Re: [Csgo_sdk] $1,000 CS:GO mapping contest!

2014-03-15 Thread Nick Haruk
Hey,

If you want to get your map hosted for testing, I've got a server for you.

A few criteria:
It has to be on the workshop (I will use the workshop version for my server)
Playtesting relies on you being there to test it, bring your friends.

Minimum requirements:

Has spawns for both teams, ideally 32 total, and a nav mesh.

The server runs in competitive all the time, which suits the purposes of the
contest.
There are no bots by default, however 1-2 may join by happenstance.

I am Vulgarman, add me on steam and tell me about your map:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/vulgarman/

If you'd like to mess around on my server:
71.47.119.106

Thanks for the reply, Jon. I am concentrating all my attention to my Portal 2
mod Aperture Tag so I won't participate in this contest. I will keep an eye to
see what stuff gets submitted.

Best of luck to all. Feel free to add me on steam for feedback!

If you want to upload it to the workshop, your portfolio, or other modding
websites that's fine with us! In fact in our opinion the more people who get
to download and play your map the better!  We want the whole community to
enjoy these maps, the only thing we ask for contest submissions is that the
map remains free for people to download and play!

Rule 8.

Just a quick follow-up question. I understand this is for new maps but if map
is submitted to the contest, is it allowed to submit to steam workshop also
at the same time?

Hi Eugenio,

We realise that a lot of people were annoyed with last years results - it
was our first time launching a co-sponsored event - however we have learnt
a lot from it and have taken on board these comments. This time we will
make sure that the rules and terms are more clearly displayed, and we are
going to be very transparent about our judging process, by publishing a
full list of criteria to avoid any disappointment.
