This is the exact same bug I with your deb packages of llvm-3.3/clang-3.3 and a

I cannot reproduce this issue. The llvm jenkins jobs are fine:

I think you should report this bug upstream.
You should also try with the autotools build. Until bug [1] is fixed, I

Do we know how many of the lesstif2 reverse dependencies are libraries
whose ABI would change if rebuilt with motif instead?

Bug#710868: #710868 xpra: does not show password prompt unless I install ssh-askpass-gnome

2013-06-03 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Hi,

thanks for triaging the bugs so fast! However, I think the fact that
password prompt is not shown and too short timeout might still be
separate issues? So maybe #710866 and #710868 should not be merged?

Bug#711030: mplayer: Sound cracking on a Sheeva Plug

2013-06-03 Thread Ubuntu6226
Package: mplayer
Version: 2:1.0~rc3++final.dfsg1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I have a Sheeva with Debian Squeeze.

aplay and mplayer have sound cracking. Mplayer is much better, almost perfect
compared to aplay, but still some cracking
remain all the time.

I tried to fix it with working on the /etc but never managed.

It is strange to me, is it Debian or the Sheeva itself (hardware) issue?

Yes, but in the previous uploaded version there are in "patch-section"
only Makefile, badpixels and manpages. You have now also configure,
Makefile.in etc.
Please, add into the patch only Makefile and badpixels. Manpages can be stored
somewhere in debian-directory (debian/manpages, for example).

It is absolutely your decision, I just suggested. Please, feel free to choose
the best suitable way for you.

Ok, looks good. Please, clean patches, try to fix watch-file, use DEP-5 for
copyright, check README.debian (update or remove it, if the info is outdated),
use dcraw.manpages and dcraw.exapmles instead of putting them into the
override_*.

Thanks for your work,

Hi Andrew,

RFP bugs have to be reported against the 'wnpp' package, reassigned

Actually F1 behavior wasn't controlled by those checkboxes even before.
There was a widget for key assignment, which has been removed because it
was a duplicate of gtk accelerator.

So the good news is that you can remove that keybinding: just enable the
editable gtk accelerator if they are not already (Xfce
Settings/Appearance/Settings). Then in terminal, open the help menu,
select (just hover) the F1 entry and press backspace. It should remove
the accelerator and keybinding.

phpmyadmin uses php json functions without declaring dependency on php5-json.
It was provided by php5-common, but it is separate package now, which leads to

That's actually a vte issue. Vte doesn't support anymore to set the TERM
environment variable. You can set the emulation, but it's not the same,
messing with emulation mode can lead to really bad results, so vte now
only supports XTERM emulation mode.

http://docs.xfce.org/apps/terminal/preferences (search for “Emulation”)
has some info about that, along with
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7178 and
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=640940

For now, you can try to set TERM in your shell with something like:

# Enable 256 color capabilities for appropriate terminals

# Set this variable in your local shell config if you want remote
# xterms connecting to this system, to be sent 256 colors.
# This can be done in /etc/csh.cshrc, or in an earlier profile.d script.
# SEND_256_COLORS_TO_REMOTE=1

# Terminals with any of the following set, support 256 colors (and are local)
local256="$COLORTERM$XTERM_VERSION$ROXTERM_ID$KONSOLE_DBUS_SESSION"

if [ -n "$local256" ] || [ -n "$SEND_256_COLORS_TO_REMOTE" ]; then

  case "$TERM" in
'xterm') TERM=xterm-256color;;
'screen') TERM=screen-256color;;
'Eterm') TERM=Eterm-256color;;
  esac
  export TERM

  if [ -n "$TERMCAP" ] && [ "$TERM" = "screen-256color" ]; then
TERMCAP=$(echo "$TERMCAP" | sed -e 's/Co#8/Co#256/g')
export TERMCAP

At work we are in the process of switching from Ubuntu precise to Debian
wheezy. I only just realised yesterday that this bug hadn't been fixed
in Debian wheezy. Noticing the stable-NEW freeze date, I filed a bug.
Until it is fixed, we'll just use a version with the patch applied to
it. Steve mentioned on IRC that he has no objections to an NMU.

Hello Paul,

That seems to be quite a hurry for a non RC bug. Dunno what other pkg-samba team
members think but we might prefer getting more time before considering
this issue for a p-u upload (there are other issues also that might

Did you had a chance to already look at the upload for unstable? Can
you also contact the Stable Release Managers for asking then for the
inclusion in the next point release? (Note that the freeze for the NEW

High, I was actually looking into the differences between debuild and
dpkg-buildpackage recently when implementing no signing on UNRELEASED,
and --force-sign support.

