Bug#570336: bacula-director-mysql: MySQL database upgrade from 3.0.3-3 fails

2010-02-17 Thread Stephen Kitt
Package: bacula-director-mysql
Version: 5.0.0-4
Severity: important

Hi,

I’m guessing this must be related to something specific to my setup,
since others have apparently upgraded without encoutering this
problem.

When attempting to upgrade the database to the schema expected by
version 5, dbconfig-common failed because the first line in
/usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/bacula-director-mysql/upgrade/mysql/5.0.0
failed:
ALTER TABLE JobMedia DROP Stripe ;
On my system the JobMedia table didn’t have a Stripe column.

I added the column manually and retried the upgrade, which proceeded
without further hiccups.

Regards,

Stephen

Bug#570335: openoffice.org-base: Base wizards for new forms and table do not start

2010-02-17 Thread Tim Richardson
Package: openoffice.org-base
Version: 1:3.2.0-1
Severity: normal

Trying to use a wizard to create a new table or form does not work.
Clicking on the button gets no response.

This is for a local MySQL native database.

Creating forms using the editor works fine.

The dowloaded josm-tested.jar behaves in the same way with openjdk and sun's
jvm.

I've installed a couple other java packages with graphical user interfaces :

* carmetal stops at startup with a NullPointerException
* pauker start up fine (but the menus don't work)
* eclipse ganymede works fine

Could this be a window manager / desktop environment issue? I'm using awesome
and have a very lightweight environment (no gnome desktop or KDE).

Has it been decided whether to package dnssec-conf or, if not, how dnssec

Right.

That wording would be an improvement from the perspective
of conveying more information. However, also changing the suffix
(before, we changed the prefix) would be disruptive to those who
matched against / differ$/. Though note that all POSIX requires
is that the diagnostic list the two file names and the word "differ".
Speaking of conveying information, diff exits with status "2" when
it encounters differences like this that it does not display.

I don't have a strong preference.

Bug#257096: postfix: noexec /var breaks postfix chroot

2010-02-17 Thread Adrian Irving-Beer
retitle 257096 postfix: noexec /var breaks postfix chroot
thanks

I've been going through my old reported bugs today and I'm wondering,
is this bug still current?

I notice I have a Postfix server (2.5.5-1.1 lenny) that has a noexec
/var, and yet Postfix seems to be working fine with a relayhost
specified by name rather than IP.

Normally I would just mark this as done, but I notice there are still
libraries in /var/spool/postfix/lib, so I'm curious if / how the
chroot + noexec problem was solved.

Bug#570333: RFA: mathml

2010-02-17 Thread jamesb
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

i thought a metapackge for installing mathml (fonts for iceweasal/firefox)
would be a convenience
to have mathml fonts display.

also I'd like to report that there are rendering issues with this page

http://cnx.org/content/m18192/latest/?collection=col10624

I mailed this message in respect of the packages needed for mathml..

latex-xft-fonts
ttf-opensymbol
xfonts-mathml

Since I cannot find anything related in orphaned packages or package for
adoption, I thought I may
bring to light relevant sources for mathml if it helps in any way..

The site I mention at the top (cnx.org), I believe is using proper mathml
notation, and points to
a site to help install mathml..

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/fonts/#1.9
 ^ points to http://www.stixfonts.org
 and http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mathml/fonts/stix/STIXBeta.zip

Stix Project I never heard of.. and looking inside it is a bunch of .otf files
^can this be another potential package(the readme in it mentions 2007)

I hope this message is helpful so that if someone wants mathml, they can
install a packagename
supporting it.. also I have little knowledge if there are "integrating"
works(with iceweasal) and pardon
if this message sounds redundant, but I see no mathml easily installed on
debian.(and currently mathml
pages i'd like to see are not rendering properly)

Bug#570334: php-clamav: [INTL:fr] French debconf templates translation update

2010-02-17 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: php-clamav
Version: N/A
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch l10n

Please find attached the french debconf templates update, proofread by the
debian-l10n-french mailing list contributors.

