Re: [darktable-user] Buying a new camera which RAWS are not (yet) supported by darktable
Correction - support is already in darktable. Re: [darktable-user] Buying a new camera which RAWS are not (yet) supported by darktable
Sample raw files for this camera have been submitted to https://raw.pixls.us/ so I would expect support to follow sometime soon. Re: [darktable-user] Buying a new camera which RAWS are not (yet) supported by darktable
Try getting in touch with the people who run UFRaw, or some other Linux based raw converter. They probably have a process for keeping their raw converters up to date, and may be able give you an estimate for how long it's going to take to bring Fuji on board. Re: [darktable-user] Buying a new camera which RAWS are not (yet) supported by darktable
If a camera is not supported currently, it will mostly depend on support being added to relevant libraries. Is it currently supported by any of the open source applications or libraries? Once support exists, it is a lot easier to port around, if needed. That said, I personally wouldn’t buy a camera against future support, which may or may not arrive.
