Bug#658570: apt-cacher: bzip2 errors when updating apt

2012-02-04 Thread Scott Ferguson
Package: apt-cacher
Version: 1.6.12
Severity: normal

*** Please type your report below this line ***
Problem is not critical, and only seems to affect a couple of
repositories. When apt-cacher is not used there are no error messages.
Temporary workaround is to bypass apt-cacher for apt-get update, then
use it for apt-get install/upgrade/dist-upgrade

Affected: client boxen with mozilla.debian.net in sources.list using
/etc/apt/aptconf.d/90proxy to access apt-cacher server get the following
errors when running apt-get update:-

Bug#658571: lintian: runs out of space on tmpfs mounted /tmp

2012-02-04 Thread Michael Gilbert
package: lintian
severity: normal
version: 2.5.4

With the move to /run [0], /tmp now gets mounted in ram as a tmpfs by
default. Being in ram of course means that there is rather limited
space, and for certain packages, lintian needs a whole lot of it. For
example, I'm running into problems because of this with chromium in
particular.

Manual usage of TMPDIR is of course an option, but it would be more
ideal if lintian's default tmpdir was not so limited. This could be
perhaps /var/tmp, which is on disk according to the FHS.

Best wishes,
Mike

Bug#658483: Please use the fork instead of original library.

2012-02-04 Thread jeremy . laine
No way, additional features from this fork get merged back once they are
mature and their API is reviewed. It's not debian's job to subvert OSS projects.

Package: qxmpp

Hi,

As we can see there are no packages which use qxmpp library in Debian yet.

To avoid duplication of code it would be nice to switch your package to the
fork:
https://github.com/0xd34df00d/qxmpp-dev

I need this modified version of library for my package leechcraft.

There are such main changes in this fork:
* Fixed install paths — install to /usr[/local] instead of Qt installation path.
* Extended Roster management API — support sending reason texts for subscription
management operations.
* Implemented bookmarks.
* Added pubsub manager.
* Extended vCards support.
* Implemented XEP-0184.
* Implemented XEP-0224.
* Implemented XEP-0145.
* Added option for skipping authentication stage when connecting to server —
allows implementing In-Band Registration XEP.
* Support of XHTML-IM.
* Fixed build in FreeBSD.
* Fixed presence verification string generation.

Fork developers regularly sync their copy of sources with upstream.

Also fork do not broke the API. Each program which can be compiled with original
qxmpp library also can be compiled with modified library without any changes in
the sources.

The main problem is that upstream review patches very and very slow (during few
months). And most of them are not accepted yet. But the Azoth plugin from
LeechCraft can't be compiled with unmodified library.

If you agree with my arguments please let me know here.
I am interested in co-maintaining the package.
And I could make the updated package in the nearest future.

Or if you lost interest to this package you may orphan it.
And I will maintain it by myself.

Best regards,
Boris

Thanks for adding the jquery plugin in the core. Nevertheless there is
small problem with the symlinks. As /usr/share/roundcube/plugins is in

 # ll /usr/share/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js

 /usr/share/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui_pkg/js/jquery-ui.min.js -
 ../../../../javascript/jquery-ui/jquery-ui.min.js

This problem also arise for the contextmenu plugin, and maybe others.

According to debian/roundcube-core.links you used absolute path to the
/usr/share/javascript directory, but unfortunately dh_link generate
relative paths (duuno why). I just rebuilt your package to unsure any
local modification from before the jqueryui plugin was shipped is not
in the way, but debc just confirm this issue.

Sorry for the delayed answer. I do not have this problem on my PC:

$ ls -l /usr/share/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 219321 janv. 24 21:19
/var/lib/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js

I don't understand where jqueryui_pkg comes from in your output. You
type plugins/jqueryui and you get plugins/jqueryui_pkg. Moreover, I
have no such directory on my system. Maybe you have an old version of
roundcube-plugins-extra?

  Description : build maintain a city/country

You are required to build and maintain a city. You must feed, house,
provide jobs and goods for your residents. You can build a sustainable
economy with the help of renewable energy and recycling, or you can go for
broke and build rockets to escape from a pollution ridden and resource
starved planet, it's up to you. Due to the finite resources available in any
one place, this is not a game that you can leave for long periods of time.
This game is similar to the commercial simulation game with a similar
 name.

lincity has been in Debian for over a decade and was abandoned and
finally removed a year ago. I prefer the classic lincity over
lincity-ng, so I'm bringing it back. Upstream seems pretty much dead
and I don't expect to do any new development myself, but just fix
bugs, keep it up to standards and in a buildable state.

