Re: Finnish translation of d-i

2003-11-25 Thread Harri Järvi
Hi,

I've been translating the boot-floppies/dbootstrap to Finnish. I'm very busy
at the moment, so I won't be able to help much with d-i translation even
though I would be very interested to.

Anyway, please write down my email address and contact me later if you would
like me to review your translation or such.

And please join [EMAIL PROTECTED] translators' list and ask for people
to help and review your translation.

The link works for me, but I include the file as an attachement here. I hope
it makes it work. The Finnish language should appear in the language chooser
in the installer (dbootstrap)

Re: Finnish translation of boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap

2003-07-23 Thread Harri Järvi
I got two Finnish speakers to review the translation. I've integrated their
suggestions of fixes. Please commit this new version into CVS.

http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/fi.po

or the patch against the current CVS version

http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/fi.po.diff

Thanks.

Re: Finnish translation of boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap

2003-07-17 Thread Harri Järvi
debian-boot:
I see the fi.po and finnish.src has been committed into cvs.
Please commit also the changes to add finnish in the makefiles and language
chooser:
  boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap/langs/Makefile.genlangs
  boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap/langs/langs.xml

my versions of those files are at
  http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/Makefile.genlangs
  http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/langs.xml

debian-l10n-finnish:
I would still be glad if someone would look through the translation and gave
some feedback. A couple of people have said they would look through it, but
I haven't got any feedback though.

Yours,
Harri Järvi

Re: xf86config

2003-07-15 Thread Harri Järvi
Firstly,

you need to be root to be able to run xf86config and write the XF86Config-4
file. Secondly, you might want to run dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 as
debconf can take care of some X configuration options.

Debian 3.0 can use either XFree86 version 4 or version 3 which makes it a
bit confusing since there can be both XF86Config and XF86Config-4 present at
the same time as well as x configuration tools from version 3 and 4. But if
xf86config makes you correct XF86 version 4 config file then you can just
rename it to be XF86Config-4.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to use Debian GNU/Linux.

Yours,
Harri

Finnish translation of boot-floppies/utilities/dbootstrap

2003-07-09 Thread Harri Järvi
Hi,

the Finnish translation of dbootstrap can be found in the following
location.

http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/fi.po
http://oma.ajatus.org/habazi/debian/dbootstrap/finnish.src

I have updated many of the old translations and translated the untranslated
messages.

I also created the missing finnish.src. I'm not quite sure what the
arch-parameter is for in the language variant item. I made it. Please
correct me if this is wrong.

Bug#74322: boot-floppies: in installation /dev/pcd0 device isn't created

2000-10-08 Thread Harri Järvi

Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A
Severity: normal

Background:
I installed Debian 2.2 on a system with a cdrw-drive attached to parallel
port. I was glad the drivers-disks included drivers for paride and epat
and pcd so that I could install using the cdrw-drive.

Bug:
/dev/cdrom was correctly linked to pcd0 but there was no /dev/pcd0

My workaround:
  I created it myself with mknod /dev/pcd0 b 46 0

Solution:
make the installation create that device-file automatically
