[CnD] pouring into a cup.

2015-10-04 Thread ajackson212--- via Cookinginthedark
Hi all,
A liquid level indicator is very helpful, but if you don't have one available,
you can do several things, such as: putting the container on a tray to catch
any spills, or putting the container in the sink for the same reason. If the
liquid isn't boiling hot, you can use a finger on the inside of the cup to feel
for the level of the liquid.
Practice also helps. You can practice with cold liquid just to get the feel of
pouring before going to the hot liquid.
Hope all of this helps.
Blessings,
Alice

Re: [CnD] Coffeemakers that use K cups

2015-10-04 Thread Bill Porter via Cookinginthedark
I've used this model which is available at Amazon.com for around $60.00 or
so for at least two years with no problem at all. And, it is easy to use
with K cups for a grounds insert also available from Amazon.com.

Mr Coffee BVMC-KG5

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone,
I know this has been discussed some, but I don't remember which brands
people mentioned. I'm looking for a coffeemaker other than a Keurig that
uses the K cups. I've had two Keurigs and they both went bad in less than a
year. I'm hoping to get one that won't quit on me.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: [CnD] How to fill a Container with hot water?

2015-10-04 Thread Drew Hunthausen via Cookinginthedark
I know this has already been mentioned, but I can't even say how much my liquid
level indicator has been for me. Especially for coffee which is what I use it
for most. I believe you can get these on line for pretty cheap. Couldn't go
without mine.

Hi Claudia,

The problem I usually have is that not all containers make a loud enough sound
when you fill them. For example, when I'm pouring coffee from a pot into a cup,
it doesn't make a loud enough sound to be heard, maybe because I'm not tilting
the pot too much since I'm afraid of spillage?

Do you also face these problems? How do you solve them?

Thanks.

Hi Alice,

I use the same methods. I'm glad that you guys also do the same; it
makes me feel like I'm on the right track! :-)

Thanks a lot for all the wonderful answers.

Best,
Parham

Hamilton Beach sells a flex brew. It uses k-cups, as well as you can use
regular coffee.
