Bug#529720: crm114: Changes in .css files leads to data loss

2009-05-21 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: crm114
Version: 20090423-1
Severity: critical
Justification: causes serious data loss

Changes (again...) in .css files just made me lose about one full day of
mail...

All non whitelisted mails were apparently just trashed after the line, in my
.procmailrc, where they're piped to crm114.

Oh, I certainly got warned by mail as there is a NEWS.Debian entry about
this...and I ust apt-listchanges. Unfortunately, that mail got trashed
just like others.

I find such change inacceptable for release and I already imagine what wll
happen to people who upgrade their mail servers from lenny to squeeze.

Actually, even the advice of recreating .css files is another way to lose
data.

I'm really very seriously considering if I should keep on using crm114 if
such changes happen and, at this very moment, I don't think this software
verson is suitable for release in Debian.

I intend to orphan the abcde package.

probably one month ago I tried to contact Jesus Climent

and did not manage.  did he stop following the package or is only his
 address giving problems?

I don't think this is the right approach: you have no rights to orphan
the package you do not maintain.

If you need such things, there is a team created ad-hoc for it: MIA
team. please contact us before take other actions like this one. The
mail to use is in CC to this email. We will pursuit a maintainer
contact process to understand if the maintainer is really
missing-in-action, and AFTER THAT we will orphan packages.

For such things (and for non-essential pacakges) 1 month is too short.

Hi all,
My host system has apt-listchanges and apt-listbugs installed (because its

the vserver guest. This meant apt-get was unable to run, as it couldnt find the

It would be good if newvserver could either avoid those files, or suggest
installing the related packages as it runs.

Thanks for the tool!

2009-05-21 Thread yuuha
I'm in the same situation with Kohei.
My system is debian lenny, amd64 and locale is ja_JP.UTF-8.

The same error has occurred when updating addons.

I found what is wrong.
Simply URL is wrong.
In my situation, Iceweasel Add-on Manager searches
https://addons.mozilla.jp/firefox/ and tries to install same domain.
But addons.mozilla.jp does not have xpi files and they are in such URL
as https://addons.mozilla.org/ja/firefox/addon/ .

No, disable that option in your kernel, and rebuild it, you should not
be using that configuration anymore.

I will get over Marco's rudeness, and point to Greg that 'I am not using

this error message. So the problem is not mine; As I understand it is
not udev's problem, so it may be a kernel's problem, or anyone's who
uses this deprecated sysfs layout. So why Marco did not reassign the bug

Simple: if there is no reasonable upgrade path, you need to change the
binary package name. And of course, to do that in a way that does not
install the new version automatically. Bonus points go for changing the
binary names as well, so that both versions can be installed at once on
the system.

well, I agree that 1 month is too short, but since my email bounced back

try to understand 'numerically' the reason of my impression so I can

on the base of 'important' bugs I would _not_ conclude that the maintainer

There is also an intermediate way to contact the maintainer: file a
normal bug against the package with title should this package be
orphaned (google for it for references) in order to explore the
possibility of package orphaning. If no replies come, then that's
another point in favour of orphaning. This also avoid the mail bouce
problem, and it's a public statement, anyone can see

Maybe it might be useful to retitle this bug, and reassign it abcde
following the should ... concept above.

by the way: I see Jesús has an account on LinkedIn...  maybe we can

and there seems to be many other social networks where Jesus is in, so

Bug#529720: crm114: Changes in .css files leads to data loss

2009-05-21 Thread Milan Zamazal
JM == Josselin Mouette j...@debian.org writes:

JM Simple: if there is no reasonable upgrade path, you need to
JM change the binary package name. And of course, to do that in a
JM way that does not install the new version automatically.

This may be a good idea. Do you know about packages with similar
properties (i.e. changing their data formats incompatibly) so that I
don't invent my own binary package naming scheme? I can think about
PostgreSQL, but this is bound to upstream versions which is not the case
of crm114 (it doesn't change its data format with each upstream
version).

JM Bonus points go for changing the binary names as well, so that
JM both versions can be installed at once on the system.

I hate changing binary names across releases.

 Simply URL is wrong.
In my situation, Iceweasel Add-on Manager searches
https://addons.mozilla.jp/firefox/ and tries to install same domain.
But addons.mozilla.jp does not have xpi files and they are in such URL
 as https://addons.mozilla.org/ja/firefox/addon/ .

