Additional information regarding formatting errors in FormattedField controls.
1) in a GridControl - a FormattedField does pick-up and retain the formatting;
(eg, format=(1234.00) does display with two decimal places (as in a Currency
field)
2) an individual formatted field control - not bound to a data item - does not
retain formatting. Both decimal and currency formats display as integers. [the
formatted field is filled in with computed results from a SELECT SUM(... )
stmt.]

Tested on OOO320m12 and the problem is still there. Used the MyQL 5.1 driver and
my own driver to test.
Created a table named test with a field named tést. Open table and insert
row - error: unknown column 'tÃf st' in field list. The odbc log shows a
SQLPREPARE with the following query INSERT INTO `test` (`ID`,
`t\ff\ff\ff\ffst`) VALUES ...) . Clearly the é was translated twice with
probably system-utf8 to become 4 bytes. According to the same log the table was
created with the field name `t\ff\ffst` which is OK (windows ODBC manager
doesn't know utf8 and logs all none ascii characters as \ff).

I had a further look into this. Part of the problem is the windows ODBC manager.
All drivers tested support wide character ODBC function calls (SQLExecuteW, etc)
and the single byte character ones (SQLExecute, etc). The windows driver manager
sits between OOO and the driver. OOO uses the single byte version of the ODBC
function calls and the windows driver manager translates the single byte
function calls to wide character ones. It translates also the parameters from
system to utf16 in doing so (é in UTF8 is two bytes, translating with system to
utf16 gives two wide characters). The drivers continue with the utf16 values and
will use wrong field names. This explains the first 2 errors reported in the
original issue. I have to conclude that this is not an OOO issue.
The test case in my earlier comment today does however still show a problem with
a double translation in OOO.

Note: this is related to #99704

The default Mouse wheel scroll property of a numeric control in a DB Form is
When focused. Understandably, this is to mimic the behavior of previous
versions. However, I regard this behavior to be really dangerous, and encourage
the default to be changed to Never:
 * Unexpected slips of the scroll wheel will modify numeric data. This can be
disastrous for too many reasons to list in a paragraph.
 * A scroll wheel is a poor input device for numbers:
   - Can only reasonably modify small integers; cannot input/change fractions
or
very small (1e-5) or large (1e20) numbers.
   - Increment/Decrement by 1 is arbitrary
 (e.g.: 329.32- 330.32
1e-5 - 1
1.00E+020 - 1.00E+020 )
 * This behavior is different than Microsoft Access, which = version 2003
navigates form record forwards/backwards and = version 2007 does nothing (I
think)

I can understand why Max/MSP and Pure Data would have a mouse scroll wheel
behavior on a numeric control, since it is often used for artistic expression.
However, I cannot think of a single good reason why a database should have this
control behavior.

Same results.
It is normal that you get a missing element, because all my macros except 1 must
be in a private library not integrated.
However, I notice that if the odb file doesn't automatically start the first
form which is FmMenuGeneral (with open a document event), all works fine and
the problem doesn't appear : the integrated macros are shown in the macro
selector.

I have searched the issue database, and only found one reference to my long
standing issue in the LAST comment of issue 45617.

However, issue 45617
- covers a different subject
- is closed

Hence I open a new issue. The OpenOffice.org Base application title bar says
'Form design' in form entry mode.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open OpenOffice.org Base.
2) Create a new form (nothing needs to be on it)
3) Save it
4) Close it
5) Open it in data enty mode (using the context command open as opposed to
edit).
6) Look at the title bar

If you have a list box whose first list entry is an empty string, then this
string is not shown in the entry list. Still, you can *select* the entry by
pressing POS1 when the list is focused. So, it seems the entry is there, but not
displayed (and consequently cannot be selected using the mouse).

See the attached text document, containing a list box form control, for an
example.

Uhm. This is broken since 3.0.1, at least (don't have a 3.0 to check). In 2.4.2,
it works as expected, i.e. the empty line is displayed.
