[Cooker] Printer test page
Hi all, one quick question: Since the name of the distro has changed from Linux Mandrake to Mandrake Linux and almost everything has been modified to reflect this change, shouldn't the logo on the printer test page be changed too? Just a minor detail. Cheers, Atha

[Cooker] mandrake_desk dependencies
Would it be possible to divide the mandrake_desk package into three subpackages? These would be kde, gnome and common. The reason I say this is that I (and I am sure I am not the only one) use exclusively KDE. After a fresh install I try to clean up my system and remove gnome apps. But I cannot remove gnome-libs or control-center because mandrake_desk depends on them. For a 100% KDE workstation this isn;t very logic. Waht do you think? Cheers, Atha
[Cooker] Drakboot
Hi, after launching drakconf and invoking the boot config, clicking on the configure button for lilo/grub does nothing. Launching drakconf from the console the following errors are seen after clicking on the configure button: No such pseudo-hash field "hds" at /usr/lib/libDrakX/any.pm line 92. Compilation failed in require at /usr/sbin/drakboot line 25. Cheers, Atha
Re: [Cooker] Gnomemeeting
Hi Florin, I downloaded it an it installed ok but no matter how a run it (with or without the -a option) it crashes. The output is: Assertion fail: File ../common/contain.cxx, Line 892 Null pointer reference bort, ore dump, gnore? Even if you choose ignore it crashes displaying the gnome crash dialog. Any ideas? Rebuilding the RPM didn't help. It runs ok for Vincent though? Re: [Cooker] limiting access
You can run their shell in restricted mode. If the user's shell is bash then the restricted counterpart is rbash or bash -r. The user wont be able the move outside his home dir. For more info see the man page. Cheers, Atha On August 9, 2001 04:18 pm, you wrote: > Hi All, > > The small distro link was exactly what I think that I am look for. Re: [Cooker] Strange kernel 2.4.7-10mdk problem -- can't surf the web
Do a "echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_ecn" and see if everything works ok. If this is the case, and in order for the setting to stay that way during future reboots add the following line in your /etc/sysctl.conf file: net.ipv4.tcp_ecn = 0 Cheers, Atha On August 8, 2001 12:22 pm, you wrote: > Thanks for the reply here is the output of your suggestion: > > > [root@b5 msh]# sysctl -a|grep ecn > net.ipv4.tcp_ecn = 1 > [root@b5 msh]# > > Chmouel Boudjnah wrote: > > msh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > > > I have a multiboot machine (windows 2k, kernel 2.4.3-20mdk (stock > > > kernel from installation CD's), and 2.4.7-10mdk(compiled with AMDK7 > > > optimizations but no other changes from default)). > > > > sysctl -a|grep ecn > > > > give you ?
[Cooker] Re: [CHRPM] rpm-4.0.3-0.18mdk
After upgrading the rpm packages I get the following error every time I try to run rpm (install, upgrade, erase, rebuild database, etc.): rpmdb: Program version 3.3.11 doesn't match environment version 3.3.4 error: db3 error(22) from dbenv->open: Invalid argument error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Invalid argument (22) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm What now? [Cooker] apt
Hi, as somenone (don't remember who), those of us used to actually using apt for package management, find our selves addicted to it. Is there any possibility that it can be rebuilt against the new rpm? (Already tried with no luck) Thanks in advance, Atha
Re: [Cooker] Re: [CHRPM] kernel-2.4.5-7mdk
Try with: modprobe mod_quickcam It is under /lib/modules/2.4.5-7mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/quickcam Cheers, Atha spyn inc.