I noticed that the way I wrote this sentence isn't 100% correct. tmpfs
mounts may be using swap space as well, which is of course on disk.

Another solution that I forgot to mention is of course sizing the
tmpfs mount to be larger. Both of these solutions are fine, but I
think the defaults should be good for casual users where either of
those would be possibly challenging.

OK. I am still in the blue about the problem.

I don't really understand why the fact that the symlink is a relative
one is a problem. From what I understand, you want to try to access to:
 /var/lib/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js

The output of ls -l is misleading for this file:
 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 49 janv. 22 12:37
/var/lib/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js -
../../../../javascript/jquery-ui/jquery-ui.min.js

From the above, we may assume that the linked file is:
 /var/lib/javascript/jquery-ui/jquery-ui.min.js

Is that what you mean?

However, readlink -f output confirms that everything works as expected:
 $ readlink -f /var/lib/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js
 /usr/share/javascript/jquery-ui/jquery-ui.min.js

Do you get a 404 when accessing this file? With Apache, if I try this, I
get the file:
 $ curl http://localhost/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui/js/jquery-ui.min.js

I have:

Bug#658384: memstat: FTBFS on hurd-i386

2012-02-04 Thread Tanguy LE CARROUR
Hi,

Le vendredi 3 février 2012, Michael Meskes mes...@debian.org a écrit :
 tag 658384 -patch
 thanks

Thanks for your effort, but unfortunately the patch does not work. It
might
make memstat compile on Hurd, but it certainly creates a non-funtional
binary
on Linux. Please run the progam on Linux with and without your patch to
see the
 different output.

Thanks for trying the patch!
I did notice some differences in the outputs but I thought it was
time-related, meaning that I tried the 2 versions at different moments and
the memory occupation was different But I'm not (yet) a memstat
specialist so I'm not sure what to expect! ^_^'

I'll try to see what's wrong, but any advice is welcome.

Thanks for your time,
Tanguy

Bug#658577: -dev library is broken

Package: libevocosm-dev
Version: 4.0.2-2

Hi,

The file listener.h in libevocosm-dev is broken. For example:

 #include libevocosm/listener.h

Here is what I get when I build this file:

The attached patch fix this bug. This bug affects acovea and fixing this bug
may fix #653744.

Thanks. I'm looking into this. Note that it is completely
architecture-independent (i.e., that it was discovered with

I've just submitted #658577 against libevocosm-dev, because it seems one
header file (listener.h) in libevocosm-dev is broken.

However, there must be an bug in acovea too, because acovea doesn't
build with the fixed libevocosm-dev.

Bug#658491: closed by Francesco P. Lovergine fran...@debian.org (Re: Bug#658491: hdf5-tools programs cannot find libhdf5.so.7)

2012-02-04 Thread Giuseppe Bilotta
Thanks for the reply. However, I do believe this is still a bug in the
dependency specification, since if the hdf5-tools
package depends on the *latest* version of the libhdf5-1.8 package,
then it should explicitly do so, to prevent installation
when the correct version cannot be installed because e.g. it is being
held back automatically by some other package
(paraview in my case).

This is a non bug, you have simply to install the *latest* version
of the hdf5 library which provides libhdf5-1.8. You have probably
on hold the previous version for some reason.

This is an issue already raised. My own opinion is that any upgrade should
be done in a smooth way, allowing more than a version to cohexist at the same
time, until all rdepends are rebuilt. After that the old one could be dropped.
Sylvestre managed that differently by requiring explicit rebuilding and
conflicts,
for a good reason, I think (but I did not have time to understand what that
reason is, and now it is anyway done, so it is quite pointless understanding
why and if a better approach was available).

The result is what you are experiencing: all rdepends need to be rebuilt and in
sync,
else you need to keep packages on hold until rebuilding completed for all of
them. The dependencies specification per se is correct (and note that the
packaging
changed in 1.8.4 - 1.8.8)

There's no hurry, I'll hold off for now if there's still a hope to have
something come from upstream in the not too distant future. Thanks!