If you do not already use it, you might consider using the
"podebconf-report-po" utility, which helps warning translators about
changes when you modify some debconf templates in your packages.

The usual policy when using it is sending a warning to translators
when you plan to upload a version of your package with debconf
templates changes (even typo corrections). Then leave about one week
for them to update their files (several translation teams have a QA
process which requires time).

podebconf-report-po will take care of sending the translators the
needed material as well as getting the translators adresses from the
PO files. All you have to do is just using the utility..:-)

Example use (from your package build tree):

$ podebconf-report-po

This will go through debian/po/*.po files, find those needing an
update, extract the translators data from these files and prepare a
mail to send to these translators (you can also use the
"--languageteam" switch to also mail the mail addresses listed in
"Language-Team" field).

You can also use this utility to request for new translations:

$ podebconf-report-po --call

This will send a mail to debian-i...@lists.debian.org with all the

Bug#570273: debian-installer: netboot stops after loading pxelinux.cfg/default

All right, here we go.

I attached 3 tftpd logs:
p5q.failboot with P5Q-EM and fresh squeeze netboot.tar.gz
p5q.ok boot with P5Q-EM and vesamenu.c32 commented out
cuv4x.fail boot with CUV4X-EA and fresh squeeze netboot.tar.gz

# md5sum /srv/tftp/pxelinux.0 /srv/tftp/pxelinux.cfg/default
/srv/tftp/debian-installer/i386/boot-screens/vesamenu.c32
5154a8b498f13dad5a556951ab769c3c /srv/tftp/pxelinux.0
1cd0d0cbe3ac8d0f695ac2903c8666a5 /srv/tftp/pxelinux.cfg/default
1fe1ac1555cf28b17d8c90e36c92c39a
/srv/tftp/debian-installer/i386/boot-screens/vesamenu.c32

The pxelinux.0 md5 equals to syslinux 2:3.83+dfsg-3 pxelinux.0 md5.
The vesamenu.c32 md5 equals to debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso
vesamenu.c32 md5.

Just to be sure my tftp server cannot serve anything different:
# find / -name pxelinux.0 -print -o -name vesamenu.c32 -print
/srv/tftp/debian-installer/i386/pxelinux.0
/srv/tftp/debian-installer/i386/boot-screens/vesamenu.c32
/srv/tftp/pxelinux.0

Since you said nothing has been changed, I also tested
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/dists/lenny/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz
Same behaviour - freeze after loading vesamenu.c32. So, to some extent,
I can confirm that nothing has been changed :) Of course, pxelinux.0,
pxelinux.cfg/default and vesamenu.c32 have different md5sums.

2010-02-17 Thread Gael Varoquaux
That's clearly not a Mayavi problem. It should probably be moved on to
VTK. However, I suspect that they won't do anything about it: the gl2ps
approach is intrinsicly limited.

# wait and check gmail, :

# Check the logs, script working ;) but mutt not :( for some reasons

Bug#567239: , grub-pc 1.98~20100128-1.2

2010-02-17 Thread Jos van Wolput

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98~20100128-1.2 (Sid)
System: Debian Sid, using runit, sysvinit, file-rc and KMS enabled.
Kernel: linux-image-2.6.32-2-amd64 (v.2.6.32-8)

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 QL64 dual-core.

After upgrading to version 1.98~20100128-1.2 it's no longer necessary to use
linux16.
This latest version boots cleanly!

If there are no other complaints, this bug could be closed.

Thanks.

can you try changing your indent mode to the previous default? (add-hook
'haskell-mode-hook 'turn-on-haskell-indent) instead of (add-hook
'haskell-mode-hook 'turn-on-haskell-indentation)

I will probably flip this back, since it seems that the older default
worked better... Especially if that helps with your issue(s).

There is a nice repository of TeX hyphenation patterns for a number of
languages at http://tug.org/tex-hyphen/ (included in texlive-base, as
well). Would they be suitable for groff as they are, or are any
changes necessary?

