Luc--- I'm sorry you got shot down the way you did.

Please don't stop being a beta tester.  Beta testers are what makes a great
distro release, and you are appreciated! :)  I'm sure Andrej just had a bad
day. :(

Mandrake website suggests to report bugs to that list. If for that Ihave to fix all the bugs I find in the beta releases I will stop"playing" with the beta releases and let the developpers do their testsand debugging. I am prepared to install beta releases and I am expectingsome problems but not to do developping/debugging. By the way I neverconsider reporting bugs as "ranting and wining" but if it is the waythat list sees it let us, plain beta testers, know as we have a life andsomething else to do (and at work too).Luc

What bug? I have just added FTP source without any problem.

It may be that site is busy (as is sunsite.uio.no now). I agree that not
showing error message is not nice. Can you suggest how to do it given
that we may use two completely different download programs?

It may be that firewall does not allow incoming FTP DATA connections. I
am not going to debug anybody's stupid firewall setup. If somebody does
not know that FTP requires incoming connection it is not my problem. If
you _do_ debug it and _does_ turn out FTP DATA problem - please tell so
and I look what can be done to add "need passive FTP" to urpmi/rpmdrake.

It may be that you have proxy that needs authentication. Yes, it is
currently not supported.

It may be something totally unrelated. In this case please, debug and
tell us what the problem is.

It is development list. People are expected to debug there problems and

coming here ranting and wining. There are enough other places for it. Or

Same here. That error is running since beta 3. Hope it will be fixed
before General Release.

And I will try to have more "_verbatim_" output but has it is an old bug
reported by many I would have thought that it would be fixed now.