Upstream are being a bit slow; patch committed upstream, but the
release has been pending for a few weeks. In the absence of a
release, I've fixed this in our git, and I'll upload a patched
version containing your patch shortly (next hour).

Bug#658579: cups: parallel device gets stuck at 100% CPU with Xerox Phaser 3121

2012-02-04 Thread Shai Berger
Package: cups
Version: 1.5.0-16
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

First of all, I would like to apologize if this is not the right
package; I think it is, but I'm really not sure. Maybe something
in the kernel.

In the last 2-3 days, it seems every operation that tries to access
my Xerox Phaser 3121 printer, which is connected through the parallel
port, gets stuck and never completes; I get a process on the host
that looks like this in ps axuww:

lp9324 99.9 0.0 5732 1104 ?R07:57 268:48
parallel:/dev/lp0 1547 sigal Cooks 1 TonerDensity=3 Duplex=None number-up=2
number-up-layout=btlr PageSize=A4 Resolution=300dpi InputSlot=Auto EconoMode=0
noJamRecovery Altitude=LOW MediaType=OFF PowerSave=5
job-uuid=urn:uuid:d8331db0-edd9-3d65-72d5-81b8567a00e8
job-originating-host-name=localhost time-at-creation=1328334501
time-at-processing=1328335027

The only way I found to solve this is to lprm the print jobs, bring
down the cups service, and sudo kill -9 the process. If I just bring
down cups, the process stays up (also does not respond to SIGTERM); if
I just kill the process, cups respawns it; if I just bring down cups
and the process (leaving jobs in the queue), cups restarts it as soon
as it is brought back up.

Some of the time -- can't be sure -- I've gotten error messages printed
by the printer, complaining about a timeout.

Until yesterday, I was using the older, Samsung ML-1710 driver from
Foomatic/gdi; I switched to Splix with the actual Xerox model, but
it made no difference.

Another printer, connected via USB, continues to function normally.

Thanks for all your good work,

Shai.

2012-02-04 Thread 魏銘廷
Package: im-config

Dear Maintainer,

I am going to reupload gcin and use HIME's way to package it. The packages
are separated like HIME, thus the description to gcin is updated, as well
as their translations (some substitute techique is used, but de.po is not
updated with HIME).

And, I found that both gcin and hime uses the wrong path to im-module.

The patch is given in this email.

Bug#658583: policykit-1 should be a required dependency for udisks

2012-02-04 Thread Charles-François Natali
Package: udisks
Version: 1.0.4-3

Hi,

Since policykit is required to mount removable medias such as USB
sticks, it would probably be a good idea to make it a required
dependency of udisks (for now it's only a recommendation).
I've configured aptitude to not install recommended packages by
default, and since a recent upgrade, removable medias mounting stopped
working under KDE.

Cheers,

The patch also switches form cdbs to dh8 sequencer that allows to have

I noticed the same behavior in VirtualBox installations from quite a
while, but I'm not sure if it's a VirtualBox oddity or not.
With your report it's the 2nd real hardware installation report who
mentions the same issue with graphical installation.

More feedback from graphical installations would be great.

Bug#658483: Please use the fork instead of original library.

2012-02-04 Thread Boris Pek
Hi,

No way, additional features from this fork get merged back once they are
 mature
and their API is reviewed. It's not debian's job to subvert OSS projects.

I know you are one of the authors of qxmpp. That explains your reaction to my
proposal.

But you haven't even tried to understand my arguments.

Debian Policy does not allow embedded copies of libraries:
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-source.html#s-embeddedfiles

But leechcraft package can not be build with original qxmpp library now.

I have proposed the logical solution: use the fork code in package until it is
accepted in upstream. After that package could switch back to original library.

There isn't any program in Debian using this library now. Your package is
standalone.

Currently I intend to add first program which uses this library. And I faced
with few problems which could be resolved quite simply in the proposed way.

If you continue insisting on your point I will have to make another package
(qxmmp-leechcraft for example), because we can't wait for years until upstream
merges necessary patches from the fork.

Bug#658590: please start with an initscript in S, not in initrd

2012-02-04 Thread Peter Palfrader
Package: fake-hwclock
Version: 0.1
Severity: normal

Hi,

currently fake-hwclock loads the hwclock state in initrd. Unfortunately
not all our systems that need fake-hwlock boot using an initrd - for
instance our octeon mips machines don't.

