Re: [darktable-user] Input color profile

2016-06-03 Thread Raymundo Vega
First, Thank you so much.

I was following the photographylife.com tutorial, but stopped when i tried
the channel mixer to move blue to red and green and set the blue to red
plus green minus blue.

Thanks again, my test photo looks much better now in false color and BW.

note that our input colour profile module has a `BGR linear infrared'
profile for this purpose (so you can work on your swapped channels
early on in the pipe, channel mixer comes in quite late).

Ooh great I didn't know that (though I feel like I might have known
once, damn you flawed human memory!), I'll give it a shot. :)

One benefit of having that channel mixing in an ICC profile is that you still
have all the other modules to process your image ontop of those changes. Same
reason why we have the invert module, you can surely do something similar with
other modules, too.

That being said, don't we already ship two profiles with flipped channels? BRG
and the infrared one. Don't they work?

Maybe try the Fedora Design Suit [0], it comes with darktable.

[darktable-user] Nikon D3100 not recognised by Darktable - please help!

2016-06-03 Thread Michael Hendry
Dear Tenebromensals,

I’m using darktable version 2.0.4 (downloaded in .DMG form) on my iMac with OS
X El Capitan version 10.11.5.

When I connect my Nikon D3100 via USB and click “scan for devices” the camera
is not detected, although it is detected by other software - e.g. Apple’s
“Photos” App, Nikon Transfer 2.

Obviously, I can import using one of these programs, and subsequently import
the images to darktable, but that defeats the object!
