If you successfully run it manually, then the problem of launching the bat file with a shortcut is a Windows gui problem. Go for investigating file extensions and associations handling of bat files. Try to delete and recreate a link to the original bat file on the desktop (Ctrl-Shift Drag the icon). Pavel Pavel, Thanks for the help.
