Re: [datameet] Rajasthan's New District and Block Shapefiles

This map is in circulation for quite some time, but no shp file is
available yet. Responsible agencies have also not worked on it. It is an
approximate outline.

Re: [External Email] [datameet] official 1991 district shapefiles

2024-02-22 Thread Dr Mahesh Gaur
Thank you very much dear Akshay. If you take case of Rajasthan, it has
increased from 33 to 50 now. It would be updated again. Same applies to
other States of India.
Number of Blocks/ Tehsils, and Panchayat Samitis etc. always keep on
increasing, after sub-dividing the existing ones.

Actually, several new districts have been carved out after 2022 on the
pretext of better governance. Though its motive was entirely different. If
anyone has a latest shapefiles of the districts, plz share. Furthermore, it

 Hi all,

I am aware that the last three censuses are availiable online even at
the village/town level for most questions but what about for the previous
censuses? Are you aware of census data being digitized at least at the
district level? Most important to me is get the distribution by religion
and whatever categorization of caste is available (whether it be SC/ST/OBC
or specific jatis for the earlier censuses).

Alternatively, do you know of a repository with the census data perhaps
for the earlier ones. I have found some here and there with varying degrees
of completeness and I was wondering if any of you have come across a more
 comprehensive collection.

Thank you very much in advance!

 Best,

 Eduardo
