[CnD] recipe requests
I am looking for some new and yummy Thanksgiving recipes. I saw something on some cooking show about a Ham Briosh-anyone have a recipe. I generally make a simple cranberry sauce, sweet potato sueffle, green bean casserole, corn casserole, and of course turkey/stuffing. Ideas welcome. ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
[CnD] Corn Casserole
I wanted to share the amazing corn casserole recipe that is a big hit in my family. It is easy to make and delicious. Corn Casserole 2 cans corn kernels drained 1 can cream style corn 2 eggs 8 ounces sour cream ½ cup milk 1 stick real butter, softened 1 box of Jiffy cornmeal mix Stir it all up, pour it in a 9x13 baking dish, bake it at 350 for 45 minutes. It might not seem like it is done-but let it sit for a few minutes and it will stiffen up. This is one you can make easily the day before and then just warm up (not cook) and it is great. And, it goes a long way. ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
Re: [CnD] cooking tips-how do you know when it is done
For the person who asked how one knows when something is cooked, with both vision and hearing impairment, the best way is to use a method of time. You need to determine how long and at what temperature the item (chicken, beef, etc.) takes and you can pretty much be assured that if you cook at the designated temperature at a specific amount of tiem it will be done. For ex. Chicken baking at 350 will be done in 45 minutes-no doubt. On the George Foremand you can determine how long everything takes-when I make bacon on it I cook for 5 minutes Hope that helps. ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
