[Cooker] Wine install

2000-11-07 Thread Jim Fritz

When I try and install wine, it fails at the point where the config file
is set. It states:

/usr/X11R6/bin/wine-config: test: too many arguments
sed: -e expression #1, char 28: Unterminated `s' command

Any suggestions?

The product in the shop is the 7.2 final. The ISO on Internet is 7.2
final +updates and could be call something like "7.2-27/10 edition". In
x weeks will do a new ISO/tree with all the updates and it would be
either 7.2 with a new build date - we are not going to call "final" each
last build. All the updates for MandrakeUpdate are going to be targeted
to the 7.2 of the shops.

If this is true why are the KDE2 rpms not in the update directories?

I do have one more question though. Is there somekind of limitation,
that keeps some modules un-available during install? I could understand
a size limitation for a floppy install, but what about the CD install?

Solution: Use your own custom kernel together with the floppy image blank.img.

The custom kernel must contain every driver needed for the installation, not

 a boot floppy using blank.img by using dd if=blank.img of=/dev/fd0 if /dev/fd0

vmlinuz is the file name of your custom kernel.

be carefull to include support for initrd!

Or maybe there are already some instructions on using blank.img, that I
have not been able to find. I don't mind RTFM, if I can find it.

Re: [Cooker] Compiling procps-2.0.6-12mdk.src.rpm fails

2000-04-21 Thread Jim Fritz

I am not a guru, so I am not sure if what I did was right or not but it
does now build. What I did was add the following line to the spec file:

  bzip2 -9f $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/usr/man/*/*

I just looked at the differences between the 5mdk and the 12mdk spec
file. Was I wrong in adding this line to the spec file?

Finding Requires: (using /usr/lib/rpm/find-requires)...

This doesn't make sense to me since:

/bin/sh exists
/bin/sh is a link to /bin/bash (which also exists)
/bin/sh and /bin/bash were installed by RPM
I can build procps-2.0.6-5mdk.src.rpm with no problems at all.

 Does anyone have a suggestion?

Chmouel,

The output from rpm -bl procps.spec for both the 5mdk and 12mdk source
packages are exactly the same (other than the output listing 5mdk and
12mdk).
