Due to license issues this version of Xen does not include the blktap2
backend (tapdisk2) and associated utilities (vhd-util, etc.). The decision
was made to disable the blktap v1 kernel module (the default is now
blktap2). As a result we can't use any tap devices which means worse
performance than previousl. Since blktap1 was available in lenny this could
be looked on as a regression.

Please consider either adding blktap2 or reinstating the blktap1 kernel
  module.

I thought there was no real licensing issue. I recall some patches on
 xen-devel about that.

It was resolved in xen-unstable.hg 21547:ca2738f258 I think it would be
trivial to backport.

Bug#600684: pdfcrop: Fails to crop due to bug in ghostscript printing bounding box information twice

 !!! Error: pdfTeX run failed!

looking further it seems that this is ghostscript printing out
 bounding box information twice [1].

  [1] http://bugs.debian.org/593213

The following patch should fix the issue, as it is 'backported' from
upstream. I have tested it and it seems to work, but I hope you could
have a further look at it.

If you agree on the fix, would it be possible to upload it to s-p-u?

I got now some feedback from the users at our site and the backported
patch seems to be ok. I have raised again the severity to 'important'
because even if pdfcrop is only one of the extra-utils, it is unusable
due the ghostscript bug (if you do not agree on the severity, please
downgrade, will then not change it again).

Would be really great to have pdfcrop working again in Lenny!

Bests and thanks for maintaining the texlive package.

libitext1-java is in dependency tree of Maven 2 (ie. site generation part

So we have to :
- keep libitext1-java or migrate Maven2 to libitext-java (2.1) or package
Maven3 (Torsten is working on it...)
- be careful in handling libitext1-java to ensure no breakage of others

Bug#600852: Fail to read empty but gzipped Packages files

2010-10-21 Thread Christian PERRIER
Quoting Otavio Salvador (ota...@ossystems.com.br):
 Package: apt
 Version: 0.8.7
 Severity: critical
 Tags: d-i

During the build of Debian Installer we have the possibility to use
localudebs so a build/localudebs directory scanned and a Packages file
 is generated for it.

In the case of an empty Packages file (gzipped) is used, APT fails to
read it and in this case breaking the whole building process of
 installer.

Downgrading apt to 0.8.5 I was able to build d-i file so a change done
later then 0.8.5 has broken it.

From the changelog, there are chances that this:

  [ Martin Pitt ]
  * apt-pkg/deb/debindexfile.cc:
- Use FileFd::Size() instead of stat()ing the sources/binary/translations
indexes directly, so that we have transparent handling of gzipped
  indexes.
  * apt-pkg/contrib/fileutl.cc:
- Fix FileFd::Size() for gzipped files to give the size of the
uncompressed data. This fixes cache building progress going way
  over 100%.

...is involved in the regression.

I may be wrong, of course, as this is kinda wild guess...

Bug#600908: Improvement to clamav-milter init script

2010-10-21 Thread Chris Moules
Package: clamav-milter
Version: 0.96.3+dfsg-2~volatile1

We have recently experienced the case that clamav-milter was 'running' but the
socket file was missing. This caused our mail
system (postfix) to reject mail with a temporary error.

Monitoring the service by checking the return code from
'/etc/init.d/clamav-milter status' did not catch this situation.

I have updated the 'status' check to include a check for the sockets existence
and an alternate error code (LSB correct, I
believe). See attached patch.

The patch also fixes the call to 'status_of_proc' with the variable $BASENAME
in place of $NAME (which does not exist).
It also moves the 'local' copy of the function 'status_of_proc' below the
sourcing of '/lib/lsb/init-functions' so that this
version of the function gets called. Before, this local copy of the function
was just unused code in the init script. This local
copy of the LSB function now checks the existence of the clamav-milter socket
as defined in '$SOCKET_PATH'.

Regards

Chris

Bug#586540: kdm on initial start at kfreebsd bootup does not allow keyboard input

2010-10-21 Thread Petr Salinger

This bug is a real hurdle for KDE on kfreebsd-* as it enforces a manual X
restart by the user at every reboot. (Rising the kdmrc ServerTimeout as
mentioned in various places doesn't help either).

kFreeBSD porters: could you please take a look at that ?