Bug#570330: binary_syslinux and binary_grub assume LH_BINARY_IMAGES is singular.

2010-02-17 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: live-helper
Version: 2.0~a7-1
Severity: normal

With --binary-images 'iso usb-hdd', the case dispatch of
"${LH_BINARY_IMAGES}" at

/usr/share/live-helper/helpers/binary_syslinux:365

fails to match, resulting in line 407 of the same file

mkdir -p "${KERNEL_PATH}"

attempting to mkdir the empty string.

Maybe --binary-images only supports a single image type at a time? If
so, this behaviour isn't a bug. I expected it to support "iso
usb-hdd" only because it's a plural (*images*, not image).

PS: I'd have isolated the problem faster if live-helper's case
dispatches had a fallback clause along the lines of

*) if test -n "$DEBUGGING_IS_ON"
then echo >&2 ": Execution probably shouldn't reach this
point."
   fi;;

...where is a different short string in each case. Then,
when seeing the problem in lh build --debug, I could have simply
grepped for that magic hash.

Better than a magic hash would be "${BASH_SOURCE[0]}:$LINENO", but
it's a bashism.

Maybe all of that is trivial, onkly one has to do the actual *work*.

If you know how to package fonts just look into the rules files of
the packages and check what is needed there.

I can implement most things easily in perl in the tpm2deb family, but
I need clear directions *what* to do.

And I don't want to move fonts around arbitrarily.

Why not use an installation generated uuid like that of the root

just about any other system identifier.

Banshee media player that are community contributed and maintained.

By bringing various third-party extensions into this one project, we can help
each other maintain them and keep them up to date with the latest Banshee API.

This is meant to be a low-barrier-to-entry way to start, develop, and publish a
Banshee extension.

I guess it needs to require gnus.

probably a good idea indeed.

OK. 2 guesses:

1) It looks like python-defaults and python-support at least are at
the same version in unstable and testing, so probably not a timing
issue (with a new version getting uploaded behind your back). Maybe
your build environment was lagging behind a bit? Given the python2.6
thingies going on, it *could* have been related, but it's probably
not, read on.

2) One big difference between local and buildd builds is the use of -B
(as option to dpkg-buildpackage) on the buildds. And if you try to
locally build your package with -b, it builds successfully; if you try
to locally build your package with -B, it will fail as it did on the
buildds.

Hi,

I just re-uploaded this package, stripping the stray file
from upstream's tarball beforehand instead of trying to
clean it up later. (Leaving it in would probably cause
byte-compilation explosions on installation.) I find it sort
of bizarre that the build did not fail on my local machine
while it did on the buildds, however. Do you have any idea
why that was the case?

Bug#561206: 561206

2010-02-17 Thread Lachlan
I've got my ati machine back in action but now i'm having worse problems.

My hd3870 is running fairly well with the open source driver but
running gnome-shell the desktop is corrupted as well as slow and
unusable. the overlay looks normal but the windows, the desktop and
icons in the top panel tray are corrupted with either black or
gibberish looking shapes.

Compositing in metacity is running much better on the open source
driver than it used to on the proprietary driver.

running CLUTTER_VBLANK=none gnome-shell --replace doesn't help for me right now.

at the moment i think there is something wrong with my config for my
screen i don't use an xorg.conf right now. the monitor is connected
with a dvi cable and is the only monitor.

Hi,

you may want to have your build fail ealier by the way: if build stage
failed, you probably shouldn't be trying to run the install one.

Version: 2.7.0-1

Hi,

your package no longer builds on kfreebsd-*:

| ATTENTION:

I think you don't really want/need to hardcode kernel versions there:
,---[ makedefs ]---
| GNU.0*|GNU/kFreeBSD.[567]*)

Adding '8' (current kernel version) there should help; although the
build is still running on my porterbox, I'm tagging this with 'patch'
since it can't go any worse by applying this tweak.

Bug#570324: nvclock: Complain about missing driver which is present

2010-02-17 Thread furex
Package: nvclock
Version: 0.8b4-1
Severity: normal

If run from a user account nvclock will complain that no drivers are present,
when really they are, and error out.