> I'd be glad to help if there's some guidance on what should be moved to

As I mentioned on this bug report, I don't think some of the features
from debuild should be enabled by default, because dpkg-buildpackage gets
used on build daemons for example, but support should certainly be added.
Let me finish up the perl cleanup (to be finished before 1.17.0), and
then I can come back to you in case there's anything missing.

Thanks,
Guillem

Oops, sorry, I meant 'lspci -v -s :01.2'. Anyway, I don't think
that's needed as the boot log shows enough information.

So there's the IRQ it should get.

Now, IRQ routing is done in the file arch/x86/pci/irq.c. Add
'#define DEBUG' to the top of that file to enable more detailed log
messages.

Since your machine doesn't have an IO-APIC, the relevant code should be
in pcibios_lookup_irq(). If the log messages still aren't sufficient to
work out where it fails, you could add more dev_dbg() calls there.

Hi.

I have a rar file that bsdtar isn't able to decompress, though both unar
(the Free decompressor) and unrar (the non-free one) sucessfully decompress
the file.

Just as a sanity check, I compared the output of unar with that of unrar and
they were bit-by-bit the same.

While trying to decompress the file with bsdtar, I received the messages:

Unfortunately, I can't send the file to the bug tracking system, but I can

Bug#711021: mount.nfs timeout for GETPORT is much too short

2013-06-03 Thread Ben Hutchings
Package: nfs-common
Version: 1:1.2.6-3
Severity: important

This NFS client stopped being able to mount from my NFS server at boot
time, around the time I upgraded them both to wheezy. I think the
problem started when only the server was upgraded and was ultimately
triggered by avahi-daemon being installed. Since cups now recommends
avahi-daemon, this can be considered a common configuration.

I took a packet capture on both sides (which matched, so no packets are
being lost) and saw that:

- The client makes a GETPORT call
- The client retries a few times at 1 second intervals, then (if using
  TCP) closes the connection
- About 5 seconds after the first call from the client, the server sends
a reply. (strace-ing rpcbind showed it requesting a reverse DNS lookup
from avahi, which apparently has a 5 second timeout for mDNS lookups.
The client should have had a proper reverse DNS entry, but didn't.)
- The client sends a RST (TCP) or ICMP port unreachable error (UDP) when
  receiving the reply

The relevant functions include nfs_pmap_getport() in
support/nfs/getport.c, which even has a comment to say:

 * 2. This version times out quickly by default. It time-limits the
 * connect process as well as the actual RPC call, and even allows the
 * caller to specify the timeout.

I don't know why it does this, though perhaps the intent was to
fail-over quickly when auto-detecting whether the remote portmap/rpcbind
uses TCP or UDP. But having failed to query on both protocols, the
timeout ought to be increased when retrying.

Ben.

Bug#711020: reptyr: New upstream release: 0.4

2013-06-03 Thread Richard Hartmann
Package: reptyr
Version: 0.3-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi Evan,

there's been a new release of reptyr some time ago, please see

https://github.com/nelhage/reptyr/tags

If you need/want help with packaging or maintaining, please let me know.
I will most likely deprecate retty and replace it with a migration
package to reptyr so I have substantial interest in this package being
up to date.

Thanks,
Richard

Bug#711019: load_video produces "file not found" errors and causes GRUB to pause when booting

2013-06-03 Thread Josh Triplett
Package: grub-pc
Version: 2.00-14
Severity: important

I noticed several "file not found" errors from GRUB when trying to boot,
both before the menu showed up and when trying to boot a kernel. In the
latter case, GRUB prompted me to hit a key before it would continue
booting.

If I hit 'e' to edit the boot stanza, and delete the load_video line,
the "file not found" errors go away, and GRUB no longer prompts for
a key before continuing.

I am waiting for the last build to finish and I will update the symbols again.

I also had to write a patch to port choreonoid to Boost Filesystem v3 so
that the package compiles on Ubuntu. I hope this won't disturb the symbols
file.

Thanks for following this issue.

Bug#711016: vilistextum: no output from one-word document

2013-06-03 Thread Kevin Ryde
Package: vilistextum
Version: 2.6.9-1.1
Severity: normal

The file foo.html processed as

vilistextum foo.html -

produces no output. I expected it to print

oneword

It seems that html which is a single word like foo.html with no
newlines, except after the closing , doesn't produce any output.
If there's a newline just after or the like then it works.

Bug#710989: RFS: plover/2.2.0-4 ITP

2013-06-03 Thread Paul Wise
On Tue, Jun 4, 2013 at 5:26 AM, Thomas Thurman wrote:

> I am looking for a sponsor for my package "plover".

