well... I am using the latest ppp package and still has problems (?)
I use to configure my ppp conection right in linuxconf, so it could be executed at
start
time (boot time)
use to have 'activate interface at boot time...' well it doesn work... (not in cooker)
works in helios 6.1
I am using kppp to connect to the net in the mean time,
I have a dedicated phone line connected 24/7 to the internet.
so I prefer to start my connection at boot.

Yes... youe right it is in /usr/bin ;-)

ok here what I found so far... the permissions for apache have changed, it can start
httpd

1.- httpd
Ouch! ap_mm_create(1048576, "/etc/httpd/logs/mm") failed
Error: MM: mm:core: failed to open semaphore file (Permission denied): OS: Permission
denied
Aborted

2.-I also can not access dmsg (can be fixed easily ;-)

3.-Nov 26 00:09:34 rhg in.ftpd[4826]: warning: /etc/hosts.deny, line 3: can't verify
hostname: gethostbyname(localhost.localdomain) failed
Nov 26 00:09:34 rhg in.ftpd[4826]: refused connect from 127.0.0.1
Nov 26 00:14:01 rhg in.ftpd[5017]: warning: /etc/hosts.deny, line 3: can't verify
hostname: gethostbyname(localhost.localdomain) failed
Nov 26 00:14:01 rhg in.ftpd[5017]: refused connect from 127.0.0.1

all this are easily correctable, I just want to let you know about them.

This is not related to security, but I would like to learn where is the config file to

Nov 27 14:55:40 rhg pppd[530]: Connect script failed

4.- this in the logs related to httpd permissions
Nov 27 14:55:41 rhg httpd: Ouch! ap_mm_create(1048576, "/etc/httpd/logs/mm") failed
Nov 27 14:55:41 rhg httpd: Error: MM: mm:core: failed to open semaphore file
(Operation not permitted): OS: Operation not permitted
Nov 27 14:55:41 rhg pppd[530]: Exit.

May I suppose this is what is missing in my most recent instalation of cooker (?)
every time I run KFM I got an error message /etc/bin/hwiz can't find...

Chmouel what has changed, now I just can't open (mount) hdb1
and I can noticed many other folders are available for root only.
is got something to do with msec (?) and 'security' ?

Thanks!

try

% /etc/security/msec/init.sh 2

(or 3), it should be better
