[Cooker] SB Live! PCI Audio Card
Does the oxygen-3 ISO contain support for the SB Live! PCI audio card? Please let me know. I thought there was a post stating that it indeed does. Thanks. James Jennison

Instead of giving you every single file, I will state that it did this for every single package I had installed on the system. I don't pretend to understand why it is doing this, only that it is. Also, when I upgraded, it asked me if I wanted to keep my current IP configuration, and I stated "yes". However, when I went to download the cryprographic packages, I got this error: * resolved ftp.sunet.se in * warning: Net::FTP: Bad peer address ...propagated at /usr/bin/perl-install/ftp.pm line 41. When I finished the install and rebooted my system, I also noticed that the upgrade had re-written my network settings, so that they defaulted back to localhost.localdomain. Any reason why this happened? I thank you for your time, and I do apologize for writing such a long book. James Jennison Network Administrator Allanon Internet Services

Does anyone know if the Lexmark Z11 series printer is supported under Linux? Please get back to me. Thanks
RE: [Cooker] problems downloading
Why not download the ISO and make a CD instead? That might solve a lot of problems...if it's an option. -Original Message- From: Jeremy T. Finke [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, December 27, 1999 3:12 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Cooker] problems downloading Is everyone having problems downloading the oxygen or is it just me. I have probably tried to download the dist 100 times since Thursday with 4 different ftp sites. I keep getting errors and it downloads some files and then it deletes (unlinks) other files... Whenever it tells me that there are no more files to download then I try a network install. I can get as far as the second stage and then it craps out and tells me it is unmounting everything and rebooting. I can download the second stage. I am using mirror, I have not had a problem with it before. Here is my configuration file: package=mirror comment=The Mirror Package #site=rpmfind.net site=ftp.sunet.se #site=csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu #site=sunsite.uio.no passive_ftp=true remote_user=anonymous [EMAIL PROTECTED] #remote_dir=/linux/MandrakeCooker/oxygen/ remote_dir=pub/Linux/distributions/mandrake-devel/oxygen/ #remote_dir=pub/mandrake/oxygen/ #remote_dir=pub/unix/Linux/Mandrake-devel/oxygen/ # This setting of local_dir is suitable for Un*x local_dir=/mirror/mandrake/oxygen Any helpful hints would be appreciated! RE: [Cooker] First report from a upgrade Mandrake 6.1 -> Mandrake 7.0
I must also concur. The install process was extremely slow for me, however, I love the new GUI interface. This has made it easier for me and my roommate (who knows nothing about Linux) to install it on both of our machines. I hope to keep seeing these improvements over time as Mandrake continues to grow and develop. James Jennison Software Developer I e-CommLink, Inc. As far as easy linux installations go Mandrake passes even RedHat. My only problem with Mandrake is it doesn't run on a 386. :( When it came to setting up PPP Mandrake was easy. :) Hope to see that it remains that way, like there is any doubt ;). Jae

Will do :) Hopefully I can get this thing working in the next couple of days, because I feel nekkid without the GUIjust kidding. I know the Creative site has a beta driver for the Savage4 card, but I am not finding it to be useful at all. I am having problems getting X to work with my video card. I have a 16MB Savage4 video card, and X detects it, but when I try to start the X server, it won't load properly. Any suggestions as to what I should do? James Jennison Software Developer I e-CommLink, Inc. [EMAIL PROTECTED] (713) 402-1221