As promised, here is a review...

There are some that I require to be fixed before I would upload this to Debian:

There is a security issue (DoS attack); on multi-user systems, any
user can prevent other users from running the program. I'm not sure
but there may also be a symlink attack. Anyway, please ask upstream
switch to using this for the location of the lock file:

os.path.expanduser('~/.plover.lock')

I am unable to find where the tarball you have uploaded came from. The
URL in debian/copyright has a different md5sum and the watch file
doesn't work. The tarball must match an upstream released tarball.

The debian/copyright file is incomplete, plover/machine/txbolt.py is
copyright by Hesky Fisher. The Debian ftp-team will not accept this
package:

http://ftp-master.debian.org/REJECT-FAQ.html

In addition to these issues, there are some other things that would be
nice to fix at some point:

Please get the patch and manual page included upstream. If they are
already forwarded upstream please add a comment to the manual page and
a DEP-3 header to the patch.

http://www.debian.org/social_contract
http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep3/

The comment in the debian/rules file is not needed, please remove it.

--buildsystem=python_distutils should not be needed in debian/rules,
dh should detect the build system automatically.

The watch file doesn't work, please fix it, probably by switching to
the pypi location. You can test it by running uscan --verbose. Tips
here:

http://wiki.debian.org/debian/watch

You may want to run wrap-and-sort -sa to make diffs of debian/control
and other files more readable in future.

I would suggest removing the last paragraph from the package
description. The implementation language and the license are
irrelevant to users. Implementation language can be indicated via
debtags once the package is in Debian. The license info is in
debian/copyright. The pronunciation of the program's name isn't
something that is useful either.

http://debtags.debian.net/

I would suggest that 'python' is not the correct section. Either
'misc' or 'utils' would be appropriate.

The upstream setup.py hard-codes /usr for the location of the image
and freedesktop menufile. This means that it will try to write to /usr
even when the user specified --prefix ~/opt.

The upstream README.txt file includes installation information that
isn't useful to users of the Debian binary packages. I would suggest
that install info should be split out into INSTALL.txt or
README.install or similar.

The URLs in PKG-INFO, plover/__init__.py are different to the ones in
debian/ and they all redirect to another page entirely. I'd suggest
sorting this out with upstream.

debian/plover.manpages, debian/rules debian/watch do not need the
extra blank lines.

Package: libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0

Often during upgrades of other packages we are told to try
gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders >

so we do,

bash: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache: cannot

/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache
bash: gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders: command not found

And we end up causing more damage than before.

So can you please figure out a better way to do whatever it is that you
want, without involving the system administrator.

Looking through the devscripts backlog, I came across the discussion in
#476100 and this bug.

Since we're at the start of a release cycle, what are the chances we can
make some progress on moving functionality from debuild to dpkg-bp?

I'd be glad to help if there's some guidance on what should be moved to
dpkg-bp and/or what the next steps would be from dpkg's perspective.

Cheers,

Ultimately, this is a bug in the unico gtk engine.
The clearlooks-phenix-theme package originally used the unico engine but
switched away from this engine in version 3.x, that's why that package
is no longer affected by this issue.

Re-assigning and merging this bug with the existing one(s).

Karolina, any plans when a fixed gtk3-engines-unico package will be

Hi.

The ifupdown (package) now supports parsing of /etc/network/interfaces.d/,
which is especially
useful for desktop hosts (where NM seems targeted towards), as one can put the
wireless
interfaces there, and make only those with passwords non-world-readable.

The ifupdown plugin from NM seems to not yet support/parse
/etc/network/interfaces.d/, at least
no connections configured there show up in NM.

Hi,

After using this tool for a while I noticed this is not exactly what I need
so I will not be in charge of getting this package in the archive.

However, since it's a very simple tool, the packaging work is very easy and
is almost complete so I committed what I have done to collab-maint just in
case anybody else want to continue working on this.

Please include the attached patch that allows net rpc share allowedusers
to work with Windows 2008r2 servers. The patch has been committed
upstream[1], has been backported to Ubuntu lucid[2] and has been used in

against wheezy samba and it fixes the issue on our systems.

If you won't have time for this before Sunday's stable-NEW freeze,
please let me know so that I can upload an NMU.

Bug#710440: scrypt: Please provide a -dev package

2013-06-03 Thread Barak A. Pearlmutter
Okay, I picked your commit and made some related modifications. See
collab-maint main branch for details.

I'm about ready to dput it ... but I sort of feel like a reality check
is needed. Here is my question.

