Maybe there is only lens calibration data for the lens on a DX camera
and you are using a FX camera or the opposite. Also perhaps no
calibration for the lens on your camera brand

In my files I see this:
Tokina
Tokina AF 11-20mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX
Nikon F AF
Canon EF
1.534

This means only calibration data for Nikon and Canon DX bodies.

Yes, I was using a FX camera but I assumed that would not matter.
Probably I was wrong.

I see the same entry in my lensfun file.

Thanks for all your valuable help

Here you can find some excellent videos on masking in DT

Hi there,

I'm trying to apply masks. The idea is simple, but I can't get it

internet all of a sudden without restarting properly. So my online
resources are really small. Watching on my phone is an option, but the
content doesn't cover my question, like I said.

So here's the situation. I have this image that I had to brighten up
quite a bit, but now a small part is overexposed. I want to use a mask
to bring that down. But… when I draw a mask and change the exposure,
it's being applied to the complete image. (Yes, I did create a new
instance in the expose module before I started to create the mask.)

I found this tutorial that showed something about 'blend mode' and
telling that 'normal' applies to the complete image. You have to chose
'mask'. But when I click on 'blend mode' I get a much larger list
without the option 'mask'.

What can I do to make this work?

Kind regards,

[darktable-user] module layouts preset question

Hi

I am using DT 3.8.0 on FreeBSD. In the modules layout preset "workflow:
scene-referred" I am missing the "diffuse or sharpen" module. Is this
because I upgraded from DT 3.6.1 or is there another reason why the
module has not been added to the preset.

I know I could create my own preset but I hoped I could live with a
predefined one.

also, if current settings are not being retained in darktablerc, do you
have it in a different location or are you starting dt from the cl with

check the timestamp on darktablerc
stat ~/.config/darktable/darktablerc

should display an access time that you last closed dt.

I've also got this on a few pictures. It's very odd. At
some point
when I zoom in, the issue goes away. The thumbnail in the
darktable is
black, too.

Disabling a module gets rid of the problem for me too. In
the case of
the image in the attached screenshots, disabling any of local
contrast, filmic rgb, rgb curve, color look up table, crop
and rotate
and denoise (profiled) renders the image fine at 11% zoom.
Disabling
any of tone curve, tone equalizer, orientation, highlight
reconstruction, white balance doesn't accomplish anything.

I've taken it a subtle hint that I'm overediting. ;)

Cheers
Moritz
