Check with: # ifstatus -v eth0 # mii-tool -v eth0 Do this both while you have a cable connected, and while disconnected. Some drivers know they can't tell you, some think they can ... but can't. Add "MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=yes" to your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0, this should get done by drakconnect if you run it, or during installation (it did for me). But IMHO it should still be possible to check this using the exit status of ifstatus so this setting is not necessary. Ryan, Try adding MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=1 in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 -- Quel Qun <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
[Cooker] ifplugd message: ETHTOOL_GLINK failed
After upgrading to the latest cooker I have observed the following: Whenever I try to start networking with "service network start" or "ifup eth0", the following shows up in /var/log/messages: Feb 21 23:26:12 xxx ifplugd[2659]: ETHTOOL_GLINK failed: Operation not supported "ifup eth0" would say "check to see if cable is plugged in" (or something like that). The only way I could get networking to work was to run dhcpcd directly. Does anyone know what's going on? I am synched to the cooker as of about 6 hours ago. -- Ryan T.