In src/backend/back_linux.c at line 95, nvclock wants the user
to have drivers AND be root at the same time. If the check is corrected,
nvclock is then able to perform various tasks w/o requiring usage of root
account.

Bug#570322: ITP: libsimple-validation-java -- library for quickly adding validation code to Swing user-interfaces

2010-02-17 Thread Varun Hiremath
Package: wnpp
Owner: Varun Hiremath
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libsimple-validation-java
  Version : 0.4
  Upstream Author : Tim Boudreau
* URL or Web page : http://kenai.com/projects/simplevalidation/pages/Home
* License : CDDL | GPL-2
Description : library for quickly adding validation code to Swing
user-interfaces

This is a simple library for retrofitting user-interface input
validation to Swing applications. It handles validating user input
when the user changes a component's value, showing error messages and
decorating components to indicate which component is the source of
the problem. It contains a large number of built-in validators to
handle most common situations, such as validating numbers, email
 addresses, urls and so forth.

I just notice that on this version of haskell-mode it doesn't work like this
even in haskell-mode (.hs). Was this feature deliberative dropped? If yes,
please change this to wishlist.

Greetings.

Thanks for your report. I think I'd rather implement this in man-db,
since it already takes care of doing some groff locale macro setup
(albeit only in preparation for groff 1.20.2, whenever that gets
released), and I'd be more comfortable setting this policy at a higher
layer rather than changing the semantics of groff.

Fortunately, this turns out to be quite straightforward, so I've
committed an appropriate change for man-db 2.5.8.

Thu Feb 18 01:38:04 GMT 2010 Colin Watson

* src/man.c (locale_macros): Explicitly set groff's hyphenation
language, to ensure that it only hyphenates languages it knows
  about (Debian bug #570247).

I don't suppose somebody would like to contribute Polish hyphenation
rules to groff upstream? :-)

Thanks,

This is already done. If you have an actual example of it not working,
that would be useful to see.

I can't see any obvious suspect here. Therefore, please file a bug
report upstream at , selecting product
'Platform Specific/Hardware', component 'i386', and providing the same
information in your report here. Let us know the bug number so we can
track it.

I don't intend to change this, for the following reasons:

  * It is just as easy, if not easier, and more secure to run
'lintian-info' on its own and then just paste error messages into
its stdin. I've always used lintian-info this way. If you do this
then you don't have to worry about shell metacharacters in error
messages. I don't think it's reasonable to constrain groff to not
emit shell metacharacters on stderr (which would include $ as well
as `, for instance).

  * ' is itself a shell metacharacter; you happen not to encounter this
because you're quoting with ", but not everyone will do that. I
don't think groff should be optimised for one particular way to pass
its error messages to lintian-info. :-)

  * http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/Quote-Characters.html
explicitly recommends this method of quoting in the C locale, and
groff is a GNU package. (I'm aware that not everyone likes this; I
do not intend to engage in debate about the correctness of the GNU
Coding Standards here ...)

If upstream wish to do otherwise, then that's up to them, but I'm not
going to override them.

I identified how to patch config/environment.rb :

...
# Load Engine plugin if available
begin
  require File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), '../vendor/plugins/engines/boot')
  Engines::public_directory = '/var/lib/redmine/plugin_assets'
rescue LoadError
  # Not available
end
...

The maintainer scripts will take care of that directory properly,
and examples modified accordingly with Alias directive.

IMO there are actually two other important bugs reports you could open here :
- don't create "/usr/share/redmine/db/schema.db" at config time (that was on my
todo list)
- don't force remove /usr/share/redmine at purge time (i've been harsh here)

Thanks for your reports.

In /etc/wpa_supplicant/functions.sh, line 964 the script test wether the
interface ($WPA_IFACE) is already up. If so, it adds the option
"--force" to the call to /sbin/ifup to suppress the mentioned error.

