Your problem is described and there is even a workaround available. However, this is still in Wiki errata, which has only a small link at the end of the official errata page, so you might have missed it. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/Mandrake92 About pwcx.o, I've tried myself to insmod it (Philips D740 webcam), it failed because kernel used a different major gcc version. One needs to hope that the happy owner of the proprietary code might consider recompiling it. Could not find an email address on pwcx.o official website though. 2. It maybe had about 1 application or 2 per folder. Nothing crazy... I just loaded up menudrake and took care of it but that might be something to look at. One needs to relaunch update-menus as root when that happens. There is a problem when rpm %post scripts call it, it seems. [Cooker] !! 9.2 issues -- help
Hi I just installed 9.2 and I have a few problems. 1. I have a Logitech Quickcam for notebooks pro and I've been using it since 9.1. In 9.1 it recognized it and used the pwc module. My Linksys WPC11 v3 wireless card does not get configured properly. It does recognize the orinoco_cs module that it needs and even make the ifcfg-eth1 script but I still had to do the hermes.conf hack to get it to work. --- this step is on my website under tutorials. maybe take care of this for mdk 10? 4. I have an inspiron 4000 with a rage mobility 128 w/ 8MB or ram. It says i can choose X with 3d hardware acceleration but when i try playing a game it is slow...very slow so tuxracer and chromium or just not playable. i tried running other games like frozen bubble. Although they do play I'm not sure why they don't fullscreen correctly. I see the screen change modes but the game picture is in the center and not full screened. It happens with alot of applications that I fullscreen. Mplayer when I fullscreen does the same thing... screen changes modes but the picture is in the center still small. However... KMplayer uses mplayer and fullscreens correctly. any ideas about the 3d acceleration and fullscreening? any help would be great. thanx :) -- Adrian Rodriguez University of Southern California Computer Science http://www-scf.usc.edu/~sergior

Hi Adrian, Don't want to hurt you at all, but You are a naughty boy !!! Have you read All what your mother didn't tell you about using Cooker mailing-list ? ;-) See http://www.mandrakelinux.com/fr/cookerdevel.php3 : Several bugs are also reported and discussed directly on the Cooker Mailing-list. Before reporting a bug this way, please search the Cooker mailing-list archives for this bug. It's generally not a good idea to report bugs to the Cooker mailing-list directly. If you want to become a good boy, the first thing you should do before posting is to check if your problem had not been bugzilladed yet (http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/). Your problem is reported at least 5 or 6 times and a workaround is given. More generally, when you have a problem, give more details if you can : version of softwares involved, hardware you have (mobo, cpu,..), options or configuration info, logs (well significant part of) if you have some,.. : in your case the kernel (for the webcam), XFree SDL OpenGL (for your pb nr 4) version is important. Ok, this said, your 1st pb is probably due to snd-usb-audio module bug (search webcam http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/) and adding it's name in /etc/hotplug/blacklist is the workaround. You also should test the last kernels (kernel-2.4.22.17mdk-1-1mdk) : recent changelog deals with that.