When the start of kdm is not during boot, it works fine.
The problem is order of start during boot.
The /etc/inittab line
l2:2:wait:/etc/init.d/rc 2
is performed before
2:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 ttyv1 cons25

therefore during kdm/X start, the vt2 (ttyv1, ALT+F2) is still free.
When started after boot, the vt2 is occupied
and vt7 (ttyv6, ALT+F7) is allocated correctly.

The easiest solution for now is to alter ServerArgsLocal
at least on GNU/kFreeBSD in /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc to
ServerArgsLocal=vt7 -br -nolisten tcp

Xdm uses on both GNU/Linux and GNU/kFreeBSD in /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers
:0 local /usr/bin/X :0 vt7 -nolisten tcp

Indeed the performance degradation is fixed in 2.13 version. And
although it is still not perfect (e.g. smooth scrolling of Gmail
threads takes nearly 100% CPU, which IIRC was the same with a bunch of
last releases), at least the driver is usable now on 865G chipset.

Thank you! Is there a chance to get this version into Squeeze before release?

Sounds like it's just fixed because the 2.13 version doesn't default
to shadow. Try 'Option shadow off' in the Device section of
xorg.conf with the 2.12+shadow driver, that should be equivalent.

Julien

Bug#562567: Unicode 6.0 symbols

2010-10-21 Thread Adam Borowski
The new version includes support for all new Unicode 6.0 symbol blocks.
I think it is important to have at least one font with them in Debian.

(It might be a bit weird to install a collection of cuneiform and similar to
get pictograms, but hey...)

Bug#600670: #600670 - libhpmud0 installs /usr/lib/libhpmud.so.0 /usr/lib/libhpmud.so.0.0.6 but sane needs /usr/lib/libhpmud.so that is in libhpmud-dev, not needed to scan

2010-10-21 Thread Evgeni Golov
Hi,

I'm using saned with an hpaio based scanner, saned needs libhpmud dyn lib
 but it searches for .so

 Oct 19 01:13:27 wrap saned[718]: scan/sane/marvell.c 66: unable to load
restricted library: libhpmud.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file
 or direc

while the package installs .so.0 and .so.0.0.6, libhpmud-dev is not needed to
 scan
I known .so are provided by -dev packages, but libhpmud-dev is not actually
 used at all

The attached patch makes sane look for libhpmud.so.0 after libhpmud.so
was not found.

I've uploaded i386 .debs from my sid-cowbuilder at
http://people.debian.org/~evgeni/tmp/hplip/
I think installing libsane-hpaio_3.10.6-1.1_i386.deb should be enough,
but I have no real idea as I have no HP scanners around.
Could you test it please?

Evgeni

Bug#577747: linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64 - same bug, different HW

2010-10-21 Thread Jan Schermer
 Hi,
I'm experiencing the same problem. My kernel is
linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64, fresh squeezy/testing installation.

I just installed a new home server (Core2Duo, 3 ethernets, wireless, 2x
SATA in RAID1)

I needed to copy some backup data to the server, but once I plugged my
laptop directly into the gigabit port and started copying (rsync+ssh),
SSH died with message:

Corrupted MAC on input. Disconnecting: Packet corrupt

This was a direct cable between my laptop and server - eth2 - both
gigabit ethernets.

Googling suggested that my hardware is faulty, so because I also have
those data on the internet, I fired scp in the background and went to work.

I logged back to the server and it died again! Same message!

This time it was a different ethernet port, and different remote server.

/sys/class/net/lo/features:0x13865
/sys/class/net/mon.wlan0/features:0x2000
/sys/class/net/wlan0/features:0x2000

For the record, my laptop has atl1c gigabit ethernet card, the
internet server is a xen domU on unknown hardware, but there never was a
problem with either.

So, is it hardware? I guess memory could be faulty, but that would
manifest itself sooner and also on other places I guess.

