Hello, At the weekend I updated to initscripts 4.97-9mdk, setup 2.1.9-4mdk and removed my hacks from keytable. Everything works fine now. Thankyou very much for all you efforts. Everything appears to be okay, except: The old 'Backspace sends ^?' no longer works. The ^? sequence now sends Forward Delete. I have overriden the keytable section so that it uses only ^h, but this has adverse effects on some X console apps..