I still can't reproduce. Please go to the about:config url, then, in the
フィルタ field, type getAddons, and for the resulting set of
preferences, check the Status (状態) column. My guess is that some of them
are user set (ユーザ設定) for you, instead of being default (初期設定値).
You can go back to default by selecting reset (リセット) in the context
menu for each item (right-click on the item to get the context menu).

Please tell me if that solves your problem.

Cheers,

I hope I can try it tomorrow at work on a bunch of different systems,

Works already fine in Qemu on my system.

Hi all,

I have pushed out Syslinux 3.81-pre4, which is now a release candidate
for 3.81. This version includes halt on idle, and so I'm very keen on
getting this tested.

Bug#529734: sqlite3: unusuable on Hurd due to locking problems

2009-05-21 Thread Marc Dequènes (Duck)

Package: sqlite3
Version: 3.6.13-1
Severity: important

Coin,

sqlite3 is able to choose the file locking method properly according
to the system on which it runs, but unfortunately doesn't have any
knowledge about the Hurd, which is treated like Linux. The attached
very small patch just modify the method selection on Hurd only; you
can drop it in your debian/patches directory as-is.

Without this patch, any write attempt to the db file fails, so sqlite3
is completely unsusuable. With this patch it works very well, and the
test suite from libdbd-sqlite3-perl gives no error. Would you please
add this patch to your next upload (and help push it upstream too) ?

Regards.

Bug#517986: After change sources.list to debian mirror can't use aptitude

2009-05-21 Thread Csanyi Pal

Hi,

I tried to install Debian GNU/Linux Lenny on this hardware
using the Netinstall CD too but without any success.

I get an Error message at stage 'Configuring APT'
or 'Installing APT sources' - I can't remember now -
after the new linux-image-2.6.26-2-486 was installed
successfully.

The Error message says about that that the Installation at APT
failed.

So I think it's probably a hardware issue and not an Aptitude bug.

Bug#529736: libdbd-sqlite3-perl: FTBFS due to locking failure in the sqlite3 code

2009-05-21 Thread Marc Dequènes (Duck)

Package: libdbd-sqlite3-perl
Version: 1.25-1
Severity: important

Coin,

Unfortunately, sqlite3 does not select the right file locking
mechanism for the Hurd, and every db opération fails miserably. I
already filled a bug on sqlite3 (see #529734), but libdbd-sqlite3-perl
ships embedded sqlite3.{c,h} files, which then must be fixed too.
Waiting for the sqlite3 patch to be applied in Debian, then pushed
upstream, updated by libdbd-sqlite3-perl's upstream, and then finaly
uploaded in Debian, seems to be a long path which would take years, so
i decided to work on both fronts.

I've attached the small patch i made with the minor modification to
your debian/rules to use a patching system at run-time. Could you
please introduce it in your next upload (and help push it upstream
too) ?

Regards.

There have been a bunch of issues on the hurd-i386 buildd with
 filezilla, gamin, nautilus-share, wordnet.

Those are all bugs in the package themself. The problem is that
they mix 1.5 and 2.2 version code. Most likely aclocal.m4 did
not get updated.

Please file bugs against the packages themself if they
don't have a bug yet.

Hm. What might control that? I do have both subversion and mercurial

Hardly. I have subversion, mercurial, git, cvs and rcs installed, and
they don't interfere with each other.

What VC information do you get in the modeline when you visit a new file

If it's in a Mercurial-controlled directory, it shows up with Hg-0
(i.e. revision 0 for that file).

So Emacs thinks the not-yet-existent file is registered. Do you use the
mercurial.el file that comes with mercurial-common? When I load it, I
get Hg:2813 (or whatever the most recent revision is) in the modeline
for new files.

Once, Run Everywhere). So, I suggest to put a workaround in the JRE
package by adding the proposed symbol link, so that at least Debian
users are not hit by the JRE bug.

Bye
  Hansi

Subject: [PATCH] Create interface for random number generator and use it
everywhere

Don't use rand()/srand() at all -- they are very weak. Provide our
wrappers for random()/srandom() and make utility function that will
generate seed for srandom.

Rework MIT magic cookie generation: consume 4 bytes of input in one
pass -- random() should produce values that are usable for this purpose.