I believe there is a problem either in those drivers (sharing
something?), or in some algorithm.
I switched SSH MACs from
hmac-md5,hmac-sha1,umac...@openssh.com,hmac-ripemd160
to hmac-ripemd160 and that doesn't work either. B0rked openssl? B0rked
openssh?

It happens more often on large (4GB) files, but also saw it on a bunch
of 1KB files now, restarting makes it going again...

I'm obviously going to run a memtest once I get home, but for now I
believe this is a software fault.

Jan

Hello

I'll update the fonts for sure. However since they won't make it

no hurry to get them sponsored and in.

If you can't wait, have a look here:

Bug#600912: xrdp: Problem with Ctrl+AltGR+KEY combinations on German keyboard

2010-10-21 Thread Roland Stigge
Package: xrdp
Version: 0.5.0~20100303cvs-6
Severity: normal

Hi,

now that we have solved #584666 (thank you!), a colleague of mine reported a
similar issue: Remote controlling Debian via Windows, single AltGr combinations
work fine, but together with Ctrl, the correct key combinations don't get
through to the applications. E.g., in Vim, we have the combination ^]
which is reachable on the German keyboard via Ctrl+AltGr+9. I'm attaching the
xev output from native Debian (xev.linux) and Debian controlled via Windows XP
RDP/xrdp (xev.winxp).

Thanks in advance!

bye,

Bug#600902: add RSS to http://www.debian.org/users/

2010-10-21 Thread Valessio S Brito

I'm experiencing the Ushahidi on http://gis.debianart.org/

Any help is welcome.

We need to improve the layout and define how to use.

He has a base of knowledge-based users-debian-worldmap[1] and
devels-debian-worldmap[2].

Now also intend to register companies and institutions[3].

This environment[4] supports RSS and Email Alarm through overalls with
a radius of proximity.

[2] http://www.debian.org/devel/developers.loc
[3] http://www.debian.org/users/
[4] http://gis.debianart.org/

Quoting Paolo Cavallini cavall...@faunalia.it:

Package: www.debian.org
It would be good to add an RSS feed to the page of users, so I can
keep upaded of the

changes.
Furthermore, the page http://io.debian.net/~tar/debian-worldmap/ has
dead links and

unappropriate ones (I would replace them with http://www.geonames.org/).
The map would better be replaced with an OpenLayers+OpenStreetMap one, see
http://www.faunalia.it/ufficio/lavori/index.php for an example.
Thanks.

Bug#600914: ITP: mididings -- MIDI router and processor based on Python

2010-10-21 Thread Alessio Treglia
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Alessio Treglia ales...@debian.org

* Package name: mididings
  Version : 20100602
Upstream Author : Dominic Sacre dominic.sa...@gmx.de
* URL : http://das.nasophon.de/mididings/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : MIDI router and processor based on Python

mididings is a MIDI router and processor based on Python,
supporting ALSA and JACK MIDI. It is available under the
GNU GPL and currently runs on Linux.
 .
 Features:
  * MIDI routing and filtering
Filter events depending on their event type, channel,
note number, velocity, etc., and freely route them
between an arbitrary number of input and output ports.
  * Modifying and converting MIDI events
Transpose notes, apply velocity curves, change
controller values and ranges, or convert events to any
other MIDI event type. mididings also includes more
complex functions like a diatonic harmonizer, floating
split points, latched notes, and more.
  * Seamless switching between patches
Set up different scenes, each with its own MIDI
routing and processing, and switch between them at any
time, even while playing. Switching scenes does not
affect notes already held, and does not result in
dropouts or stuck notes!
  * MIDI event monitoring, running external commands
Print MIDI event data to the console to help debugging
your patches and configuring your MIDI controllers. In
addition to its MIDI output, mididings can also
execute shell commands and send OSC or DBUS messages.

Agreed, but it should still be posible to dlopen() libraries that were
not present at compilation time (e.g. lame in Debian).

Yes I am using other OSs and wnat to keep them in sync...

Is there a technical reason for not upgrading the addon, or only

It seems that without the ability to sync against current status
the functionality of this package is severly broken.

