RE: [Cooker] Problem with Beta3
That is correct, those are two different drivers. Drakx doesn't list the driver modules for those cards supported by the two drivers. The detection software finds the controllers but no modules are available. I will be trying a cooker install that I made today and see if it is any different. On the other Mandrake versions 7.2 and 8.0, the drivers would be listed with the scsi controllers. If you need any other info, let me know. I tried ftp.free.net and it's some weird site in Moscow. Anyway, try "rpm -qp *" in the RPMS2 directory of the ext iso. I'm betting you get a bunch of "does not appear to be a RPM package" errors. -- David Hart Vincity Design *Proudly sent from Linux Mandrake 6.1*

I haven't seen a list of any other mirrors with the iso's, but I would think that if the two main mirrors have bad iso's, then the original is bad. Pascal Grosse wrote: Hi list, I downloaded the 2 isos of mdk 7.1beta3 from ftp.free.fr I got some problems : the install program failed to read my second CD. At first i thought of a burning error, but the second time the same bug did appear. So i took a further look at some files on the ext cd. For example xxgdb-1.12-15mdk.i586.rpm was not found to be a valid rpm archive by rpm. I downloaded the same file from an ftp archive, and it looked correct. The 2 files had exactly the same size, but when i edited the iso version with hexedit, i found that it was completelly filled with null bytes ! I looked at many other files, and found the same problem, but not on all. The same behaviour occured also when i mounted the iso as loopback, so i think it is not a burning problem. I redownloaded the iso a second time, and the md5sum test was correct. Has anybody else met the same problem ? Pascal Grosse Yep, I experienced the same problem. Second cd files bad, wont install.