The usual hwclock script runs in S, from /etc/rcS.d/S05hwclockfirst in
our case.

It would probably make sense and it's AFAICS sufficient to do the
fake-hwclock at the same time, no need to do it in the initramfs.

I have changed our init script to include the following:
| # Default-Start: S
| # X-Start-Before:checkroot
[taken from S05hwclockfirst]

and
| start)
|/bin/fake-hwclock load
|;;
| status)
|echo We think it's currently `date -u`.
|;;

Also, as a side node, the init script probably should not use full paths,
and instead should set and export PATH at the top.

Cheers,
weasel

Bug#658483: Please use the fork instead of original library.

2012-02-04 Thread jeremy . laine
Why can't leechcraft be built with plain qxmpp? Qxmpp is modular by nature so
any additional managers can be provided in the application. The parts of the
code you really need merged back to qxmpp are modifications to existing
classes. I'd be happy to review such changes.

Dear Maintainer,

I tried to debianize GLFW package. It has dependencies: GL

libX11-dev, which are incorrect.

I propose transforming the library name to lowercase when
generating debian dependencies.

The patch is applied.

The Server got two Intel Xeon CPUs with two Hyper Threading Cores and a special

Is your system localised? If so could you try commenting out any use of

There is a bug recently fixed upstream with gettext.

For installation I used the expert mode and I chose the linux-image-2.6-486

I hope you can help me.

Bug#658596: ITP: lambda-term -- terminal manipulation library for OCaml

2012-02-04 Thread Nicolas Dandrimont
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Nicolas Dandrimont nicolas.dandrim...@crans.org

* Package name: lambda-term
  Version : 1.1
  Upstream Author : Jérémie Dimino
* URL : http://forge.ocamlcore.org/projects/lambda-term/
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: OCaml
Description : terminal manipulation library for OCaml

Lambda-term is a cross-platform library for manipulating the
terminal. It provides an abstraction for keys, mouse events, colors,
as well as a set of widgets to write curses-like applications.
 .
The main objective of lambda-term is to provide a higher level
functional interface to terminal manipulation than, for example,
ncurses, by providing a native OCaml interface instead of bindings to
 a C library.
 .
Lambda-term integrates with zed to provide text edition facilities in
console applications, and helps with encoding management, by
providing a high-level interface to iconv.

Bug#658483: Please use the fork instead of original library.

2012-02-04 Thread Georg Rudoy
Hi!

While I generally agree that it's better to keep one version of a
library in the repositories, and it's better be upstream version, in
case of QXmpp things are a bit more complicated.

First, patch accepting cycle is quite long — we in LeechCraft can't
wait for 2-4 months before features get accepted into the upstream
branch. We already implement most of the changes we need on LC side,
thanks QXmpp modularity, but sometimes we need to tweak and patch
QXmpp's core, as it was with XHTML-IM and In-Band Registration
support. And we think of implementing XEPs like Extended Stanza
Addressing and Message Carbons soon, and that once again requires as
to patch QXmpp core. Once again, LC is a vibrant project, rapidly
developing, and unfortunately it cannot be built with upstream QXmpp
now (and, I guess, in the nearest future as well). Implementing
support for building with both QXmpp versions is hard enough to not
being an option.

Second, since QXmpp is the primary (and only, for now) XMPP backend in
LeechCraft, people around LeechCraft sometimes want to patch QXmpp
themselves (I gave Jeremy a link to such patch some time ago), and
it's better and more handy for them to do it in already-established
community, environment and workflow. One may think that it actually
segregates the communities, but actually it's the reverse: it unifies
the communities, so in the end QXmpp benefits from code written by LC
people.

Third, AFAIK there are no packages depending on QXmpp in Debian right
now, so one shouldn't worry about binary compatibility issues.

Personally, I wish the upstream code could be replaced with the fork's
one for now, since that will make things easier for everyone, from
users to developers, and I actually don't see any sensible reason for
not replacing it.

Bug#658598: RM: libvdeplug2-dev -- NBS; Replaced by libvdeplug-dev which Provides it

2012-02-04 Thread Ludovico Gardenghi
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hello,

I'd like you to remove libvdeplug2-dev from unstable.

