I have the last beta of 8.2 and I was wondering if anyone knew the best way of updating my install without downloading and burning the ISO's. The only crux is that while i have a good connection, it isn't on the machine with Mandrake. So, basically i want to download the updated rpms and copy them over and then install them. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks :) andy -BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK- Version: 3.1 GCS/O d-@ s: a? C UL++>$ P+ L+++ E(--) W+++ N++ 0? K++ w--(---) O-- M? V? Wow, I see that MDK8.2b2 uses a vga driver for XFree86-4.2 on my ppc6500/250. I don't even want to know how this is possible, but I like it :-) This might have fixed my major problem with the 6500/250, frequent lockups in X using fbdev or the ati driver. I just have one problem with the vga driver, it won't shut down properly, it just hangs with a black screen (machine still accepts ssh connections, so it's not dead). Does anybody know how to fix this? /Stig

I went through the archives and did not see this addressed so I'll ask. As soon as I get the isos burnt, I want to put 8.2b on a G4 DP 450. I would like to install to a second hard drive (IDE). Is there any problem with the boot loader going on the second drive? Setup would be: Drive0 = 20 gig, 2 partitions (OS9/OSX) Drive1 = 10 gig, all MDL What about dual processor support? Is it auto-detected or will I have to make a choice somewhere along the way? Thanks in advance, sharon