The testing is done by comparing the contents of ifstate file
($IFSTATE_FILE) to "^$WPA_IFACE=$WPA_IFACE". If this would be only
compared to "^$WPA_IFACE=" it should fix the error.

It would appear that md now generates RebuildXX events for arbitrary

Bug#570314: nautilus: Takes over mounting of devices under KDE4

2010-02-17 Thread Shai Berger
Package: nautilus
Version: 2.28.4-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm a KDE4 user, but my system has Gnome installed
too. Recently I ran into a weird behavior on my
desktop: whenever I connected my DoK, it would
be automounted under the wrong name and opened
in Nautilus; this somehow also prevented the
KDE device notifier applet from unmounting it later
(though a command-line "umount" worked perfectly).

Being used to Dolphin, which is just a file manager
and not a desktop manager, it took me quite some time
to figure out what happened: At some point, nautilus
was run (probably by Firefox), and it stayed up when
its window was closed (it does that even when given
the --no-desktop flag, which it was). Then, since the
(reasonable) default is to browse media when inserted,
whenever a media was inserted, nautilus mounted it and
opened a window for it.

In summary: Nautilus was seriously getting in my way,
so I think its behavior is a bug. I suspect the right
thing is for --no-desktop to also imply no automatic
browsing of media, and more importantly, exit upon
closing of the last window, but I can't have a strong
opinion; I'm not a regular Nautilus user.

Thanks,
Shai.

Bug#570039: pyfribidi: FTBFS with -B

2010-02-17 Thread Jakub Wilk

* Joey Hess , 2010-02-16, 13:02:

That's wierd, the package is Arch: any, I suspect that this is a problem
with debhelper, as I see that:

'dh binary-arch -Spython_distutils' did not call dh_auto_install & the
rest of dh installing scripts.

dh interprets -Spython-distutils as an unknown option, followed
by "-p"; which causes it to only act on a package named
"ython-distutils".

Out of curiosity, why did "-Spython-distutils" do the right thing when
passed to "dh binary"?

Bug#570273: debian-installer: netboot stops after loading pxelinux.cfg/default

Problem is: it works perfectly here for me using the daily image you linked
to on two systems: in VirtualBox and my (oldish) Toshiba laptop.

Also, when I try your workaround ...

... I get rather different behavior than you describe. I don't get an
"Invalid or corrupt kernel image" error, and also no "boot:" prompt.
Instead, after a delay of a few seconds, the installer gets booted
automatically.

So we need to find out why it works so differently for you. I don't think
it's a D-I issue as nothing has changed, and I'd like to rule out that
it's not a local configuration issue before reassigning to syslinux.

I'd really like to see the log from the tftp daemon with verbose option
enabled.

Cheers,
FJP

Bug#560493: guessnet: FTBFS: string.h:63: error: 'vasprintf' was not declared

2010-02-17 Thread Fabian Knittel
The build failure seems to concern libwibble-dev instead of guessnet.

In addition, it appears that the problem was resolved, as the guessnet
build succeeds for current lenny and sid environments (as soon as
#570306 is fixed).

Bug#570312: cryptsetup: luksKillSlot reports incorrect slot unlocked

2010-02-17 Thread Alex Roper

Subject: cryptsetup: luksKillSlot reports incorrect slot unlocked
Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.1.0~rc2-1
Severity: minor

*** Please type your report below this line ***

When you use luksKillSlot to kill key slot X, and then enter the
passphrase for keyslot Y, cryptsetup performs the correct actions.
However, the message printed is "Key slot X unlocked". So in other
words, cryptsetup tells the user it killed the keyslot they just used to
unlock the action.

This is cosmetic, but has given me a jolt of fear at least once, and a
fix should be extremely trivial. Perhaps print a message like

"""
Key slot Y unlocked
Killed key slot X
"""

Thanks for the free software, don't root me bro, and best of luck,
Alex

Bug#570309: desktop-file-utils: desktop-entry-mode.el in package

2010-02-17 Thread Kevin Ryde
Package: desktop-file-utils
Version: 0.15-2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

It'd be good if desktop-entry-mode.el from the sources was included in
the package. Chucking it in /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp and a bit of an
autoload file would be enough to start (and doesn't create a dependency
on emacs or anything.)