The libvdeplug2-dev package has recently been renamed to libvdeplug-dev
in order to simplify future Build-Depends if/when the SONAME will
change.

Since libvdeplug-dev Provides: libvdeplug2-dev, and since
libvdeplug2-dev can be safely replaced by libvdeplug-dev, there is no
need to keep the 2 version in the archive.

In addition, the presence of libvdeplug2-dev is preventing vde2 from
migrating to testing (it generates out of date excuses for all
architectures).

I'll take care of notifying the maintainers of the few packages which
still Build-Depend on libvdeplug2-dev instead of libvdeplug-dev for
updating them (actually I'm a comaintainer of umview, which is one of
them).

Thanks,

Ludovico

 Dear Maintainer,

The program hangs with the message Reading ??... displaying in the
top left corner directly after startup. Nothing seems to happen after that...
This occurs both when running it whitout any arguments
(presumably it then attempts to play from /dev/cdrom, though this is not
mentioned anywhere (as far as I can tell))
and when a directory is given on the commandline.
Unfortunately I only have one book to try it with, but the disk in question
works as it should in a physical player
which seems to indicate software trouble.

I very much hope this can be fixed (since there aren't that many choices for
 playing daisy books on linux)
and will gladly provide any information you may have use of.

The problem is due to lstat() always returning a null size on Linux for
/proc/*/exe, so the approach described in readlink(2) cannot be applied.
You will need a reallocation loop similar to what you did for get_line().

Bug#658606: Xen 4.0 dom0 boot hangs Waiting for /dev to be populated

2012-02-04 Thread Owen Dunn

Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64
Version: 4.0.1-4

After an upgrade to squeeze I've installed Xen 4.0, but when trying to
boot the Xen kernel the boot freezes at the message:

Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...

Nothing further usually [*] appears after this message, and after a short
time the screen becomes blank (and power saves, as if there is no signal)
and there appears to be no system activity: hard drive LEDs are inactive
and there's no network traffic.

[*] Sometimes a subsequent message appears about the pcspkr driver.

The caps lock LED on the keyboard does respond to pressing the Caps Lock
key.

The system is a Xeon E5502 in an Intel S5520SC Workstation Board. Booting
an ordinary amd64 kernel works normally.

Dear Maintainer,
without gstreamer0.10-tools sound notification doesn't work

So it should be added as a dependency.

Bug#626934: A possible man page attached

2012-02-04 Thread Helge Kreutzmann
tags 626934 + patch
thanks

You'll find a possible man page attached to this e-mail. I basically
took the upstream README file, tweaked it a little and formatted it
appropriately for man.

The page is written in SGML, simply convert them to troff by running:
docbook2man tomatoes.sgml

If you have any questions regarding this man page do not hesitate to
ask (please CC me explicitly, thanks).

It would be great if you could include the man page for Wheezy.

Thanks!

Greetings

para
emphasisI Have No Tomatoes/emphasis is an extreme leisure time
activity idea of which
culminates in the following question: How many tomatoes can you smash in
ten short minutes? If you have the time to spare, this game has the
vegetables just waiting to be eliminated!
/para

/refsect1

refsect1titleNOTES/title
para
Before starting the game, you should know that the game uses OpenGL for
hardware accelerated 2d amp; 3d graphics. This means that you must
have fully
OpenGL compatible graphics card in your PC. Your card also needs to be
able
to use 512x512 textures, and this rules out Voodoo 1, 2 and 3 (limited
to
256x256 textures).
/para

para
As for the CPU and memory requirements, I'd recommend something along
the
lines of Pentium II (or an AMD equivalent) and 64MB. The game works on
much
slower systems as well, as the game skips frames if the system can't
keep up
with the 60 FPS rate; this ensures that the game runs at the right
speed, you
just don't get very smooth animation.
/para

para
This game features solid game play with beautiful OpenGL API driven
isometric
3d graphics and nice music. It also includes a MOD player, and you can
use
your own MOD-type music in the game background. Just copy your
XM/S3M/IT/MOD - files to the filenamemusic/filename subdirectory of
emphasisI Have No Tomatoes/emphasis
and the game plays them. You can press keycapF1/keycap to skip a
song when ingame. There's
room for 128 MODs. Btw, if you don't have any MOD music, ModArchive
(ulink url=www.modarchive.comwww.modarchive.com/ulink) is a good
place to download some.
/para
/refsect1

refsect1titleCONFIGURATION/title
para
You may also want to set some options, such as the screen resolution and
color depth. By default, emphasisI Have No Tomatoes/emphasis starts
fullscreen in 800x600
resolution, 32bpp. To fine-tune the preferences to suit your PC better,
open
the file filenameconfig.cfg/filename in a text editor (Notepad will
do). Under
Unix this file is stored in filename~/.tomatoes//filename.
/para

para
Most likely you'll be interested in these lines:

