I didn't followed the discussion, but the default should be the same as in
buster. I don't want debootstrap to behave different than in testing.

In fact the maintainer uploaded a new openssl to backports and I approved it
an hour again or so.

Bug#690592: installation-reports: Grub video mode incorrect after efi installation

2012-10-15 Thread Alexander Wirt
Package: installation-reports
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

installation with amd64 efi worked fine so far (thanks!). But after
installation grub was missing
the efi_gop and efi_uga modules. Those missing modules resulted in a no
suitable mode found error
and a black screen afterwards.

Otherwise the installation went without problems and my uefi bios was happy to
boot the debian entry.

Thanks for your work

Alex

 I have no idea. I only use i386 and amd64. :)

 Quite. Anybody else?
I think we should also include ppc, especially for the powerbook users with a
b43.

Ban of Uwe Bugla from debian mailinglists

2009-08-24 Thread Alexander Wirt
Hi,

Unfortunately I have to announce that we have banned Uwe Bugla from our
mailinglists. In the last days he showed an attitude on our lists that is not
acceptable in any way ([1-4] and more). We already gave him a warning,
but this didn't helped.

We really don't have anything against a good argument, but such attitude is
neither wanted nor accepted on our lists (see netiquette [5] and our Code
of Conduct [6]).

This ban will initially last for two weeks. After that period it will be
lifted, but if such events happen again we will reimpose it permanently.

Comments/Problems:

I was really impressed how smooth the installation was, you did a great job
with the new installer, this was my fist ppc installation ever and I got
through the procedure without any problems, even the MacOSX is able too boot.
The autopartioning was also very good and did everything without a problem.

Thank you for the really good work.

The only things currenty not working are the sound and the airport extreme, but
they are currently not supportet, but thats not your fault :).

Thank you again, I'm still very impressed.
