http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5441 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-12-09 15:24 --- 9.2RC2 begins install without USB mouse response/detection. This is with both a logitech MX-700 and an optical MSIntelliMouse on an Abit AT7-MAX2-based PC with PS2 keyboard. Using the keyboard I had to explicitly select a USB mouse where it seemed to want to look only for a serial mouse. (There hasn't been a difference in previous versions to my memory (at least as far back as 8.0) and USB mouse has always been automatically identified as a serial mouse.) On subsequent restarts, the MS mouse no longer works (haven't tried the MX-700). This might well have been since I tried a suspend to disk from the KDE menu which went spectacularly wrong itself - currupted video memory/system freeze with no response from NumLock etc. System is home-rolled AT7-MAX2 tripple-boot. Keyboard is PS2. Other USB devices attached are the lead for a cheapo nisis digicam and a SonyEricsson P800 cradle. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: During the installation, I have seen two different cases : * On the HP D530 machine, I have a full USB set. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5441 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-11-09 22:37 --- I confirm, the USB mouse support is broken. I also got a USB keyboard but it got detected right, although, straight before the mouse declaration screen, the installer crashed, this is on 9.2rc2. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5441 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-10-09 04:44 --- I tried doing an install tonight from my local cooker mirror using hd.img and my usb keyboard and mouse were not recognized by the installer. I plugged in a standard ps/2 keyboard at the same time, and was able to load the installer. Once the installer was running, the usb keyboard and mouse were detected and activated eventually. I have a KT-400 based board. I am currently downloading rc2 and will test to see if this bug exists in a cd install. -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: During the installation, I have seen two different cases : * On the HP D530 machine, I have a full USB set. http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=5441 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-10-09 06:12 --- Okay I tried again with a ps/2 keyboard plugged in as well as the usb keyboard. Strangely enough, with the ps/2 keyboard plugged in, the usb keyboard worked. I rebooted into the installer again with the usb keyboard only and it did not work. I did not see any kernel message sin the console. I am thinking that this is before the kernel usb interface is loaded as my mouse is not lit up yet and it would be relying on the BIOS usb keyboard support. My BIOS is set to USB keyboard support on, so I am not sure what is going on here. Anything else I can do here to help troubleshoot? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: During the installation, I have seen two different cases : * On the HP D530 machine, I have a full USB set.
