I think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find out
that you can go login right now and try it out (which
I think was the purpose of his e-mail).

Then, why don't you pick a few of the cooker regulars,
and mail them directly inviting them to join early to
test the system?

As a Bugzilla maintainer, I need to ask:
1. Will you be returning the code changes back to mozilla.org? If possible,
as patches diff'ed against current CVS would be great.
2. If the answer to question #1 is "no", I'll gladly take your hacks and see
if they are applicable to Bugzilla 2.12...

I doubt those patches are usefull for main code, they are very specific to
our version and needs. But yes, they will be available ASAP .

If you are willing to do it, I'd be glad to send you our source code.
But it is based on an OLD bugzilla version. Before some major
changes in bugzilla.

[Cooker] QA - About problem tracking

In fact, the problem-tracking system has been used internally for some time now.
For different reasons, we were no able to open it to the outside world as soon
as we wanted to, and believe me, the whole QA team is looking forward to this
day, because it will help a _lot_. In fact, it will give us a direct channel
to the outside world, with formated/directly usable data. The holy graal !

For the impatient, here are some details :

- The system is based on bugzilla, but with majors code changes
- An email interface has been added, but will not be available right away
to the outside world, beacause it still needs testing and improvement.
- The system will be available only through https (SSL), in order to limit
security problems (passwords, cookies, etc ...)
- An account on the system will be required to use it, but the creation process
is as fast a filling a form and receiving a login/password pair by email a
few minutes (seconds ?) after. Of course it is free, and code source will be
available upon request to anyone. I say "upon request", because the hacks in it
are too ugly for me to shamelessly broadcast it on the net ;-)

On the QA side, some other tools are comming within next months. So stay tuned ;-)

Estimated opening date for cooker geeks : Next week.
Note that the system opening will _not_ be widely advertized for now, the time
for us to make sure it is working, handling the load. Also the time for us to
fix the bugs that will be discovered during the first times ;-)
