[css-d] Bug in IE6 -Similar to peekaboo

2005-11-27 Thread Luke Mackenzie
Hi,

I'd be very grateful for some assistance on the following problem. I've had
a good search around and while it seems like the peekaboo bug, none of the
peekaboo fixes seem to work (the ones suggested at P.I.E).

Sometimes when I view the following page, I get an effect similar to the
peekaboo bug in IE6:

http://www.loopfruit.co.uk/component/option,com_contact/Itemid,12/

To reproduce the behaviour, refresh the page a view times until the border
below the navbar drops down by about 15 pixels. If you then move the mouse
over one of the menu options, the innerbox div snaps back into place.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before and is there a fix? It doesn't happen
in firefox 1.0.7. I don't think its the peekaboo bug as there is no float
element inside the containing div.

Many thanks - please cc [EMAIL PROTECTED] on any replies.

Luke Mackenzie.

Subject: divs not expanding with content

hi all,

i'm having problems with this page:

 <http://www.loopfruit.co.uk/component/option,com_contact/Itemid,12/>
http://www.loopfruit.co.uk/component/option,com_contact/Itemid,12/

i'm trying to get it to look like the page you'll see if you click 'home',
with the exception that the content on this page will be larger and needs to
expand the surrounding boxes according to how much content there is.
the relevant divs are in the 'new divs' section in the css - the rest all
relate to mambo (a CMS) but there is no mambo content being generated so
that i can narrow down the problem.

at the moment, i've resorted to using min-height for firefox and * html
#mambobox {height:780px} for IE but I want the layout to be able to cope
with varying amounts of content in the innerbox div.

can anyone suggest a solution? or suggest what is causing the problem?
please cc replies to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

many thanks,

[css-d] Content jumping a couple of pixels in Firefox

2005-11-08 Thread Luke Mackenzie
Hi,

I'm having a problem with the following page:

http://www.loopfruit.co.uk/content/blogsection/0/4/

In firefox (1.0.7 on XP), if you click 'home', you should notice that the
positioning of the links at the bottom moves by a pixel or two. This doesn't
happen in IE6. However, in IE 6, the text content (beginning 'loopfruit?) is
right at the top of the box and I need to add some padding there. If I do
that, I get the movement of a few pixels in IE instead of firefox.

Can anyone offer a fix or an explanation as to why this is happening? Please
cc replies to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Many thanks in advance and also thanks to those who reponded to my last
question. Unfortunately I lost some email recently and was not able to
respond.

Rgds,

Hi,

I'd be grateful if somebody could look at the following problem. "test
content 1" should appear as it does in firefox on the following page:

www.loopfruit.co.uk

in IE, the div above does not appear to be closing correctly. i think this
is a probably a well known bug and would be very grateful if somebody could
provide and explain a solution to me. i realise that the CSS is not
validating due to some background colour problems (i inherited parts of the
css and have yet to fix it) but am sure these aren't the cause of the
problem.

many thanks,

luke mackenzie - UK

Subject: Large gap appearing in IE6

Hi,

I am having an issue with IE6 which I just can't seem to resolve. I have
searched the css-org site and checked on positioniseverything.net but can't
seem to find a bug fix for my particular problem. I have vaildated the html
and css at w3c - no problems. I would be very grateful if a css expert out
there could help me out. I need to deliver the website this week and so I am
under time pressure.

I think the problem relates to the #nav container as if i remove the width
setting from there, the problem also occurs in Firefox. The page in question
is here:

http://mixdoaa1.miniserver.com/~staging/members/index.php?sid=ed1147f3c538f4
e95852105ad46eafad

To complicate matters, the navigation on the left is coming from a different
file to the forum content on the right. To see the problem, view the page
first in Firefox and then in IE6 - there is a huge unwanted gap between the
the sections on the page. The easiest way to see the css is to view the page
source as the css is actually coming from a .tpl file which you won't be
able to access.

Many thanks for any replies. I do hope someobdy out there can help.

Regards,

Luke Mackenzie - York, England.

[css-d] footer and right border problem

2005-06-09 Thread Luke Mackenzie
hi there,

i am having some problems positioning the footer and displaying the
right-border of the leftnav div at the following page:

http://testing.loopfruit.co.uk

can anyone tell me how to get the footer to display after the allcontent div
(i.e. right at the bottom of the page) and/or why the right-hand border of
the leftnav div isn't displaying? the css file is in the same directory -
main.css

the navigation is created using tigra menu and has it's own menu.css file.

many thanks for any replies.

luke.
