[Cooker] Re: [CHRPM] kernel-2.4.23.0.1mdk-1-1mdk

2003-11-19 Thread Torstein Dybdahl
Hi!

The pwc driver needs to be updated.
http://www.smcc.demon.nl/webcam/release.html#pwc8.12
This new version adds support for the logitech sphere camera.
And other newer webcams.
Also

The phillips.txt file in
/kernel/Documentation/usb/
is very old.
There is a much newer one inside the pwc-8.12 tar.gz

Does anybody else se the same problem?

This is with up-to-data cooker.

The problem came with the last oppgrading of the libvorbis rpms.

normal mdk 9.2 has no problems.

/me paws at Per.

FWIW and as a reminder, Mr Karlsen has previously expressed an objection to
being called "Per". I don't understand what I believe to be language and
culture based references, but as best I can figure, it would be the
equivalent of calling someone named McDonald here in the US, simply Mc.
More like that. Per Øyvind would be the double first name, and Karlsen
would be the family name.

For none norwegians this can be difficult to grasp.
My name is Torstein Hernes Dybdahl, where Torstein is my firstname, and
Hernes is my mothers familyname, and Dybdahl is my fathers family name.

So here is a contradiction.
I Norway it is no en to the number of firstnames. People can have like
five firstnames and several familynames.

ex.
Leonora Victoria Teresa Maria Mette Hansen Ellefsen
{Leonora Victoria Teresa Maria Mette} firstnames
{Hansen Ellefsen} family names
regards Torstein
Either that, or calling someone simply Mister, without a name. I'm not sure
which, but am sure he prefers folks not use just the first three letters.

Re: [Cooker] gkrellm - no more update ?

2003-06-14 Thread Torstein Dybdahl
Have made SRPMS for cooker of gkrellm 2.1.12a

there is also an updated version of gkrellm-plugins

There is a stange requirement for gkrellm-plugins

perl(Finance::Quote)
i am not able to find this in cooker or contrib
is there nolonger such a package?

the updated gkrellm is at

http://snuppa.mine.nu/mandrake/cooker/gkrellm/

If someone could uploade it and check out the specs.

There is a hardcoded path in gkrellm-2.1.12 due to problems with
packaging of the file pkgconfig/gkrellm.pc
got error message from rpm, it wouldn't find the file in the right path
had sort of double path
exm
path/to/lib/path/to/lib

Not sure if it is a bug in the rpm or the spec file.

Hello, everyone.

I'm wondering about not having the latest gkrellm in cooker:
  - current cooker gkrellm is 2.1.7a
  - latest release available is 2.1.12
any chance to have the newest release ?

[Cooker] tetex and addtiona packages

2003-06-07 Thread Torstein Dybdahl
Hi!

I was wondering if it was a good idea to make rpms of the different
styles and fonst. etc the latex packages
from CTAN.

My idea was to make a sort of tetex-contrib package with different
styles, fonts etc taken from the CTAN misc and contrib
archive.

Many of the packages have missing install information and may be for a
beginner in Latex difficult to use. By providing as many as possible
packages and style, etc for LaTex, Mandrake could become the best Linux
distribution for LaTeX users.

I am not sure if the best place for the Latex packages would be in the
Tetex-rpm or in some sort of Tetex-contrib rpm.

I' am willing to make such an rpm, but need input in the best way to
solve this.

Input on this would be nice.
Especially if this is a good or bad idea?
Of technical issues.
Do you have some input on how to register new packages in the global
tetex environment?

Some tips on how to best solve this?
