we've a "CTL0044" card in our isatable but it's a "Creative Labs|AWE64
Gold".
anyway, it needs the same module.

the module but i already know it's sb.
is your card "Creative Labs|SB32 PnP Audio Device" with "CTL0031" in
/proc/isapnp ?

this is the pb. currently, drakx only autodetect & configure pci,usb
and pcmcia stuff though pcitable, usbtable and pcmciatable.
there's also an isatable for harddrake.
with isa /proc related entries and this table, we might make drakx
autodetect such isa cards.
Francois ?

not related to the problem

I never knew drakx even tried so i didnt elaborate.
Upon fresh install, no associated modules are loaded (sb,awe_wave,
assoicated options for io,dmabuf,sfxload,isapnp).
I don't know how closely this is related with mdk since 2.4 having weird
and random isapnp trouble (I must search through archives to find old
bug reports).
Running sndconfig though has absolutely no trouble whatsoever detecting
"Model: Creative SB32 PnP:Audio"
Any other info I would gladly give. If drakx does normally attempt to
set up sound card, then i would ask others with this problem if they
have isapnp cards or those that once were alsa only...

I have aproblem. I recently installed linuxconf. When I boot with
init=3, the linux entry seems to ignore it, but failsafe works. (I new
XFree86 RPMS seem yo be at fault). Anyway, when it gets to Linuxconf,
Linuxconf sys "Unable to validate root of /etc/fstab. Reason: /dev/snd,
no such file or directory." What would /dev/snd have to do wtih
/etc/fstab? I have an emu10k1, so I don't think I'm using alsa, but if
Linuxconf requires I set it up, forget it.

is the wrong module associated with your card ?
what's the problem ?
we cannot do anything with problem report such as "it doesn't work" or
"i've to manually configure it"

what's wrong ? not detected ? wrong module ?

How do you set up at ALSA sound card (was RE: [Cooker] Sound Card Detection)

2000-01-03 Thread Jeff Duska

I tried to use Lothar to config the sound card in my machine. It showed that
something had correctly found the card before. It is a Cirrus Logic
4614\22\24.

I tried to setup with the "Run ...", but I get an error message box that it
can setup a ALSA card at this time.

My dumb question is how do I get my sound card work in the mean time.
