[Coworking] Coworking Alliances/Collectives/Associations Global List - please fill out, if applicable
There is power in aligning together to spread the good word about what coworking is and how it can benefit more and more people. If you are part of a coworking alliance/collective/association please fill out this form to be added to the global list. http://bit.ly/coworkingalliancelist This list will be housed on Coworking.com and will help local coworking space owners/operators connect to their regional organization. And if there is not already an organization in their area they may decide to create one. ~ Thanks, Melissa - on behalf of Open Coworking http://blog.coworking.com/2017/11/03/a-rising-tide-lifts-all-boats-regional-coworking-alliances-collectives-and-associations/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Coworking" group. Re: [Coworking] the most effective marketing to get people into your coworking space?
Alex- That was hugely helpful! We've been open for 3 months and we've had a lot of activity the first 3 months. Going into this month my rent increases significantly. I think that's got me in a bit of a panic. But I must return to the basics and do what we've been doing so far. Love the idea of events, we'll start to do more and I'll continue to get out and network. Thanks again! * Melissa B. The most common techniques that people report are events that your potential members would be interested in. These can be educational events, social events, some combination of the two. The more engaging participatory the events are, the better! Make your goal helping people connect and bond with each other rather than simply get them in the space, even if it happens to be in the context of the space. You can host other peoples' events, but be prepared for low direct conversions to membership. Hosting events can be good for spreading awareness, but very few people join after seeing the space just during an event. It's a bit counterintuitive, but my favorite technique for early community building is actually getting OUT of the space and going to get to know people wherever they are. Contributing to the community outside of the space has, without a doubt, been the #1 most effective funnel for new membership over our entire 6 year history. Just this past friday I was at a massive gala event (600+ members of the Philadelphia tech community) and heard from countless people that they can't stop hearing about us - our community is notorious for being supportive and helpful. That's marketing you can't pay for. :) There's also a mountain of great suggestions you can read by searching the google group - or just click here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!searchin/coworking/marketing%7Csort:relevance Good luck! -Alex -- /ah indyhall.org coworking in philadelphia On Tue, Apr 30, 2013 at 4:32 PM, Melissa Saubers msaub...@gmail.comwrote: I know this is different for each market I just wanted to get your ideas on the things that have worked for your coworking space to get people into the space. Re: [Coworking] Half Day Option for Drop Ins?
We are thinking about offering these? We can take our daily drop in rate and cut it in half but how do you handle the hours? Do you have set times they can come in like: 9 - 1 and 1 to 5 or are you flexible when they can come in? We just opened so we are ramping up and can probably be flexible on the times that people come in for now. But when we get busier my fear is that a half day person may take up a spot that a full day person could be using. Do you experience that? Thanks! * Melissa B. [Coworking] Re: Pricing and Plans
Ryan, Alex and Glen- Thank you for the responses. All very helpful information. I think I am going to keep it simple, maybe only 3 tiers and include copies. I'm in Kansas City, Missouri and the space is called Cowork Waldo (in the Waldo district). I just signed the lease last week but have already been developing the community. I'm highly active in the Waldo Business Association and have a lot of contacts in the area. There's a lot of buzz surrounding it. There's nothing like this near us so people are pretty excited. In KC there are only 3 or 4 other coworking spaces and they are mostly downtown, we're a little south of there. https://www.facebook.com/CoworkWaldo https://twitter.com/CoWorkWaldo The space will be ready for members by Feb 1st. Before that, as we are getting it ready, I think I will have some happy hour/open houses to increase the buzz. I need to get some cosmetic things done first. Thanks again for the advice. I see where you are located so stay safe out there! The entire U.S. is thinking and praying for everyone on the East Coast! I was thinking of setting up pricing by the number of days per week. 5 days per week, dedicated desk = $A 4 days per week, open seating = $B 3 days per week, open seating = $C 2 days per week, open seating = $D 1 days per week, open seating = $E daily drop-in rate = $F per day punch card for discounted daily rate = $G per day for 10, $H per day fr 20 Everyone would get wi-fi, coffee, printer/copies Based on your tier you would get so many copies/prints and conference room hours Dedicated desk gets locked storage Hours at beginning - 8:30 to 6pm - M-F Thoughts?
