OpenNebula). Don't you think the package should be named ec2-cloud-init ? Or do we really expect this package to be multiple cloud provider compliant (would need to know in this case which provider we want to target at image generation)? Even compatible APIs to extract user data (ssh keys..., ) need to connect to a specific end point IP, which will differ between providers (and/or zone). To face this last problem, it means that configuration is needed to create the image (debian installer specific question for cloud?) Not my problem... You put the burden on me, I'm giving you the burden since you obviously took the time failing to contact me to ask and ascertain whether the maintainer might actually be in the process of doing anything with the package. The RC issues were introduced by a previous NMU, the issues are resolved in the new upstream release so as far as I'm concerned their "wont-fix" issues in this version. But as I'm turning the package over to you, do what you like. On 12.11.2012 21:43, Michael Gilbert wrote: On Mon, Nov 12, 2012 at 9:34 PM, Jeremy T. Bug#693093: xpra: please demote "ssh-askpass | ssh-askpass-fullscreen"
tags 693093 wontfix moreinfo -- Hi Jakub, I'm very glad you're one of the Xpra users. :) I also packaged its companion "winswitch" but it is waiting for sponsor. No it doesn't. :( In Xpra 0.7.2 upstream fixed the following issue: https://www.xpra.org/trac/ticket/203 and silently introduced this dependency (it's not mentioned in #203 or changelog, neither upstream updated their debian packaging with this dependency). That's how I missed it with first upload of 0.7.2. As I use public key authentication I didn't have any problems connecting to my usual Xpra session until yesterday when I tried to connect with 0.7.2 client from another computer which could connect only through SSH password authentication. To my surprise Xpra failed to display password prompt due to lack of ssh-askpass binary. So I promptly introduce ssh-askpass to Depends as it is a new genuine dependency. > Please demote it to Recommends or Suggests, > whichever is more appropriate. I hope you'll agree with me that whatever is required for attaching with SSH password authentication is an essential and therefore qualifies for Depends. Please advise if we can close this issue. > (Also note that the ssh-askpass-fullscreen alternative appears to be > redundant: ssh-askpass-fullscreen provides the ssh-askpass virtual > package.) I know. Perhaps you're right and depenency on virtual package would be just enough, without explicit list of alternative(s). I know it is unnecessary but do you think it could be something like "ssh-askpass-fullscreen | ssh-askpass". to promote a particular alternative? Thanks. Looking through the existing blacklist, it seems we can drop hwclock-first, since that sysv initscript was removed from util-linux. We should probably do that post-wheezy, though. While at it, the module-init-tools.service -> systemd-modules-load.service symlink is also no longer really required post-wheezy. It has been replaced by kmod. As I need chrpath to work for cross-building 9or at least not get in the way, I noticed this and packaged up 0.14 to test. The package is here: http://people.debian.org/~wookey/bootstrap/ubunturepo/pool/main/c/chrpath/ I 1) added a watch file so new tarball releases like this can easily be dealth with 2) Updated packaging for a couple of added/removed files 3) Set the package to be Multi-Arch: foreign so that cross-build dependencies work. I'm not entirely sure that chrpath will now with will all architecture cross combinations, but it seems to work for the common ones I just tried of amd64/arm64 amd64/armel amd64/armhf. The latter two were broken with 0.13. We may still have a little-endian/big-endian issue, or is that expected to work now too? Bug#647747: network-manager-openvpn-gnome: segfaults when using a private key with a password
Hello everyone! Andreas' patch looks like to be more reliable and compatible with library's logic. Definitely, it works too. I've tested gnutls26 2.12.21-3 with 30_strlen_on_null.diff - normal package build: (seems to be) successful self-tests during build, [skipped many actions] and finally restart dependent applications with new shared lib. No more segfaults, openvpn connects successfully. I've tested long-long L2 tunnel to enterprise' private network - everything has worked. I do wonder if these might confuse users, although I'm not sure if there's a way to avoid them. I also think this is a problem. I think these prompts are a greater hassle that having to install the libraries manually. I also think that the majority of ia32-libs users will not need them and that the fraction actually needing them will have above average experience. I suggest removing them from the dependency list or putting them into Suggests. (I have not checked if ia32-libs would then still indirectly depend on them though.) Bug#693089: tacacs+: Please document reload action in init.d usage line
Package: tacacs+ Version: 4.0.4.19-11 Severity: minor Tags: patch Hello, the tacacs_plus initscript supports the reload action, but does not document this in the usage line Please change echo "Usage: $N {start|stop|force-stop|restart|force-reload|status|check}" >&2 to echo "Usage: $N {start|stop|force-stop|restart|force-reload|reload|status|check}" >&2 This is not a purely cosmetical change as it might see at the first glance. systemd, an sysvinit replacement, converts LSB initscripts to systemd units using a generator program. Up to Debian version 44-4 it assumed all init scripts supported the reload action, which broke quite a few of them but worked fine for tacacs+. In 44-5, which is now in wheezy, a patch was added to only use reload for the LSB init files which support them. This is done heuristically by looking for "reload" in the Usage line. See this commit http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-systemd/systemd.git;a=commit;h=c839c5f5c98ea112588cc7ce7eef8485413ee11e Since tacacs+ does not list reload the capability is not set, which makes invoke-rc.d/systemctl in the logrotate stanza fail miserably /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: Failed to issue method call: Job type reload is not applicable for unit tacacs_plus.service. invoke-rc.d: initscript tacacs_plus, action "reload" failed. error: error running non-shared postrotate script for /var/log/tac_plus.log of '/var/log/tac_plus.log /var/log/tac_plus.acct ' Failed to issue method call: Job type reload is not applicable for unit tacacs_plus.service. invoke-rc.d: initscript tacacs_plus, action "reload" failed. error: error running non-shared postrotate script for /var/log/tac_plus.acct of '/var/log/tac_plus.log /var/log/tac_plus.acct ' run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1 I don't think this will qualify as wheezy material right now unfortunately, so I think we will have to live with it for this release. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages tacacs+ depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii libc62.13-35 ii libpam0g 1.1.3-7.1 ii libtacacs+1 4.0.4.19-11 ii libwrap0 7.6.q-24 ii python 2.7.3~rc2-1 tacacs+ recommends no packages. tacacs+ suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Yeah, Bug is not completely disappeared, my test was done in new formatted partition, which was almost free, and no any error was appeared for image 160Gb. But when I tried to format 160Gb image file on the other machine, where the 2Tb partition is full more than 80% and fragmented, I could reproduce the bug. I'm not sure that these facts are directly connected to bug reproduction, but doing few test on different machines, I'm able to reproduce the error. >> This doesn't include any of the changes that were >> expected to fix this bug, as you did not report that you had tested them. Bug#693086: brasero: Doesn't work with UTF-16LE encoded .CUE files
Package: brasero Version: 3.4.1-4 Severity: important I have a backup of an audio CD created with ExactAudioCopy, which is a set of 16-bit FLAC files with a .cue cuesheet. The cuesheet is encoded with UTF-16LE, and contains the appropraite BOM, as well as DOS line endings. Opening this with Brasero confuses Brasero. Changing the file encoding to UTF-8 (with BOM) or ASCII allows Brasero to work with the cuesheet as expected. Right, I was thinking of a possible new libimager-qrcode-perl upload _whith_ a versioned dependency on libimager-perl >= 0.90. Sorry for having been unclear. Of course if they don't update libimager-qrcode-perl they'll never get a fix for #692979 :) But if they do, they get the new enough libimager-perl.