I get some joy from the rules.diff and debian/emacsen-startup file
below.

Bug#570308: redmine: Expects to write to plugin_assets in /usr

2010-02-17 Thread Adrian Irving-Beer
Package: redmine
Version: 0.9.2-2
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 9.1.1 FHS chapter 4

The plugin_assets directory is expected to be writable by the user
running Redmine. In the Debian redmine package, this is currently
/usr/share/redmine/public/plugin_assets.

The package scripts acknowledge this by making directory writable by
www-data, but writing to /usr at runtime is not allowed per the FHS,
and will cause problems on systems where /usr is mounted read-only
(which is acceptable per Debian policy).

I expect the solution would be to put plugin_assets somewhere in /var
and create a symbolic link pointing to it. This may cause problems on
Apache systems where symbolic links are disallowed, but this could be
worked around using an "Alias" directive in the example Apache
configurations.

On a related note:

This part isn't a policy violation (that I know of), but I
figured I should mention that the package also creates
"/usr/share/redmine/public/plugin_assets/README" and
"/usr/share/redmine/db/schema.db" at config time, untracked by dpkg.

These files get removed at "purge" time via "rm -rf /usr/share/redmine",
but this seems a bit heavy-handed, since people might have installed
plugins there. I wonder if it would be better to delete these
files, perhaps as part of the "prerm" script (or even at the end of
the "config" script), such that dpkg can clean up /usr/share/redmine
on its own?

(Just throwing this out there. It's minor and optional enough that I
didn't want to bother you with a second "wishlist" bug.)

Bug#568704: libunwind is not built on specified architectures

2010-02-17 Thread Stefan Potyra
Hi,

libunwind wasn't built on other architectures than ia64 due to
packages-arch-specific, see [1].

Stephan Herrmann already filed a bug [2], which added new architectures. Can
you recheck if that matches what you had in mind? Thanks!

I'm not too sure how to get i386 built, maybe a binNMU suffices, *shrug*.

HTH,
Stefan.

Ok. Right now we're avoiding shared storage by using a TagFile instance
for each Deb822 instance returned by its iter_paragraphs class method.
But it would be nice not to have to do that. :)

I'm not sure if we'll wait, but I'll definitely be converting deb822 to
the new interface when it's available.

Thanks!

Agreed the debian_bundle name is a wart, so let's get rid of it (with a
transition phase). Fixing the source tree might be funky, though.
We'll need an empty parent directory (lib?) since the "root" debian
directory is for packaging stuff.

Justification: fails to build from source

Apparently guessnet no longer builds from source:

g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -D_BSD_SOURCE -D__BSD_SOURCE -D__FAVOR_BSD

This was built from an up-to-date sid amd64 sbuild chroot. The fix is to add
the missing "#include " to fake.cc:

With the above patch, guessnet builds cleanly again.

Bug#570302: wesnoth: Left & right mouse buttons do not work in window mode all the time

2010-02-17 Thread Harald
Package: wesnoth
Version: 1:1.6.5-1
Severity: important

Hello everyone,

my system is today's unstable and since I updated the xorg
server to 7.5, problems occurred with the left & right mouse buttons.
These
problems only show up in window mode (in opposition to fullscreen mode).

In window mode, the use of the left mouse button is not honoured.
After navigating through the menus by cursor keys and starting a game,
middle mouse button works, but not the other ones.

In preferences menu, the 'big' buttons ('cancel' and so on) do not work
either, but the small on-off widgets _do_ work. So I can select
fullscreen mode by left mouse click. Afterwards, left & right mouse
buttons work like expected. When I switch back to window mode, the mouse
buttons just work on the small buttons once again.

