Information Asssurance and Security Awareness Training

2005-10-03 Thread Larry Cates

Has your organizations implemented an Information Assurance or Security Awareness initiative to protect your companies knowledge and assets? As a provider of cyber security training services to the U.S.
government and Fortune 1000 companies, Global Learning Systems works with many organizations, including Areva, Health and Human Services and the Department of
Education, to implement effective security awareness initiatives and
programs to meet federal and corporate guidelines to protect the information technology infrastructure.

In response to requests by
many of our customers, Global Learning Systems (GLS) developed a
customizable, Off-the-shelf (COTS) security awareness program that
meets federal, state, local and internal security training standards and
requirements.

As published in a memorandum from the Executive Office of the President,
“All agencies [Federal Government and Federal Contractors] must implement the requirements of FISMA and report
annually to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Congress on
the effectiveness of their security programs.” (Source: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/memoranda/fy2005/m05-15.html)
The requirements of FISMA include educating your end-users on the following security and information threats:
Appropriate security controls for information systems
Verification of security control effectiveness and determination of information system vulnerabilities
Operational authorization for processing (security accreditation) of information systems
Understanding of enterprise-wide mission risks resulting from the operation and use of information systems
Facilitating more informed security accreditation decisions
FISMA
built and expanded upon earlier legislation, such as the Security Act
of 1987, and added particular emphasis to the management dimension of
information security in the federal government and can be applied to private organizations. FISMA establishes
stronger lines of management responsibility for information security.

Re: Creativity Courses in New York City and Europe

2005-10-03 Thread Laurice Heybl

Hello

I would like information about your New York workshops. I have a masters
degree in art but have not done much art work in many years. I have
worked in almost every medium in the past but would like to expand and
re-energize my creative _expression_.

Would you tell me about your program?

Thank you, Laurice Heybl, FSPA

Re: Bug#330727: libapache-mod-auth-mysql: postrm script fails

reassign 330727 apache-common
thanks

The postrm runs /usr/sbin/modules-config. since libapache-mod-auth-mysql
depends on apache-common which owns this, this is probably fine. However
/usr/sbin/modules-config fails if apache is not installed which results
in the postrm failing and hence the package is uninstallable.
This may of course be a bug with apache-common, but I think the postrm
should allow for this possible failure.

Apart from tacking an || true onto the modules-config invocation (which
can hide a multitude of sins) I'm not sure how the libapache-mod-auth-mysql
postrm *could* allow for the possible failure of an external program,
especially when a failure of that program should be something that
libapache-mod-auth-mysql should know about and pitch a small fit.

I really think that modules-config failing when the apache package itself
isn't installed is an apache-common problem, so I'm reassigning it there.
