I've noticed this image-clearing problem in IE before - adding a 'br' between the image and caption 'solves' things in IE7/Win, although it's not 100% ideal, and untested in other browsers (i.e. IE7 - FF is fine). It also fixes the image alignment, so is definitely one place to start. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile.
