ATI doesn't seem to give a crap about us - at least nvidia writes their drivers and does a pretty good job for linux, I'd be happy if ATI didn't just dump their work off on someone else and hope it got done. Well, I'll give a shot on 1 of them and see what happens. ATI did do the linux drivers for the 8500 but still leaves rest for others. Since 7.2, before this release of X, I have been quite pleased with the performance I got from all my ATI cards, either when using the stock XFree driver or the Gatos.