There is no static (or dynamic) library. (Obviously the build system
could be tweaked to generate them. But it isn't.) Is the -dev package
actually useful without them? If so, could you give a short example?
Just a trivial main program, maybe something that could be put in
/usr/share/doc/scrypt-dev/examples/.

That's a different issue.

You are using the unico GTK engine which doesn't work with gtk 3.8 [1].

Please use the Adwaita theme until unico is fixed.

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'Adwaita'

additionally features tests for the tag in the testsuite. With the
latest Git HEAD, I've also been able to successfully build lintian with
the patch.

Again, it should be a simple matter of

git am --signoff 0001-New-check-texi2html-is-obsolete-Closes-710466.patch

to apply and sign-off on the patch.

Best wishes,
Ryan

This seems to be the problem. Do you still get a relocation error
message?

It owuld be very helpful if you you determine what gcc compiler switches
your hardening setup is adding that produce these relocs. Gcl does not
attempt to support all of them, especially as it thinks it is
controlling the switches to the C compiler. (lisp variable
compiler::*cc*). Maybe you could run under strace -f and grep the exec
gcc?

Take care,

Bug#711009: xfce4-terminal: always redirects F1 keypress to help

2013-06-03 Thread brian m. carlson
Package: xfce4-terminal
Version: 0.6.2-1
Severity: normal

After the XFCE 4.10 upgrade, I noticed that F1 is no longer available to
use in the terminal. Even when I have both checkboxes checked in Edit →
Preferences → Advanced → Menubar Access, pressing F1 causes a help
dialog to pop up. In previous versions, this worked fine, and so I
wrote a custom application that uses F1 for other purposes. Now this
functionality is no longer available to my application. Please restore
the previous behavior.

Bug#711008: xfce4-terminal: changing terminal type locks up all terminals

2013-06-03 Thread brian m. carlson
Package: xfce4-terminal
Version: 0.6.2-1
Severity: important

Before the XFCE 4.10 upgrade, I used to have my terminal type set to
xterm-256color in the preferences. However, now that terminal type is
set to xterm. If I edit the terminal type to be xterm-256color, I get
the following message in every terminal, and the terminal locks up and
is unusable until I set it back:

*** VTE ***: Failed to load terminal capabilities from '/etc/termcap'

Note that the message appears as soon as I type the first character into
the terminal type box (that is, the "-" character). Opening a new
terminal allows me to type, but it ignores the Enter key, which makes it
useless. I am using zsh with a highly-customized configuration, but
this worked fine before the upgrade. I had not noticed the problem
until now because my zsh configuration automatically forces
xterm-256color when that TERM definition is available and the terminal
is an xfce4-terminal.

I don't know if the message is misleading or not, but /etc/termcap does
not exist, nor should it because Debian uses terminfo.

Hi.

It seems this package once contained a conffile:

but no longer...
Could you please clean that properly up with dpkg's mechanisms.

No, I used the one from logwatch. But I checked again and saw that I was
wrong (a bit). The script was never failing as it was not there in old
versions. :-D

However, in the new package this script is there and is broken.

The correct location for mdadm.conf is the second one,

Bug#695968: linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64: ath.ko starts printing thousands of error messages several minutes after boot

2013-06-03 Thread Joel Diaz
A patch has been posted to linux-wireless which accomplishes the
workaround of disabling wireless power saving (ie. iw dev wlan0 set
power_save off) by disabling power saving in the ath9k driver itself.

http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=137005085710866&w=2

I applied it to Debian's 3.2.41 kernel and verified that power saving is
indeed disabled (after disabling my on-boot shell script which
accomplished the same thing of course):

root@debian:~# iw dev wlan0 get power_save
Power save: off

Bug#711005: openjdk-7-jre-headless: clean up legacy config file /etc/java-7-openjdk/security/nss-amd64.cfg

2013-06-03 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Package: openjdk-7-jre-headless
Version: 7u21-2.3.9-5
Severity: normal

Hi.

It seems this package once contained a conffile:
/etc/java-7-openjdk/security/nss-amd64.cfg
but no longer...
Could you please clean that properly up with dpkg's mechanisms.

Cheers,
Chris.

The bug is fixed in libproxy0 0.3.1-6 (or earlier). The Ubuntu bug
#1038578 is linked to number one VLC crash [1], but I think that link is
wrong. The backtrace of the number one VLC crash has no libproxy in it.
If Ubuntu bug #1038578 was more widespread, it would probably have one
reporter collecting all needed crash information, wouldn't it?

What would we loose when we switch from libproxy to the plain old
$http_proxy? I tend to think that we should just keep libproxy enabled
and wait for the 2.1 release (that will come soon!?). What do you
recommend, Rémi?