600/para/listitem

listitemparaoptionvideo_mode_color_depth/option =

listitemparaoptionvideo_mode_fullscreen/option =
1/para/listitem

listitempara optionsound_enabled/option =
1/para/listitem
/itemizedlist
/para

para
To set the resolution, change the optionvideo_mode/option - line
(some common
resolutions include 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768). Most common color
depths are 16 and 32, and sometimes 24.
optionvideo_mode_fullscreen/option controls
whether the game starts in fullscreen or in a window. When running in
windowed mode, you can use any resolution you want (the 4:3 aspect ratio
modes are still preferred). If you don't have a sound card (or want to
turn
the sounds off), set optionsound_enabled/option to 0 (zero).
/para

para
Finally, if you want to know how many frames your system draws per
second
(FPS), set optionshow_fps/option to 1. FPS should be over 60 for
smooth animation.
/para

para
The default keys can be changed from the Options menu in game, so no
need
change them here.
/para

para
When you're satisfied with the filenameconfig.cfg/filename
settings, by all means, proceed
to start the game :)

Bug#658608: mail-notification: Please add support for national yahoo domains.

2012-02-04 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Package: mail-notification
Version: 5.4.dfsg.1-3+b1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,
the yahoo mail option automatically appends '@yahoo.com' to the username so
it doesn't work with national yahoo domains like yahoo.com.br (for Brazil).
So I request that the account setup for yahoo should take this into account
(like for instance by requiring that we add the full username@domain).

I guess this is an upstream bug but I'll still check that.

Bug#658609: texlive-latex-extra: cooking.sty does not use recipeendhook, which is used by package option newpage

2012-02-04 Thread Alexander Bugl
Package: texlive-latex-extra
Version: 2009-10
Severity: minor
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

the file /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/cooking/cooking.sty seems to
contain a bug which renders one package option (newpage) useless.

The package option newpage is documented here:
/usr/share/doc/texlive-latex-extra-doc/latex/cooking/cooking.pdf

The documentation says: There are two further package options controlling the
page breaks between recipes:
\usepackage[nopage]{cooking}
allows recipes anywhere on the page, whereas
\usepackage[newpage]{cooking}
forces a new page after each recipe. The latter is the default.

But this does not work as expected.

It looks like cooking.sty does define \recipeendhook, but does not use it, so
this simple patch resolves the problem:

$ diff cooking.sty.debian-orig cooking.sty
94c94
   \end{list}%
---
   \end{list}\recipeendhook%

The bug and the solution seem to be ages old, both are mentioned e.g. here:
http://de.narkive.com/2004/11/9/748547-usepackage-newpage-cooking-macht-
keinen-seitenumbruch.html (sorry, German only).

I hope you can resolve the issue in Debian and probably forward the bug
upstream, so it gets fixed in the CTAN version of cooking.sty.

With regards, Alex

Bug#658610: disabled manpage_hyphens.diff and manpage_debian_specifics.diff

2012-02-04 Thread Robert Millan
Package: zfsutils
Version: 9.0-1
Severity: minor

When updating zfsutils package to 9.0-1, I had to disable the following patches
as they didn't apply cleanly:

#manpage_hyphens.diff
#manpage_debian_specifics.diff

These need to be resynced.

However, given the nature of these patches I'd recommend attempting to
merge them upstream instead. The first one is very large and prone to
breaking with every update, the second one is not so large but
modifies lines that contain timestamps (same problem).

Bug#658612: dragonplayer: should claim support for application/x-cd-image to work with DVD images

2012-02-04 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: dragonplayer
Version: 4:4.4.5-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

I discovered this issue in Squeeze. I'm unable to test in later
versions at the moment.

When using konqueror to browse through my collection of DVD ISOs, I
tried to click on one of them and expected dragonplayer to start or at
least for KDE to propose either to use dragonplayer or k3b. Instead
only k3b was started.