Having an ok patch does not mean the severity is important.

It was originally important as submitted by you, and Himar (I think)
adjusted it correctly to normal, as this is only a small part
of the whole package, so it does not render it useless.

due the ghostscript bug (if you do not agree on the severity, please
downgrade, will then not change it again).

Actually, one can even say that is not my problem, ghostscript should
be fixed!

Would be really great to have pdfcrop working again in Lenny!

I don't have time to prepare updated packages for lenny atm, if one
of the others here on the list can take that, fine.

I've got a new -2 package (same location) with upstream's solution,

Bug#600915: support multiple debsrc tarballs

2010-10-21 Thread Daniel Baumann
Package: pristine-tar
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I've no idea if that's actually doable in a generic and sane way, but it
would be great if pristine-tar would have a way to deal with multiple
orig tarballs (which newer debsrc format allows), so that all the delta
files would be in one commit and against their respective directory, e.g.:

if the tarballs of a debian source package would consist of:

  foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz
  foo_1.2.3.orig-bar.tar.gz
  foo_1.2.3.orig-baz.tar.gz

the diff for foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz would need to be done against the
root of the repository directory as usual, but with excluding bar/ and baz/.

the diff for foo_1.2.3.orig-bar.tar.gz would be done only against the
bar directory only, foo_1.2.3.orig-baz.tar.gz only against baz/ etc.

...and ideally, this alltogether in one single pristine-tar commit :)

squirrelmail security regression. I neglected to CC you, so you probably
didn't know about it. But could you have a look and try the fixed
package that I've uploaded and then report back to the bug report?
For your convience, I'm speaking of this one:

  micah
 Yes, your fix (gotten from:
 http://people.debian.org/~micah/squirrelmail_1.4.15-4+lenny4_all.deb)
seems to solve the problem with 8-bit char passwords in my setup - I could
log in without problem into squirrelmail with such a password.
 Thank you a lot! :-)

the new package seems to have a negative side effect: the search via
squirrelmail now gives an error and yields no results any more.

Sorry Bye!

Bug#599408: apt-cacher-ng: Please add support to archive.debian.org in the default config

2010-10-21 Thread Eduard Bloch
#include hallo.h
* Javier Barroso [Thu, Oct 21 2010, 01:17:47PM]:
Sorry Eduard, I dropped 599...@bugs.debian.org from my replies :(,
so no log is in bugs.debian.org/599408

Doesn't matter, the config looked ok. Cc: restored.

Later today I hope create a test environment to confirm this bug (or
 this not-a-bug)

Yesterday, I tried to reproduce your problem. Created an Etch chroot
with pbuilder (which uses my local apt-cacher-ng as proxy) and
specifying http://archive.debian.org/debian -- and it works just fine!
Tried some more things with apt in that chroot and encountered no
problems whatsoever.

I should mention that I am talking about the current version. The one in
Lenny is stone age, and won't be fixed even if there is a minor bug.

If you need an update, see here:
http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~bloch/acng/download/backports/
This is a straight backport from the latest Debian version, to Lenny.
You might need a recent liblzma package from bpo, see
http://backports.debian.org/Instructions/ for details.

Regards,
Eduard.

Bug#600684: pdfcrop: Fails to crop due to bug in ghostscript printing bounding box information twice

Having an ok patch does not mean the severity is important.

It was originally important as submitted by you, and Himar (I think)
adjusted it correctly to normal, as this is only a small part
of the whole package, so it does not render it useless.

It was me setting it to normal. The term 'useless' I meant was not for
the full package, but only for pdfcrop. I was undecided, and raised
then back to important, but not because of the reason that I had a
patch, simply undecided about the 'importance' not having pdfcrop
working.

due the ghostscript bug (if you do not agree on the severity, please
downgrade, will then not change it again).

Actually, one can even say that is not my problem, ghostscript should
 be fixed!

I agree here too with you! It would be defintively better if
ghostscript could be fixed. Upstream of pdfcrop however added himself
a workaround to pdfcrop to have pdfcrop working even with 'broken'
ghostscript version.