Bug#529743: with KVM 85 my guest jump to 100% cpu usage

2009-05-21 Thread Nico Prenzel
Package: kvm
Version: 85+dfsg-3

Hello packagers,

I've upgraded from kvm 84 to 85. After this upgrade all my guests (debian
2.6.26-2-686, windows 2003) jump to 100% cpu usage. So the machine gets
unresponsiveness.
Could you consider to package the latest kvm release (86)?

Thanks.

Bug#526173: clamav-milter: initscript fails to start, options are deprecated

2009-05-21 Thread martin f krafft
also sprach Micah Anderson mi...@debian.org [2009.04.29.2005 +0200]:
First all previous command-line options seem to have mysteriously
disappeared and no documentation about where they went, or what they
should be replaced by in the config file. Pretty much any command-line
option causes milter to not start.

I used to have

  --max-children=10 -olq --dont-wait --noreject

The options map to the following directives in
/etc/clamav/clamav-milter.conf:

-lLocalNet (I just left it disabled)
  -o?
  -q?
  --norejectOnInfected (Blackhole|Accept|Quarantine)
  --dont-wait ?
  --max-children?

I think -o and -q are not needed with the new On* directives.
--dont-wait and --max-children, well, I don't know about those. It
might be that it uses clamd's MaxThreads, but we'll see.

A few other notes to make it work:

1. disable $OPTIONS and $SOCKET in /etc/default/clamav-milter.
Configure the socket with the MilterSocket config directive.

2. Leave $USE_POSTFIX if you need it.

When clamav-milter starts, it'll warn:

Starting Sendmail milter plugin for ClamAV: clamav-milterWARNING: Ignoring
option local:/var/spool/postfix/clamav/clamav-milter.ctl

but this can be ignored. Only a rewrite of the init.d script will
be able to properly fix that.

Bug#529744: Seems to be leaking file descriptors, leads to 100% CPU usage

2009-05-21 Thread Andras Korn

Hi,

I noticed that apt-cacher-ng's CPU usage goes to 100% and stays there after
a few days of running. stracing it revealed the following:

Bug#529720: crm114: Changes in .css files leads to data loss

2009-05-21 Thread Christian Perrier
Quoting Milan Zamazal (p...@debian.org):
CP == Christian Perrier bubu...@debian.org writes:

CP Oh, I certainly got warned by mail as there is a NEWS.Debian
CP entry about this...and I ust apt-listchanges. Unfortunately,
CP that mail got trashed just like others.

If you want to prevent such problems, configure apt-listchanges to
display information before installation and to ask for confirmation.

Just as Joss answered, apt-listchanges should not be an excuse to
break existing setups.

CP I find such change inacceptable for release and I already
CP imagine what wll happen to people who upgrade their mail servers
 CP from lenny to squeeze.

This has nothing to do with Debian. It's an upstream decision. It's
definitely not popular and if you hate it so much, there are some
options what you can do: 1. complain upstream; 2. use other classifier
 than crm114; 3. fork crm114 and develop and maintain your own derivate;
 4. write a .css file converter.

The duty of the Debian maintainer is to smooth down impacts from
upstream changes. One of the recognized qualities of Debian is such
stability. So, we need to prepare our stable releases to avoid such breakages.

Another is probably bringing feedback to upstream that such changes
are very unwished by their users.

I admit that, as I'm using unstable, I'm opened to such breakage and,
even though that costed me a full day of worthy mail (which in turn
could cost the various parts of Debian I work on several consequences
because I may have missed important mails). That I can live with, in
some way.

But, at least, I expect my problems to benefit other users and
particularly to avoid what I consider to be enhanced to enter testing
and then break much more setups.

CP I'm really very seriously considering if I should keep on using
CP crm114 if such changes happen and, at this very moment, I don't
CP think this software verson is suitable for release in Debian.

I can understand your rage but as I've explained above I can't see in
your report what I should fix in the Debian package.

At the very minimum, a critical priority debconf note displayed when
upgrading from a pre-20090423 version would be a good way to try your
best preventing the problem to appear. Debconf notes are discouraged
but I think that, here, we have a case where it would be better having
it than nothing.

I also came back on the NEWS.Debian entry and I think it is not
alarming enough as it mentions on some architectures (which a
careless reader would translate to probably not on the most common
ones) and it just mentions that CRM114 might not work but not
thatmails piped through it will vanish.

Maybe more people will come up with better suggestions. I really think
that this bug should remain release critical so that it gets the
deserved attention by both you and other developers (I bet that many
use crm114 and many clever people can come up with good
suggestionsthis is also what RC bugs are about).

