Re: [datameet] Virtual chat sometime?

2021-12-07 Thread Khush Vachhrajani
This is indeed a lovely initiative. Would love to both listen in as well
share about some of the interesting work happening in Rajasthan
<https://jansoochna.rajasthan.gov.in/> and Karnataka
<https://mahitikanaja.karnataka.gov.in/>. Both the states have developed
Public Information Systems (portals) with the goal of proactively
disclosing information in the most relevant and actionable manner for
people to claim their entitlements, register grievances, and engage with
the government throughout the process of planning, implementation, and
monitoring constructively. Happy to share more about these portals as well
as ongoing advocacy around them with these two and other states.

Look forward!

Best,
Khush

2021-12-07 Thread Khush Vachhrajani
Dear Thejesh,

Glad to see your engagement with the KODI team. I along with other civil
society groups working across sectors are also engaged with the Karnataka
Government on strengthening their portal called Mahiti Kanaja
<https://mahitikanaja.karnataka.gov.in/home>. It is a Public Information
Portal developed with the goal of proactively disclosing information in the
most useful and relevant manner for the citizens to claim their welfare
entitlements, register grievances, and engage with the government in a more
regular and constructive manner through the planning, implementation, and
monitoring phases of various policies. I would love to chat with you
whenever you/data meet community members are available. We are also working
on institutionalizing a monthly tripartite dialogue - Digital Dialogue -
between the civil society, various line departments of the Karnataka Gov,
and the Center for E-Governance (CeG) in order to streamline the process of
participation as well as enhance accountability and transparency of the
entire system.

Please do let me know when and how can we involve the data meet community
better in this process. Happy to chat briefly over the phone at your
convenience first.

Best,
Khush

[datameet] Project with Municipal Corporation Faridabad - Setting up a GIS Centre

2018-01-23 Thread Khush Vachhrajani
Hi everyone

I am doing an exciting project with the Municipal Corporation Faridabad in
my capacity as a consultant to the Chief Minister's Office, Haryana. We are
setting up a GIS for the MC and we need help & guidance with the process,
resource generation and capacity building.

There are two key areas that we are seeking help in:

   1. Support in designing a roadmap for the corporation on setting up a
GIS centre (roadmap will be created by the MC but facilitation is required)
   2. Help in designing and running a city wide campaign to crowd source
information on assets and public utilities (geo referenced and with other
relevant data for each) - On the lines of Map My Home project of Kunnur.
Our final output will be something like a Bhubneswar One
   . However, this will just
   be the starting point.

The project is being done under the Smart City initiative. It would be
great to have someone from Delhi / NCR in this community to have on board
in the project as an advisor.

Just a heads up, the corporation might also require some hand holding as to
what and how things can be done. This is a citizen centric initiative which
can make city more liveable, inclusive and open.

Do let me know if there is any more information I can provide you with. I
look forward to hearing from interested data meet members as soon as
possible.

Cheers.

I am sorry I missed this message. I did talk to HARSAC (Haryana Remote

[datameet] Preparing a spatial database for the Faridabad Municipal Corporation

2017-12-14 Thread Khush Vachhrajani
Hello everyone,

Glad to connect back after the Open Data Camp, Delhi. I am working on setting
up a GIS platform for the Faridabad Municipal Corporation while researching on
understanding the role of open data in strengthening a public institution like
Municipal Corporation. We do not have accurate (well surveyed) data sets which
are geo referenced. I need help in designing and structuring the entire project
for the corporation along with technical guidance on how to go about the
process of data collection and setting up a GIS system.

I look forward to connecting with data meet community members who might be
interested in working on this project.

Cheers.
