[css-d] Drupal Themer ...
I hope this isn't too off-topic or a disallowed topic, but First, I’m interested to know if anyone can recommend any developer(s) skilled in creating themes for Drupal 6 – we have an immediate need for additional resources along these lines, and would be interested in speaking to anyone who fits that bill (particularly from developers in the San Francisco Bay Area). Second, does anyone know of any listservs or similar resources dedicated to Drupal theme creation? We regularly follow discussions on Drupal.org for updates to modules, discussion of bugs etc, but wondering if there are any communities out there that focus more specifically on Drupal’s presentation layer? Would love to hear any recommendations! Thanks for any help here. Tim ___Tim Ware / HyperArts___ T: 510.339.6084 F: 510.339.6086 E: t...@hyperarts.com 201 4th Street , Suite 404 . I looked at this page on your site: http://www.svendtofte.com/code/max_width_in_ie/ in IE 6, and I see the same issue of disappearing link background image, under "The Useability Studies", the linked text: "The Effect of Line Lengths in Children and Adults' Online Reading Performance" allocates the space for your background arrow, but doesn't display it. so if you have something you want to communicate, so far I'm missing it. [css-d] link image background problem w/IE 6 (natch)
I created a link class to have a background image on linked text where needed: a.checkbox { background:url(/healthcare/_img/Pencil.gif) no-repeat 100% 50%; padding-right:20px; } The above adds a checkbox to the right of the linked text, and it works fine everywhere but IE 6 and 7 where, if there are two links in a paragraph with that class assigned -- and the two blocks of linked text wrap to separate lines -- the first link displays the image and the second link allocates the space/padding, but doesn't display the image. This can be seen here: http://www.opa.ca.gov/healthcare/use-plan/ disability-assistance.aspx Here's the full HTML including the the floated div (with the image and paragraph underneath) that forces the text to wrap, and the text that is to the left of the floated div: This exam table can be raised and lowered, so it is easier to get on and off. Accessible tables such as this one are becoming more common. If you have a disability, your health plan must remove most physical or communication barriers that make it hard for you to get the care you need. Call your health plan and be firm about what you need. Use the worksheets on physical access and communication assistance to list the access or services you need. If the two links are in separate paragraphs, then no problem. If the two links are on one line, no problem. But if they break to separate lines, no second image. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. [css-d] Using divs & transparent corners for rounded images... but
I am having a problem with this page: http://help.hyperarts2.com/papilia/ Near the bottom is a brown empty image. The basic idea of what I'm trying to do is have a div (.roundimg) that contains an image tag (both the div & image with no dimensions specified), and 4 divs that are absolutely positioned in each corner (.roundimg is positioned relative). The 4 corner divs have a background image that is a rounded corner with transparency so that the image in .roundimg displays with rounded corners. For some reason, the .roundimg is getting pushed out on the right about 10px, messing up the concept. .roundimg { border:0; margin:0; padding:0; position:relative; float:right; } Then the html: The top-l, top-r, etc. divs are positon-absolute at the four corners and they contain an aliased rounded corner to create the rounded corner effect on the image. Styled: .top-l, .top-r, .bot-l, .bot-r { position:absolute; width:12px; height:12px; } .top-l { background:transparent url(/papilia/_img/top-l.gif) no-repeat; top:0; left:0; } .top-r { background:transparent url(/papilia/_img/top-r.gif) no-repeat; top:0; right:0; } .bot-l { background:transparent url(/papilia/_img/bot-l.gif) no-repeat; bottom:0; left:0; } .bot-r { background:transparent url(/papilia/_img/bot-r.gif) no-repeat; bottom:0; right:0; } For some reason, if I don't specifiy a width for the .roundimg div, you see the result, with the div being expanded about 10px wider than the image that's in it. Here's a link to the css: http://help.hyperarts2.com/papilia/_inc/papilia.css I'm so close to getting this sorted out. Thanks so much for any assistance! Tim . ! ..... Tim Ware .. [css-d] CSS/JS dropdowns and IE 6 (so close...)
Hello, I'm using CSS/JavaScript dropdowns here: http://help.hyperarts2.com/ and they work perfectly everywhere except IE 6, and they *almost* work with IE 6! CSS: http://help.hyperarts2.com/_inc/nav.css JavaScript: http://help.hyperarts2.com/_inc/main.js The other styles are in the head of the index page, for now. Basically, it's this structure: (just a top graphic) position: relative no z-index Contains the horizontal nav (position: relative) and the dropdowns (position: absolute; z-index: 10;) position: relative; z-index:21; Contains only an image No positioning No z-index The dropdowns are "hidden" until activated by a rollover which triggers the javascript. If the user mouses down below the dropdowns, they're turned off by a "nodrop()" function which hides all. I've tried to use a onmouseout event on the dropdowns themselves to hide them, but it just doesn't work. And this way does work, almost. If I get rid of the image in the "flash" div, then IE 6 is happy and a rollover hides the dropdowns. With the image there, it activates the hiding while the user is still mousing over the dropdowns. An article I read here: http://www.aplus.co.yu/css/z-pos/index.php was helpful in setting the z-indexes to make IE 6 happy. So it's just the presence of the image that causes the browser to put the "flash" div above the dropdowns. The way out will be most appreciated! Finally, if there's a way to keep the active state on the top-level nav when mousing over the dropdown, that would be great. Can someone point me to best pure-css dropdown menu. It has to be one where the top nav items are horizontal and the dropdown is spawned below them and can be wider than the spawning list item. [css-d] Lock down some text sizes
Yes, I know it's frowned upon, but I'm coding a site for a client/ designer and persuaded them to use CSS/HTML for their navigation, but we *definitely* need to lock down the file size for the navigation or it breaks the design.