Please accept some forms of apologies for showing up my rage in the
bug report (I admit I was) but also please don't take the RC bug as a
personal attack but more as a way to help you to provide the best
possible package for that software.

I have just uploaded to unstable. the ony modification that I have done
is that I have put the maintainer field in the control file back
to QA, and adapted the changelog accordingly. The reason is that in
my understanding the maintainer should be an debian member (or
group account). The changlog entries of your modificatons carry
of course your name. That means that #503528 is still open;
I am putting bug #503528 in cc to this mail to indicate that
you are taking care of that package now.

Thanks a lot for your contribution to debian! -Ralf.

Thanks for reporting upstream. Unfortunately the workaround is only

Sure. Are you using a Debian packaged JRE? The idea is to reassign the

Bug#529745: python-gdal: can't import gdal_array

I've installed python gdal, it does not import some of the modules

Here's an output from python:

I installed the whole gdal package from sources and that solves my
problem. So I guess something is malfunctioning with debian packages.

Thanks for the great work,

Bug#529750: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64: coretemp reports too-high temperatures on E6600

2009-05-21 Thread David Buckley
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64
Version: 2.6.26-13
Severity: normal

Hi; I had an ACPI critical temperature error which caused a reboot
(probably a different bug to this one), and so started looking at my
temperatures. Notably, my coretemp readings are worryingly high - on
the stock cooler I currently have:

CPU Temp:+49.5C (high = +80.0C, hyst = +75.0C) sensor = diode
Core 0: +78.0C (high = +78.0C, crit = +100.0C)
Core 1: +78.0C (high = +78.0C, crit = +100.0C)

(Read while burnP6 is running twice and my big 120mm fan is blasting
the CPU HSF.)

The first is from w83627ehf sensor on my ABIT IB9 motherboard (i965).

Worried about this, I tried the 2.6.25 kernel (same results). That kernel
is not tainted by fglrx.

BIOS seems to agree roughly with the CPU temp. Booting Windows and
running SpeedFan also agrees with this, however Speedfan reports the
core temperatures to be around 60-62C while running the Windows burnP6
twice under the same conditions.

I theorise that coretemp is overestimating by 15-20C for some reason.
I'm told that those temperatures should never be more than 15 or so
degrees higher than the BIOS reported one.

 Italian tamperament most certainly :-)

linux-2.6 in Testing is out of date, we had some arch troubles
to really let latest 2.6.29 migrate, use 2.6.29-5 from unstable,
that one is supported.

Bug#529752: urlgrabber file objects are not iterable

2009-05-21 Thread Enrico Zini
Package: python-urlgrabber
Version: 3.1.0-4

Hello,

thank you for packaging urlgrabber.

The documentation of urlopen says:

If a progress object or throttle specifications exist, then
a special file object will be returned that supports them.
The file object can be treated like any other file object.

I read The file object can be treated like any other file object. and
I happily try to iterate it:

  Traceback (most recent call last):

Then I cry, because every time someone lies in the documentation, god
kills several kittens :(

2009-05-21 Thread Mikko Rasa
Package: gxmms2
Version: 0.7.0-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The gxmms2 package still depends on libxmmsclient4, which has been superseded
by libxmmsclient5 in the 0.6DrMattDestruction release. Furthermore,
libxmmsclient5 conflicts with libxmmsclient4, and the older version can not
be used to communicate with the newer server. Since xmms2-client-cli also
needs the client library, the only option is to remove gxmms2 and upgrade

Bug#529704: [Pkg-phototools-devel] Bug#529704: can no longer download photos from RAM on Canon Powershot S50

2009-05-21 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Anne C. Hanna or...@ugcs.caltech.edu (20/05/2009):
 Package: gphoto2
 Version: 2.4.5-2

I have a Canon Powershot S50, and I use gphoto2 with the standard hook
script to have it function as a webcam. But some recent upgrade seems
to have messed up the ability to download photos from the RAM. When I
run the script everything seems to go just as before, except that the
photos don't download to the camera. The file just doesn't appear.

Hello Anne,

I can't see any relevant to that problem in the changelog of libgphoto2
2.4.6, which you can find in unstable, but you may want to try that
version anyway?

