Bug#448205: libxslt1.1: please implement a systemId function
Package: libxslt1.1 Version: 1.1.22-1 Severity: normal Both Xalan and Saxon have a systemId function (in their respective namespaces) to provide the URI of the file that is being transformed. It would be nice to have that function in libxslt1.1 as well, because then DocBook could use it[0]. I would normally provide a patch, but I briefly looked at the code, and it seems non-trivial to fix without breaking the ABI. But I suppose you're more familiar with libxml2 and libxslt1.1 than I. Bug#447519: xterm: [UXTerm] doesn't support *XTerm class in ~/.Xresources
reassign 447519 x11-common retitle 447519 x11-common: [Xresources] doesn't support '*' as a 'common' wildcard found 447519 1:7.3+2 thanks Hi Thomas! Since the problem isn't in xterm, but in Xt resources, I reassigned the bug to x11-common (because it's the package that ships /etc/X11/Xresources). Wildcards in Xt resources aren't supposed to do that (oddly enough). They replace whole leaf-names rather than parts of them. The resource syntax is documented in the X manpage (at the moment I'm on Solaris, and know the the Linux manpage is named different...). Here's the text, for reference: Thank you for the explanation and I agree that it's oddly enough that wildcards behave differently in Xt resources I usually do this a different way, setting $XAPPLRESDIR to my $HOME/app-defaults (and putting individual resource files there). Again, thank you for the hint, but I don't have a lot of Xt resources and I prefer to set them in one single file. I haven't closed this bug yet because I don't really know how to proceed: either we just close this bug as a not-a-bug or we leave this bug opened as a wishlist, tagging it upstream, too. In the latter case, since I think it's quite difficult that Xt resources will be changed to use 'common' wildcards, the bug is eligible for a wontfix tag, too. Bug#448204: perl: pod2man loses =head2 starting ' or .
Package: perl Version: 5.8.8-11 Severity: normal Tags: patch File: /usr/bin/pod2man The file foo.pod below processed with pod2man foo.pod | man -l - produces Some text. Some text. where I hoped it would include the two =head2 lines as headings. I noticed this in the docs of Gtk2::Ex::DBI (from cpan) where the 'destroy' method subheading under the BUGS section doesn't come out. I think the troff generated by pod2man ends up with the heading text at the start of a line, so a leading . or ' is interpreted as a request. Apparently groff in compatibility mode ignores unknown requests, but you can see errors with say pod2man foo.pod | groff -man /dev/null gives standard input:133: warning: `destroy'' not defined (probable missing space after `de') standard input:136: warning: `deb' not defined (probable missing space after `de') I think pod2man's .Sh macro can avoid the problem with a \ zero-width space, per diff below. This would be like what groff's .SH does (/usr/share/groff/1.18.1/tmac/an-old.tmac). Although .Sh currently has \fB as the start of the line, apparently troff, and groff in compatibility mode, will see through such font settings and consider what follows to still be at the start of the line. Bug#448203: resolved
I guess the cause was that we mixed stable and testing. I removed /etc/apt/preferences and stable from sources.list and then dpkg -P libpth2 gnupg-agent gpgsm dirmngr apt-get -f install fixed the problem (and reinstalled gnupg-agent gpgsm dirmngr). If there are no other problems the bug can be closed. In testing there is only libpth20, however in stable there is also libpth2. Hmm, stables libpth2 is a virtual package provided by libpth20. Bug#448171: Asterisk crash when trying a call transfer while in voicemail
Tzafrir Cohen schrieb: Is the crash reproducable? Yes, it really is. If so, please: apt-get install asterisk-dbg and add the following to /etc/default/asterisk : AST_DUMPCORE=yes CORE_PATTERN='/tmp/core.%e.%t' Note that it is recommended to remove those settings from your asterisk defaults file once you're done debugging, as the the second one affect core dumping of every process: not just Asterisk. Which build-deps were you missing in the end? As you can see in my bug report output, I did not have libtool (= 1.5-2) and automake1.9 /in the end/ you did have libtool and automake1.9 installed though. However after reading the install log again, I agree with Junichi that this looks like an aptitude bug. I would suspect this is related to the switch from aptitude to APT to handle automatically installed dependencies. It looks to me like a bad pkgstates file generated by an old version of aptitude. Was this system originally installed as etch or sarge? Daniel First it was sarge, then I ugraded to etch/testing - etch(stable) - sid - lenny/testing That's probably the problem, then. Old aptitudes (I think the sarge timeframe suffered from this) would sometimes decide that packages you had installed with other frontends were automatically installed. This shouldn't happen any more (mostly), but I can't fix state files that have already been corrupted. Running aptitude keep-all is one way to cancel all the spurious removals. Daniel

Bug#448213: sympa: [INTL:fr] French debconf templates translation update
Package: sympa Version: N/A Severity: wishlist Tags: patch l10n Please find attached the french debconf templates update, proofread by the debian-l10n-french mailing list contributors. If you do not already use it, you might consider using the podebconf-report-po utility, which helps warning translators about changes when you modify some debconf templates in your packages. The usual policy when using it is sending a warning to translators when you plan to upload a version of your package with debconf templates changes (even typo corrections). Then leave about one week for them to update their files (several translation teams have a QA process which requires time). podebconf-report-po will take care of sending the translators the needed material as well as getting the translators adresses from the PO files. All you have to do is just using the utility..:-) Example use (from your package build tree): $ podebconf-report-po This will go through debian/po/*.po files, find those needing an update, extract the translators data from these files and prepare a mail to send to these translators (you can also use the --languageteam switch to also mail the mail addresses listed in Language-Team field). You can also use this utility to request for new translations: $ podebconf-report-po --call This will send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with all the needed information and material for new translators to add new languages to your supported languages.
