Susana, I  am sorry you are having so much trouble. You are very brave to keep
trying. I am not a developer, and I  do not run dt on windows, but if I  had
your issue, I  would open a console window (start | type "CMD" upper case,
without the quotes in the "Type here to search" box) then try to execute dt by
typing "darktable" (without the quotes) in the console window. Then dt should
open. Make the error occur, switch back to the console window and look at the
messages near its bottom. There may be a clue, such as " not found" or
maybe something is too old a version. If dt will not open from the console
window, that may indicate that dt is not in the path. Should it be? I don't
know, but that is a different problem. I would try the above first. Let's see
what the smart people have to say about this.

Re: [darktable-dev] Color balance wheels

2018-09-27 Thread Pete Hall
Regarding sRPG, dt already supports the .exr export, which requires a
larger color space. I don't know how it's getting that on the screen,
but it's working quite well.

On 09/27/2018 12:20 AM, Aurélien Pierre wrote:

Hi everyone,

The colorbalance is done and I have added HSL sliders to make it
really quick to set (altough now, the UI is quite crowded). It's the
closest I can go to the color wheels, given that I don't know much
about cairo.

The new mode works in ProPhoto RGB, I still have a problem with the
colorspace conversion in the SSE2 version : converting back and forth
produces a slight magenta cast. I'm bumping my head to understand why,
since the pure C and OpenCL versions work flawlessly with the same
algorithm.

If you want to test or review :
https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/1734

If someone wants to finish the color wheels, you just have to map the
radius to what is passed to the current saturation slider, and the
angle to what is passed to the current hue slider. The maths are ready
and working.

Have a nice day,

Aurélien.

I have seen the prototype of the code for color wheels, from Tobias,
and the comment :

// these are not in a state to be useful. but they look nice. too
bad i couldn't map the enhanced mode with
// negative values to the wheels :(

What exactly didn't work ? If the problem is merely mathematical, I
can work on it. I'm just bad at GUIs and GTK stuff.

On another note, is it mandatory to make the adjustement in sRGB ?
(why not a larger RGB space ?)

Cheers,

Re: [darktable-dev] Noise profile Sony ILCE-7RM3

I wrote up the process I used for a Canon G3 X. Maybe that can help you get
started. https://landscrapes.wordpress.com/2016/05/10/darktable/

My process may not produce enough midtone. I got around that when I did my T7i
by draping a cable through the frame from top to bottom. With everything
defocused nicely, that seemed to give me plenty of midtone.

Pete

Just an opinion from a devoted user... It might be a very useful tool for me. I
shoot a lot of sporting events. It's common for me to find a great shot ruined
because at the critical moment, the camera focused on the wrong player, or on
the goal keeper's net. Even if it can't be made efficient for the normal
workflow, it could still be a very useful tool, at least for me.

Thank you Roman. That was what I needed.

I've added your information to a blog posting that I wrote last May,

slightly more intelligible to those of us who are slightly computer

Hello Roman

Sorry to get in at the end here, but I have a tarball that's been
getting ignored for quite a while too.Would you please tell me the
actual uri I need in order to create an issue in redmine? I know it's
not your issue, and I'm glad you are trying to help, but it would be
really great if this info were actually published with the instructions.
This is way more difficult than it needs to be and certainly not
efficient. Does anyone actually own new hardware support? That's how it
would be done in a normal business. Might work for DT as well...

Thanks