Oh, maybe that one?
| libgphoto2:
|* Fixed a problem during file retrieval which causes Canon Normal
| --capture-image-and-download errors, handle CR2 and CRW mimetypes.

Downgrading to version 2.4.0-1 (and downgrading the gphoto2 libraries
appropriately as well) seems to restore the previous functionality.

What if you try 2.4.1-3, which is available in stable? That might help
narrowing down the range of commits which might have introduced your
bug.

I don't think I really know how to diagnose this, but if there are any
tests I can run to help out please let me know. I've attached the
scripts I use to run the webcam in case they can be of any help.

I'm getting in touch with upstream authors. ;)

KiBi.

 Hi Michal,

Could you please recheck the status of the xmonad issue you reported

With gunstep-back0.16 I do not see any offset messages in the

any character - probably all characters that are present in any font,
not just the font that is selected.

I think I am running the art backend because a package was installed for it.

to be a long path which would take years, so i decided to work on both
 fronts.

Thanks for your work!

I've attached the small patch i made with the minor modification to your
debian/rules to use a patching system at run-time. Could you please
introduce it in your next upload (and help push it upstream too) ?

Patch applied, bug forwarded upstream.

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#525166: iceweasel: fail installing of add-on.

  Simply URL is wrong.
In my situation, Iceweasel Add-on Manager searches

But addons.mozilla.jp does not have xpi files and they are in such URL

I still can't reproduce. Please go to the about:config url, then, in the
フィルタ field, type getAddons, and for the resulting set of
preferences, check the Status (状態) column. My guess is that some of them
are user set (ユーザ設定) for you, instead of being default (初期設定値).
You can go back to default by selecting reset (リセット) in the context
menu for each item (right-click on the item to get the context menu).

Please tell me if that solves your problem.

Ouch.

Thanks for the report, I wasn't going to upload 1.3.38 to sid anyway as it

I consider using bundled sqlite a very serious bug exactly for the

Who knows, the hurd locking problem may already have been fixed in

Bug#500626: [pkg-fso-maint] Bug#500626: xserver-xglamo: fonts are very large in e.g. midori

2009-05-21 Thread Joachim Breitner
Hi,

Am Donnerstag, den 21.05.2009, 00:32 +0200 schrieb gregor herrmann:
Summary:
Setting the dpi in ~/.Xresources _almost_ works ...
Is matchbox-panel the only exception so far?
I've seen it only in matchbox-desktop's title bar and in
mb-applet-menu-launcher, but I haven't done much testing of
  applications.

Now I've started all other applications on my FR, and they all seem
to work with this setting. With some details:

 * gpicview has tiny fonts in the titles of floating dialog boxes but
   they are useless anyway.
 * midori works fine, but again floating dialog boxes
   (Edit-Preferences) have a tiny title.
 * The same with epdfviewer.
 * The same with mumpot.

So there seems to be a pattern - titles of floating/independent
dialog windows are tiny; in practice that's no problem but there
seems to be some underlying problem.

Without seeing it myself, I assume that these titles are rendered by
matchbox-window-manager, which maybe uses fixed pixel-based sizes – just
as matchbox-panel. I assume this problem would then not occur with other
window managers.

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#528417: After upgrading to KDE 4...

2009-05-21 Thread Ferry Toth
This appears on my system after upgrading to KDE 4.

The OpenVPN plug in in knetworkmanager does not work anymore.

The upgrade proces did not copy my openvpn setting to kde4. After
manually entering the settings if find that certain essential settings
are not saved while others are.

The result is I can not connect to the office with KDE 4. Starting a
gnome session the gnome network manager still works.

Bug#529372: #529372 transmission: Contains and uses embedded code copy: libevent

2009-05-21 Thread Charles Kerr
I'd be happy to use such a patch upstream, since it dovetails with
upstream ticket http://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/2070.

Could you tweak the patch s.t. it decides whether or not to user
third-party/libevent/ based on whether or not libevent 1.4x headers
and libs are present on the system already?

Bug#529760: add php5-suhosin as a recommendation

2009-05-21 Thread Thijs Kinkhorst
Package: php5
Severity: wishlist

Perhaps we should add php5-suhosin as a Recommends of php5. To me it seems
altogether wise to install this extension and in its default state it doesn't
do much explicit harm. Doing so would stimulate more people to secure their
PHP5 setups. If you really don't want or need it, of course it's easy to
remove it because it's not a hard depends.

Comments?

