You will be in trouble if you want to burn DVD, though, cdrecord has a special
version to burn DVD, but the author does not give much information about
that one, and seems to sell it $100, I asked him if he will gpled it but
no answer.

At present (shame on me), I must use windows to burn DVD, but I will try to
figure out a better solution post 8.1.

that's doesn't matter a lot for harddrake.
most of the time, it is cdrecord that deal with that, and most of the time it
do it well.
so don't worry. Just use an app that can deal with CDRW ( eroaster, xcdroast
) and burn it

The pro-suite will have a DVD version inside.

With the new mkcd2, it just a matter of medium size parameter, 680 MB
for CD, 4480 for DVD.

mkcd2 --discsize 47 -i ./ -a -c 1 /cooker/

so it would be just a matter of
1 rsync cooker ftp
2 run the above command line
3 remove fully bootable disc from drive and use
cool ( slightly off topic but how does one setup a cdrw in Mandrake
{HardDrake sees the drive as a cd drive})

Exactly how flexible is the rpm list on the mandrake install set?
IE if i somehow had a DVDR and wanted to burn a full copy of the Power
Pack
would it be easy to set up??
also if during detect DrakeX? finds multiple cd drives (with media) why
doesn't it
try to use them?? (Redhat is rigged that way)
