[darktable-user] Mac Catalina & tether view is cropped

2021-01-31 Thread Phung Nguyen
Hi all,

I have just started to use Darktable 3.4.0 on Mac Os for tethering with my
canon 60D, what I found is that after each shot, the image is displayed in
a zoom-in manner (my guess is about 25% zoom-in) rather than the scaled
down of the full image.

For the same image, if I go to darkroom, I can zoom in-out easily, but
there is no such option in the tethering view.

The image resolution is: 5184 x 3456
I am using Mac pro 13 inches with Catalina.

Is this a known issue? or is there a way to work around this?

Thanks for reading.

Correction - support is already in darktable. See:

Sample raw files for this camera have been submitted to
https://raw.pixls.us/ so I would expect support to follow sometime soon.

Try getting in touch with the people who run UFRaw, or some other Linux
based raw converter. They probably have a process for keeping their raw
converters up to date, and may be able give you an estimate for how long
it's going to take to bring Fuji on board.

2021-01-31 Thread Robert Bridge
If a camera is not supported currently, it will mostly depend on support being
added to relevant libraries. Is it currently supported by any of the open
source applications or libraries? Once support exists, it is a lot easier to
port around, if needed.

That said, I personally wouldn’t buy a camera against future support, which may
or may not arrive.

[darktable-user] Buying a new camera which RAWS are not (yet) supported by darktable

2021-01-31 Thread Peter Schlaufer
Hello to all

I intend to buy a new Fujifilm XS 10. Yet their RAW’s cannot be processed in
dt, neither do DNG converters (Adobe or Iridient X Transformer) work with
Linux. Is there a way round this to convert these new RAF’s in DNG’s or when
will the RAW library be updated?
