CUPS - OpenOffice

2003-01-06 Thread Jeroen Diederen
I have an Appletalk printer configured with netatalk and CUPS on my
local server. I can print from the server as well as from my iMac. I
have cooker running on the iMac. I typed a text in OpenOffice and
selected the printer. Before that, I ran printerdrake and added this
printer to OpenOffice/Gimp. I tried to print the text from within
OpenOffice. The job is sent to the CUPS server (I checked that).
Strangely, nothing comes out of the printer. After a while the blinking
of my printer stops. In older versions of OO/cooker I could print to
this machinehas anyone an idea what is wrong here ?

It is a binary that has to be chmod'ed to a+x and can then be executed (
./OOoblabla.bin). These is a README.txt.

Exactly. I keep seeing people calling them RPM's, but afaik they are the
standard OOo installer, built for PPC. Yellowdog and SuSE are just
hosting them for Kevin, as I used to also.

Aren't those simple repackaging of the binaries? i.e. they don't build the
binaries themselves but provide Kevin's.

i installed OOo_1.0.0_LinuxPPC_install_en-US workes fine for me
also the ppc version of opendx works great i only had to install the rpm
without dependency check and make two simlinks as a result of libversions
mismatch but now it runs fine.

I have the K Hendricks version also with 8.2, have been using it a bit since a
few days

Re: vote for packages - OpenOffice again

Yup.. it works!! :^)

I downloaded and installed it over the weekend. A little slow to fire
up on my G3 P/B (192mb ram), but I can live with that for the amount of
times I actually use it!