Would be really great to have pdfcrop working again in Lenny!

I don't have time to prepare updated packages for lenny atm, if one
of the others here on the list can take that, fine.

Ok, thank you for your feedback Norbert. So hope someone of the others
on the list would finde time for it!

Salvatore

Does that help at least explain why the code is the way it is?

Yes, thanks for your input! The question that remains is how to proceed
with the bug report. The closest ticket upstream seems to be #193 [1]
which has not been updated for 3 years. I could either mark the Debian

Zack, Jeff, any opinions on how to proceed?

Bug#600919: mysql-server is removed on upgrade from lenny to squeeze

2010-10-21 Thread Sandro Tosi
Package: upgrade-reports
Severity: important

Hello,
while preparing for upgrade from lenny to squeeze at work, I noticed that
currently mysql-server (along with mysql-server-5.0) got removed on
dist-upgrade, instead of bringing in mysql-server-5.1.

The procedure I followed for the upgrade is:

- dist-upgrade (current system has lenny)
- edit sources.list to s/lenny/squeeze/ apt-get update
- apt-get install linux-image-amd64
- apt-get install udev
- reboot
- apt-get upgrade
- apt-get dist-upgrade -- here's where mysql-server is removed

Thanks to Stuart Prescott that provided the debug information of upgrade I'm
attaching here below:

There is no specific fix for 2.6.32 as it seems to have resolved itself
in the current kernel release and from the comments, it appears the
developers were unable to bisect to the specific commit possibly due to
build problems over the range where the problem was introduced. Knowing
this issue is pegged to Debian stable might help move that effort
forwards so I'll post upstream as well.

Would an ath9k update be considered/possible at this point if a build
against current source resolves this issue?

Bug#600890: xul-ext-sync: firefox sync is not functional as it is too old

2010-10-21 Thread Michael Fladischer
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi Norbert,

Norbert Preining, 2010-10-21 12:51:
Is there a technical reason for not upgrading the addon, or only
 compatibility?

The reason is not really technical, it's a long term problem with
upstream changing the storage API version. I've already prepared a 1.5-1
package but by uploading it I can only fix the current mismatch in the
version numbers. If Mozilla upstream decides to increase the version
number tomorrow, I'll be force to do another update of the package. This
IMHO (IANADDY) contradicts the purpose of a stable release.

I'll contact debian-volatile and debian-release about this issue.
So far I can only give this advise: Don't upgrade to 1.5 on other
installations to keep compatibility. Sorry ...

It seems that without the ability to sync against current status
the functionality of this package is severly broken.

I think this depends on your POV, as I'm using it to sync several Debian
installations it's not really broken regarding it's status within Debian
... but that's just POV :-)

Regards,

Sounds like we should/could just reaffect it to the kernel, possibly
affecting this package?

Sure, I was thinking about preparing a libitext2-java or

Bug#599448: Brazilian Portuguese translation for Imagination.

2010-10-21 Thread Andrew Starr-Bochicchio
2010/10/5 Sergio Cipolla secipo...@gmail.com:
 Hello, Andrew.
 Please consider this message carefully.
I revised the pt_BR translation for imagination and it has been quite
improved. Many mistakes have been fixed.
I sent this translation some months ago to Giuseppe and pointed to him
that the code had an error that made the toolbar Rotate buttons show
inverted tooltips (counter-clockwise for the clockwise and vice-versa
 - you can check that in English). He then encouraged me to translate
the svn version and I did it.
The svn version includes localized documentation and I translated it as well.
Yesterday I was checking the svn version and I saw that the files I
had sent to him hadn't been included so I emailed him. He explained
that the development has stopped (I knew that from earlier
conversations with him but thought it could have been resumed),
apologised for not including the updates and said he would do so (kind
of just in case someone resumes/forks the development). He said also
that the other developer doesn't answer his emails...

