-Convert-UUlib-0.212-1mdk.src.rpm (Amavis-ng supports most MTAs and virus scanners, with no compile-time configuration necessary, just runtime configuration of /etc/amavis/amavis.conf, and can be used with Postfix's filter - instead of the dual-postfix setup required for amavis-0.2.1). Binaries for 8.2 are available at http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/ Grass = http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/grass/grass-5.0.0-0.pre4.1mdk.src.rpm http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/grass/gdal-1.1.7-1mdk.src.rpm Binaries for 8.2 at: http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/mandrake8.2/grass/ But, it seems compil.mandrake.org has been down since yesterday, and our new cooker mirror (ftp://ftp.sun.ac.za/mandrake/mandrake-devel/cooker/i586/Mandrake/base/) hasn't synced yet ... so I don't have any other place to build ... In the meantime, I would appreciate testing of the amavis-ng package. I have tested with Postfix/Sophos, I would like to have feedback from someone who uses one of the other MTAs (Sendmail, Qmail, Exim). [Cooker] kpersonalizer hangs
Hi. Yesterday I setup a system using current Cooker. In this, I also installed KDE and now updated to kde 3.0.1 from Cooker. Everytime I start KDE, kpersonalizer wants to start. Sometimes it comes up all right, but most of the time it just hangs. It displays the window, but with no content :( Any ideas?