The reason for this is that /usr/share/applications/kde4/k3b.desktop
list application/x-cd-image as a supported MIME type, while
/usr/share/applications/kde4/dragonplayer.desktop do not. Please add
the MIME type.

When I start 'dragon /path/to/dvd.iso', the DVD plays just fine, so I
know dragonplayer support the DVD ISOs. :)

Here is a patch to implement the change:

Dear Maintainer,
The package sync-ui does not provide any icon.

That's correct. Please describe why you need an icon, so that I can see
the actual nature of your bug report.

   Regards,
   Tino

An icon might be useful when placing sync-ui in the quicklaunch
  bar.

Are you sure you just mean an icon, and not a desktop file? The latter
includes information how the program is started, a (translated)
 description and an icon location.

 Regards,
 Tino

The desktop file is present and an icon is specified there.
icon=sync
But there is no icon with that name. I copied the icon from
a previous version as workaround.

 Dear Maintainer,

I am going to reupload gcin and use HIME's way to package it. The packages
are separated like HIME, thus the description to gcin is updated, as well
as their translations (some substitute techique is used, but de.po is not
 updated with HIME).

OK. This time, I do not want to upload too quickly. :-)

You can upload first. Let me patch git repo and get translation
finished first by proofing by Aron.

Thanks.

Bug#658613: private mount name space for chroot(8)?

2012-02-04 Thread Harald Dunkel
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: coreutils
Version: 8.13-3
Severity: wishlist

If I chroot into a subdirectory, then /proc/mounts shows
me 3 mounts for /. Sample session:

{root@cecil:~ 752} mount /dev/sdh2 /mnt
{root@cecil:~ 753} mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc
{root@cecil:~ 754} chroot /mnt
# cat /proc/mounts | grep ' / '
rootfs / rootfs rw 0 0
/dev/disk/by-uuid/68cc0c8f-306a-44bd-af2d-8441039bae5e / ext4
rw,noatime,user_xattr,barrier=1,data=ordered,discard 0 0
/dev/sdh2 / ext4 rw,noatime,user_xattr,acl,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0

Of course only the 3rd line is valid, but how should a script
running within the chroot know? Do you think it would be
possible to use the CLONE_NEWNS option for clone(2) to
hide all the invalid mount points outside of the new directory
tree?

Of course I am not sure that coreutils is the right package
to fix this, or if such a change is worth the effort. Please
reassign if necessary.

Many thanx

Harri

Now it starts to get interesting. What previous version do you use
where the icon exists? What is the exact pathname of the old icon? I
see that the version in squeeze contains a file
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/sync.png. It would be nice to know

This bug requests that laptop-mode-tools be fixed in *STABLE*, so it must

Please avoid using the -done BTS alias without a Version: pseudo-header.
The BTS itself got pissed it was used like that, and reopened the bug losing
all fixed information.

No but why you are asking me? This was my first reaction. I now see I
hinted to make an upload. I forgot about it since I do not use this.

source ibus-m17n (source, utils)

I am not even listed. Since LI is quiet these days, you are in the #1
position to make a new upload. It is DMUA.

If you have problem uploading, I can sponsor it.

(Please note I do not know nor I checked if the proposed pach is the
right one. Thus I am a bit uncomfortable taking too much
responsibility on this package.)

Hi Debian Perl maintainers,
The fix for http://bugs.debian.org/657746 involved a patch to another
package (MooseX::Getopt). That has since been applied and a package put on
the CPAN. Please package App-Prolix version 0.03, which correctly sets its
prereqs to the fixed version.

Thanks very much,

We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of

* Fix subtlety in dependency versioning (closes: #658099)

This bug is not yet fixed.

tesseract-ocr 3.02-2 (as well as 3.02-1, btw.) still ships with
Depends: tesseract-ocr-eng (= 3.01~) | tesseract-ocr-language (= 3.01~)

Since versioned dependencies consider only real packages, the versioned
dependency to the pure virtual tesseract-ocr-language package is
completely useless.
If you really need to have this dependency versioned, the usual approach
is to create a specific versioned virtual package like, for example,
xorg-video-abi-$version.

Depending tesseract-ocr to tesseract-ocr-language-3.01 and having all
the language packages (additionally?) provide this should do the trick.
