[Cooker] mail preprocessors SysV start numbers

2003-10-12 Thread Tibor Pittich
today, i instaled postfix with amavis-new, spamassassin and clamav
support. postfix have number 80 as starting reference, same as
spamassassin and clamav. amavis-new have 79.
imho, it will be more clean if all mail preprocessors are started before
starting mta and optionally before amavis.

what are you think about this?

Yes. The same goes for mysql and postgresql, they should be started long
before the others like snort, samba, etc.

[Cooker] Cooker Mail Server Problem

there must be a problem on the Mandrake end. Just FYI...

Re: [Cooker] Cooker mail archive

2002-06-05 Thread David Walser

No, that'd be the wrong place. Look at Mandrake's
front page again. The Cooker stuff is not under
Support Mailing lists, but under Developers Lists
( http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/fdevlists.php3 )
and the link is there.

The text there is misleading though, it makes it
sounds like Mandrake took over archiving at the turn
of the year and mail-archive doesn't do it anymore,
and of course Mandrake's archive isn't searchable, so
until the last time I heard Andrej moaning at someone
to search the archives, I didn't know mail-archive was
still keeping up.

I actually do use /bin/mail and I believe the files that it create in /tmp
are never this long ... looks like a file which you put in mail queue.

Can you please try to use interactive mode (if you can't handle it set the
visual editor to vi or something) and see if you can create a file in /tmp,
and then after you are done assuming htat you are using vi press wq and then
a plain dot (.) to send the mail.

If you can create the initial mail body in /tmp, but when you send it says
that there is an error it probably mean that the mailx package is not to
blame.

[Cooker] Mail, ADSL, CDROM (writer) long post

Hello All,

First off, i know some of these queries to follow have been hashed out
all-ready, but presently my mail system is totally messed up, plus no
search available in Kmail, hence my first question...

Can someone suggest a robust mail client , available in X, with the
features of say netscape composer, search, threading etc, that i might
try...

ADSL,

To the Mandrake developers, on the web site you are looking for testers
of your ADSL setup, i'm available for that if u like

CDROM, cannot acces, even in root CR-4802TE

my fstab,

/dev/hdc1 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/hdc5 /Linux ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/hdc6 /Storage ext2 defaults 1 2

conf.modules, ( this i have been trying some of the suggestions posted )

post-install supermount modprobe scsi_hostadapter
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
pre-install plip modprobe parport_pc ; echo 7 /proc/parport/0/irq
pre-install pcmcia_core CARDMGR_OPTS=-f /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia start
alias eth0 ne2k-pci

if there is something i'm missing please let me know, i will send it
in...

oh yes, 1 more thing, best way to download the updated Oxygen , ( have
iso3 ) fast connection if possible, tucows is stopped at 50 k

A i have said, i realize these have been delt with already, and i
appolagize for re-hashing this stuff, but i would apprieciate any help