Today I installled imagination in a Debian Sid of mine and was struck
by the errors in the localization, but of course...it couldn't be
different since the revised translation hadn't been included in the
 source code.
Considering this picture, I'm sending you the revised translation and
I urge you to please include it since, who knows, but this may be the
 last stable version (hope not).
Also, if you have something against including translations that don't
come from the official Debian translation team please tell me instead
of just ignoring it. I'm not assuming that of you're like that but
I've encountered many not so sensible people in this environment.
If I'm taking the trouble to write you this message, it's because I
like imagination and I've done a good work revising its pt_BR
localization (I've gone through my past emails to Giuseppe and
 double-checked all the changes again).

Now an extra important point. There's an error with the code in
 imagination-2.1/src/main-window.c

 Line 510 reads:
        gtk_widget_set_tooltip_text(rotate_left_button, _(Rotate the slide
 clockwise));
 and should read:
        gtk_widget_set_tooltip_text(rotate_left_button, _(Rotate the slide
 counter-clockwise));

 Line 520 reads:
        gtk_widget_set_tooltip_text(rotate_right_button, _(Rotate the slide
 counter-clockwise));
 and should read:
        gtk_widget_set_tooltip_text(rotate_right_button, _(Rotate the slide
 clockwise));

The above error makes the tooltips over the rotate buttons on the
 toobar show inverted.
I could send you a fixed pt_BR.po (with the translations also
inverted) but that would make it only show correctly in pt_BR, keeping
the error in all the rest (English included).
If you're going to upload a new release then you could fix that code
and it would be fixed for all languages. So I'm sending a regular
pt_BR.po, that is, one that unless the code is fixed, will show
inverted (wrong) tooltips like all the other locales.

Please tell me what are you intending to do.

 Warm regards,

 Sérgio.

Hi Sérgio,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Thank you so much for
your effort! I received the bug reports against the Debian package,
but unfortunately Debian is currently in freeze in preparation for the
next release. Once the freeze is lifted, I will upload fixes for both
of the bugs.

Also, it looks like upstream has indeed committed your translation
work into their svn repository, but who knows when they will make
their next release. See:

http://imagination.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/imagination?revision=574view=revision
http://imagination.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/imagination?revision=575view=revision

Thanks again!

- Andrew

Bug#600932: apc ups runs 9600bd on its serial line

2010-10-21 Thread Harald Dunkel
Package: apcupsd
Version: 3.14.8-2
Severity: wishlist

It would be very nice if I could specify the serial line
speed in apcupsd.conf, next to the serial line. My shiny
new APC UPSes (Smart-UPS RT 5000 XL) run 9600bd 8N1 instead
of the documented 2400bd on their serial interfaces, AFAICS.

Using minicom on 9600bd I can login into the UPS, but APC
doesn't allow to change the speed in their config menus,
either.

The current apcupsd cannot connect via serial line. It just
writes
PANIC! Cannot communicate with UPS via serial port.

into its logfile.

Harri

Bug#491061: mouse side buttons stopped working

Hi,

Paul LeoNerd Evans leon...@leonerd.org.uk (25/11/2009):
Actually I've found even worse. My side buttons aren't reported as

Strangely, something happens, just what it is that happens isn't a

is this still happening with current unstable? If that's the case,
I've built 2.5.0 against unstable's XServer, and it can be found for

Could you please give it a shot? If the problem persists, could you
please open a bug upstream?

Then, giving us link/bug number will help us track it.

Thanks already.

Bug#599408: apt-cacher-ng: Please add support to archive.debian.org in the default config

Ok, thank you

I downloaded your package from backports, compile it in itanium arch and
it is working

I'm happing with clean cron task (From 47G used to 15 G)

Would be a good idea having apt-cacher-ng directly from
backports.debian.org :-).

Thank you very much again !
PD: I'll try later about installing lenny to tag this bug like wontfix
or closing it because could be invalid:

Bug#513598: xserver-xorg-input-evdev: evdev from experimental ignores ButtonMapping option

2010-10-21 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi,

setvac...@yahoo.com setvac...@yahoo.com (31/01/2009):
I also tried adding InputDevice section in xorg.conf and removing
the HAL FDI file. However, X log did not say anything about
recognizing ButtonMapping option, and looks like it still retrieve
 input device information from HAL.