I'm running the game on a laptop with Intel 915GM with no explicit
xorg.conf. Recently, errors showed up in /var/log/Xorg.0.log indicating
problems with the touchpad. A USB mouse shows exacly the same behaviour:

Probably, this is related to the conversion from hal to udev (maybe related to
bug
#567491?), but for other programs, this seems not to be a problem. Wesnoth is
the only one where I experienced
these problems.

Please let me know if I can provide some help!

Thanks a lot for the great work,
Harald

Thanks, this looks very useful, and will also be good in the
nssdatabases script. One question: what's the '|$' for in
the regex? Isn't '^#' sufficient?

It's for ignoring empty lines.

OK. So in the dpkg-perl branch, the way arch_equivalent() is being
used is that it's being passed an element out of a list of
architectures and/or aliases as the 'arch1' argument, the architecture
from the Packages file or whatever was set with the '--architecture'
option as the 'arch2' argument, and a boolean value to indicate
whether to use or not use debarch_is() from Dpkg::Arch.

debarch_is() takes a valid architecture as it's first argument, and a
valid alias as it's second argument. This was one of the reasons for
the last patch, as debarch_is() was instead being passed an alias as
it's first argument, and an architecture as the second argument.

One of things to note is that you cannot call debarch_is("linux-any",
"any") as "linux-any" is not a valid architecture. Something like
debarch_is("", "linux-any") would be ok however.

Now something like debarch_is("amd64", "all") would yield false since
"all" is not a valid alias. I was thinking packages that were
architecture indepedent ("all") were like packages that can be used in
"any" architecture, which is why I was saying that passing "all" as
the first argument to arch_equivalent() should always yield true. I
suppose we can assume the default behavior from debarch_is() instead,
which is to always yield false.

Bug#570299: emacs23-common: Wrong commands for rst-compile-toolsets

2010-02-17 Thread Fidel Ramos
Package: emacs23-common
Version: 23.1+1-6
Severity: normal

The rst-compile-toolsets variable in emacs23-common is wrong. It uses commands
like rst2html.py or rst2pdf.py, but those commands, from the python-docutils
package, lack the ".py" extension.

/usr/share/emacs/23.1/lisp/textmodes/rst.el.gz found in the emacs23-el package
has the same problem.

The original rst.el found in the python-docutils package correctly defines the
rst-compile-toolsets variable:

(defvar rst-compile-toolsets
  '((html . ("rst2html" ".html" nil))
(latex . ("rst2latex" ".tex" nil))
(newlatex . ("rst2newlatex" ".tex" nil))
(pseudoxml . ("rst2pseudoxml" ".xml" nil))
(xml . ("rst2xml" ".xml" nil))
(pdf . ("rst2pdf" ".pdf" nil))
(s5 . ("rst2s5" ".xml" nil)))
"An association list of the toolset to a list of the (command to use,
extension of produced filename, options to the tool (nil or a
string)) to be used for converting the document.")

Per bug #551701, xulrunner-1.9.1 was moved from section devel to section libs,
which
I think makes more sense.

Ah, OK. Committed into git as below. This will be in the next

Many thanks,

Bug#570216: ITP: virt-goodies -- A collection of helpful virtualisation related tools

2010-02-17 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen
I've uploaded a version to unstable with the following changelog.

 virt-goodies (0.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * Initial upload based on the package in Ubuntu (Closes: #570216).
   * Add dependency on uuid-runtime, needed by vmware2libvirt.
   * Remove 'more to come' comment from package description. Nothing
have shown up in two years, so it seem a bit misplaced.
   * Update standards-version from 3.7.3 to 3.8.4. No change needed.
   * Build-depend on quilt and modify rules to apply patches.
   * New patch vmware2libvirt-quotes.diff solving a parse error with
 vmware files generated on Windows.

I hope it passes NEW soon.

Happy hacking,

Julien Cristau a écrit :

Jérémie, if you can reproduce this with the latest kernel in unstable,
please file a bug at

I have the latest kernel in unstable. I just filed

Cheers,

Thanks, this looks very useful, and will also be good in the
nssdatabases script. One question: what's the '|$' for in
the regex? Isn't '^#' sufficient?

Regards,
Roger