Bug#528685: gthumb not importing photos

2009-05-21 Thread Bo Forslund

Here is a screendump of gthumb opening a camera flash card.

http://www.abc.se/~m10617/screendump.png

The smaller window (100olymp) shows thumbnails of a bundle of pictures
in Olumpus Raw Format.

The bigger window is gthumb showing a bundle of thumbnails from the same
camera card.

The Importera bilder window shows that gthumb can see some files in orf
format. Kunde inte öppna at the no enter sign translates to couldn't
open.

The system seems to recognize the Olympus camera raw format and
translate it to thumbnails, but it can't import anything from the card.

It is possible to use an xterm (or kill X and run in console mode) and use
cp /media/NO\ NAME/dcim/100olymp/*.
rm -rf /media/NO\ NAME/dcim/100olymp/

and so on.

Bug#529720: crm114: Changes in .css files leads to data loss

2009-05-21 Thread Milan Zamazal
CP == Christian Perrier bubu...@debian.org writes:

CP The duty of the Debian maintainer is to smooth down impacts from
CP upstream changes. One of the recognized qualities of Debian is
CP such stability. So, we need to prepare our stable releases to
CP avoid such breakages.

CP Another is probably bringing feedback to upstream that such
CP changes are very unwished by their users.

This is not the first time .css format change has happened. And yes, it
was reported and discussed upstream in the past. They are willing to
avoid such changes but it may not always be easy. More pressure
(i.e. from more users) on the upstream maintainers may or may not
improve things. The .css format is generally not considered as very
fixed, e.g. it's not portable across architectures after all.

There were other upgrade problems in the past. For instance, I
personally don't simply believe .crm scripts from the last version work
with a new one without changes and I always test that crm114 still works
after the upgrade. I'd say that backward compatibility is not a crm114
feature and one must expect problems when upgrading crm114 to a new
version. Of course, a user may not think about crm114 when typing
`apt-get upgrade'. This wouldn't be a big problem if crm114 wasn't
typically used for things like e-mail delivery.

So the primary problem is how to _warn_ users that crm114 gets upgraded
with higher than casual risk of breaking things. The current practice
of warning about important changes in NEWS.Debian seemed to work well so
far. But I agree it may not be enough and I'm open to suggestions how
to improve it.

CP But, at least, I expect my problems to benefit other users and
CP particularly to avoid what I consider to be enhanced to enter
CP testing and then break much more setups.

Sure, you brave unstable users get hit by such problems and by reporting
them you prevent wider impacts.

CP At the very minimum, a critical priority debconf note displayed
CP when upgrading from a pre-20090423 version would be a good way
CP to try your best preventing the problem to appear. Debconf notes
CP are discouraged but I think that, here, we have a case where it
CP would be better having it than nothing.

Right now, I like this suggestion better than the binary package name
changes. Some might not like it, but I may just try to add it and we'll
see what happens.

CP I also came back on the NEWS.Debian entry and I think it is not
CP alarming enough as it mentions on some architectures (which a
CP careless reader would translate to probably not on the most
CP common ones) and it just mentions that CRM114 might not work
CP but not thatmails piped through it will vanish.

Good remark.

CP Maybe more people will come up with better suggestions.

If no applicable precedent in other Debian packages is presented here,
I'll probably discuss the problem on debian-mentors.

CP I really think that this bug should remain release critical so
CP that it gets the deserved attention by both you and other
CP developers (I bet that many use crm114 and many clever people
CP can come up with good suggestionsthis is also what RC bugs
CP are about).

Of course, I don't get rid of RC bugs without discussing them first.

CP Please accept some forms of apologies for showing up my rage
CP in the bug report (I admit I was) but also please don't take the
CP RC bug as a personal attack but more as a way to help you to
CP provide the best possible package for that software.

There is no need to apologize. I just missed identification of the
_Debian package_ problem in your initial report and you've fixed it
now. :-) Thanks for the report.

I'm sorry, there's one more thing necessary for complete Sacado support.
The attached adds sacado to the packages and library packages lists in
debian/rules (and includes the previous patch).

With these changes, deal.II builds with Trilinos support.

 Found the problem. packages/sacado/src/Makefile.am treats
Sacado_config.h differently, putting it into /usr/include instead
of /usr/include/trilinos. The attached patch works around this by
installing everything from /usr/include (i.e. that one file)
 into /usr/include/trilinos.
