Usually works for me. In fact, when I start KDE, there are 50% chances that some Gnome apps won't work (anyway, the ones I often use Glade and Galeon). So I just Quit KDE and restart it. Sven

I don't know what more to give you. I try and open it with a terminal and it does not post any clues. I've had this, while some pan processes were still running, allthough i quit the program. A killall pan did the trick, if i remember correctly, else a kill for oafd and gconfd-1 should do. I did the remove/re-install thing and Galeon worked fine. Try running gconftool --shutdown oaf-slay and re-run galeon Check you have GConf and libGConf1 with the same version -- Frédéric Crozat MandrakeSoft
