None of the 2.2.17 kernels up to -13mdk have gone past
the partition check on my box ... 2.2.16's & 2.4.0's
work fine; however, I reordered the ide controllers
such that the promise is ide0 & ide1 and the mobo is
ide2 & ide3.

I have tried 2.2.17's with and without the +2
addresses, with no luck. That, and the fact that
2.2.16 and 2.4.0 both work with the +2 addr leads me
to beleive the problems is some where else.