Thank you for your interest in my problem!

I guess we'd like to know what happens with the current udev-based
installation, HAL being only kept on *BSD because there's no udev
there.

FWIW, a new version for XServer 1.7 (what we have currently in
unstable) is available on http://autobuild.ikibiki.org/ if you want to
give a shot to the last upstream version.

Mraw,
KiBi.

Bug#520718: xserver-xorg: No keyboard after resuming from suspend

2010-10-21 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi Sam,

Sam Morris s...@robots.org.uk (22/03/2009):
After resuming from suspend, my keyboard didn't work. I had to reset
the machine to get it working again.

can you please report what happens with current squeeze/sid? If the
issue persists, you may want to try 2.5.0 built against squeeze/sid,
available on http://autobuild.ikibiki.org/

Running the bug script and attaching its output would be nice, so that
we get all possible info on an up-to-date system.

Mraw,
KiBi.

Bug#523905: xserver-xorg-input-evdev: Thinkpad trackpoint scrolling doesn't work anymore

2010-10-21 Thread Cyril Brulebois
(I tried to get everyone involved in To/Cc.)

Apelete Seketeli apel...@seketeli.org (13/04/2009):
Since the update to xserver-xorg-core/2:1.6.0-1 and the use of evdev
to automagically configure input devices, I lost the ability to
scroll using the trackpoint and the middle mouse button on my
 Thinkpad.

Could you please report what happens with current squeeze/sid? If the
issue persists, a new upstream release is built against squeeze/sid,
and available at http://autobuild.ikibiki.org/

Please run the bug script and attach its output so that we get
p-to-date info:

Bug#600391: pcmanfm update

2010-10-21 Thread Stephen
Just eralized now by accident; that it's an alias problem. When
attempting to launch Nautilus; pcmanfm opened. So, not a serious bug.

Bug#599644: Upstream response

2010-10-21 Thread Stephen Gallagher
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

At install time, SSSD attempts the following in order to determine the
location to install the memberof.so:
1) If --with-ldb-lib-dir is specified to configure, it will use that path
2) `pkg-config --variable=modulesdir ldb`
3) Fall back to $(libdir)/ldb

The real bug here appears to be that the libldb-dev package on Debian is
not installing a proper pkgconfig file for ldb. Libldb is compiled to
expect plugins in /usr/modules/ldb. However either no pkgconfig file is
available, or it is missing the modulesdir variable to tell SSSD's
build-system where the modules belong. A bug should be opened with
libldb's packaging.

The workaround is to build SSSD with the following additional flag to
the configure script:

- --with-ldb-lib-dir=/usr/modules/ldb

Bug#600915: support multiple debsrc tarballs

2010-10-21 Thread Joey Hess
Daniel Baumann wrote:
I've no idea if that's actually doable in a generic and sane way, but it
would be great if pristine-tar would have a way to deal with multiple
orig tarballs (which newer debsrc format allows), so that all the delta
files would be in one commit and against their respective directory, e.g.:

if the tarballs of a debian source package would consist of:

   foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz
   foo_1.2.3.orig-bar.tar.gz
   foo_1.2.3.orig-baz.tar.gz

the diff for foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz would need to be done against the
root of the repository directory as usual, but with excluding bar/ and baz/.

the diff for foo_1.2.3.orig-bar.tar.gz would be done only against the
bar directory only, foo_1.2.3.orig-baz.tar.gz only against baz/ etc.

...and ideally, this alltogether in one single pristine-tar commit :)

pristine-tar does not know about source package formats. This could be
done at the git-buildpackage layer.

It does not matter if the tree pristine-tar is pointed at contains extra
files or directories. It does need to have files with the same names as
the ones in the tarball (not in a subdir). I suppose an option could be
added to specify a subdir for it to change to.

Not sure I see the point of having pristine-tar make it all in one
commit. It's not as if the history of the pristine-tar branch is
something that is often, or ever, relevant.
