Re: [Cooker] rebutal

2000-10-17 Thread Nate Coffey

Is this almost over yet??? All this BS about what country is better, which
one lost what war, etc, etc, etc. It is pretty sad when you have to
sort messages by subject, then just delete everything that has the subject
"Rebutal".

I am sick of this, and if anyone else agrees, please voice your opinion too!

I mean, I could be wrong, but that would assume that a Mandrake mailing list
doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the software we are trying to
support. If you really want to complain, head over to RedHat's mailing list
and b*tch and moan there, so the rest of us civilized Linux users can carry
on with what really matters.

Just because there is one idiot from the US annoying you, please don't say
negative things about the country. First of all your implication about
gang
riots and "kills", which I presume means killing all over the place is
wrong.
But secondly, not all Americans don't care about the rest of the world.

Private problems are better settled outside of this mailing list so this
will be my last message to you about your immaturity and lack of respect
posted to the Cooker list.

So... The fact that a lot of Americans might purchase Linux Mandrake
means that the sole language of the distribution should be English? It's
a shame that such narrow minded people still walk the planet.

Congrats on getting it working; however, the whole point is to get the
beta stable enough that new users won't have to "get it working." The
released version should work correctly right out of the box. That is the
whole point in reporting any problems that we, the beta testers, have.
If you happen to fix something that wasn't working it would best server
everyone if you would write a mail to the list explaining what was wrong
and how you fixed it.

My god, is he still posting to the list? He went into my killfile but
now I still get to see replies to him. :P

Is there any way to vote someone off the list? Or do I *really* have to
spiff up my mail filter? :)

Not going to include anyones text in this... I'm an American with German
roots and after spending several weeks in Germany I can say that it is
truly a wonderful place. Actually I spent a month in Europe in 7
different countries and loved every one of them. SO... Lets not bicker
about the past and let's just work on the future of this great distro.
;) That's my pep talk for the year... LOL

Re: [Cooker] rebutal

2000-10-15 Thread Digital Wokan

Hey, I'll admit it. I was one to write back to Heir Doktor off the
list. I didn't think it was necessary to fill the list with flame
mail. I think it falls under the concept of netiquette (taking a
flamefest off-list that is).
I can't speak any languages other than English, but I'm not going to go
off on other Linux users for not learning my language. I also did NOT
see anything on the Mandrake page stating that this list was English
only.
Heir Doktor, if you'd like to see a language specific mailing lists, I
suggest you write to MandrakeSoft directly requesting the creation of
Cooker-en, Cooker-es, Cooker-ru, Cooker-ch, Cooker-fr, etc. Until then,
I suggest you get over your language bigotry and remember just how big
and yet small this Earth really is.

My apologies to the list for decreasing the signal/noise ratio of this
list with this post. Anything further I have to say on this subject
will be sent to Mikey directly, which he can feel free to filter
straight to /dev/null for all I truly care.
