The ISO will be available (for sale) _shortly_ (ie : I don't know when :-)

Keep in mind you won't be able to download it from a mirror like the former
version : as 99% of the people didn't buy it (estimation (c) myself :-), the
marketing guys decided not to release a freely downloadable ISO. There have
been a thread about this on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list.

The MNF version is stable right now, you may get it from Cooker (cf

version is still under development but getting close. I am using it and I
really like the product.

Ok Florin,

I looked at the cooker cd's and found that snf-en,
naat-frontend-www-en are not on either of the cd's, found them listed
here

Mandrake/RPMS

But not with the cooker cd's as was led to believe.

Hello there,

sorry for the delay ...

You'll have to use the expert mode of the installation. Then you can
select the needed packages to be installed. There are several categories
... Gnome, Kde, Servers, etc ... unselect all of them (only the base
system will still be selected then) and then chose to select the desired
packages. Click then on the "Z" to see the whole list of packages in
alphabetical order, scroll down and select snf-language (this will also
select all the dependencies)

I hope this helps ...

have a nice day,

Hello there,

the new SNF is not in the cookfire directory. That is the old SNF. The new
one is contained in the cooker directory, or sometimes called
mandrake-devel. You can do a network installation, the unselect all the
pre-selected packages and select only one of snf packages corresponding to
the language you want ...

this "new" SNF is based on the 2.4 kernel and iptables ...

Florin,

Could you take a moment to clear us up on this. I would like to try the
cooker version of snf out too. I have downloaded the entire mandrake-devel
tree to a local server and created a network install floppy. I was able to
kickoff the network install but got confused with regards to what packages
need to be selected. Could you explain what you mean by "unselect all the
pre-selected packages and select only one of snf packages corresponding to
the language you want ..."? Is this the firewall/router option?

If you could take a minute or two and write up the procedure I would be
most thankful.