@Jules: I don't think that it makes sense to bump the version of a
dependency for every bug in the dependency, unless the bug renders the
package useless for every user.

Bug#710625: performous: FTBFS: xtime.hh:27:34: error: expected unqualified-id before numeric constant

2013-06-03 Thread peter green

It's a problem in boost which is fixed in 1.50. TIME_UTC is a C11 macro
that colides with boost::TIME_UTC. In Boost 1.50, this constant was renamed
to TIME_UTC_.

You should update your Build-Depends (upstream has already fixed this).

Unfortunately changing the build-depends to point at boost 1.50 or 1.53
results in a different error.

In file included from /usr/include/boost/filesystem.hpp:15:0,
from /performous-0.7.0.new/game/fs.hh:3,
from /performous-0.7.0.new/game/controllers.cc:9:
/usr/include/boost/filesystem/config.hpp:16:5: error: #error Compiling
Filesystem version 3 file with BOOST_FILESYSTEM_VERSION defined != 3

So I decided to take a different approach. Rather than trying to move to
a newer boost I decided to try and deal with the problem with 1.49. It
seems that the renaming of the enum value has been backported to 1.49 by
debian but performous doesn't know this. I edited the code to
unconditionally use the new name

I also changed the build-depends to 1.49 explicitly so the package will
continue to build after the boost-defaults are changed and versioned the
build-depends on the version that backported the enum fix.

I will be uploading this fix to Raspbian jessie along with a raspbian
specific change for an issue that I could not reproduce in debian. I
have no immediate plans to upload this as a NMU but I may change my mind
on that later.

Patch (including NMU changelog) is attached.

Note: i'm just a guy who stubled across this bug while working on a
deriviative, I have no relation to the package.

Bug#702040: plymouth breaks initramfs-tools on sid

2013-06-03 Thread Ben Caradoc-Davies
The new pango packages on sid break the plymouth initramfs-tools hook,
preventing kernel installation.

This is the same as the earlier report, just a confirmation with a list
of pango packages.

Kind regards,
Ben.

Bug#711003: choreonoid: FTBFS on 64-bit non-x86: cast from pointer to udword loses precision

2013-06-03 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: choreonoid
Version: 1.1.0+dfsg-3
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Builds of choreonoid on 64-bit non-x86 architectures such as ia64 have
been failing:

/«BUILDDIR»/choreonoid-1.1.0+dfsg/src/Collision/Opcode/OPC_AABBTree.cpp:295:31:
error: cast from 'Opcode::AABBTreeNode*' to 'udword {aka unsigned int}' loses
precision [-fpermissive]

/«BUILDDIR»/choreonoid-1.1.0+dfsg/src/Collision/Opcode/OPC_AABBTree.cpp:309:18:
error: cast from 'Opcode::AABBTreeNode*' to 'udword {aka unsigned int}' loses
precision [-fpermissive]

These errors appear to stem from OPC_AABBTree.h's definition of
EXWORD, which doesn't acknowledge such architectures:

  #ifdef __x86_64
  #define EXWORD uqword
  #else
  #define EXWORD udword
  #endif

Please try substituting uintptr_t, from , and check for
other affected code.

Thanks!

powerpc; could you please take another look?

Bug#711001: netbase: support /etc/services.d

2013-06-03 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Package: netbase
Version: 5.1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Hi.

This probably needs to done upstream (and likely in libc??)...

What would be really awesome is having and /etc/services.d/ directory
in addition to the file /etc/services.

It should be parsed after /etc/services, so that one can override earlier
entries (IIRC; later entries in /etc/services override earlier ones)...
and /etc/services.d/* should also be parsed in order (e.g. like with run-parts).

Cheers,
Chris.

Due to lack of time and interest, I'd ask for someone else to take over this
package.
The package's descritption follows:

Description: Plugin allowing external viewers to be launched inside Mozilla
mozplugger allows you to seamlessly integrate external applications
to view files downloaded from the web that Mozilla can not normally
handle. The application is embedded within a Mozilla window as to act
like and feel like a true plugin.

This allows you to view PDFs, Postscript files, animations and
movies, amongst other file types all from within Mozilla (with
 supporting applications).

Hi.

I've just noted that libpam-modules no longer
contains /etc/security/namespace.d, which is still in wheezy, though.

The changelog doesn't notice anyting either...
According to Steve this isn't by intention, so please add it back.

I think it's handy to have in place so that users know by just looking
at the directory, that this functionallity exists.

Thanks,

I know that's bad practice in general, but the name libvibrant6 last
appeared in sarge, which reached EOL five years ago, so I considered it
safe to reuse by now; I recall similar policies for C++ and Fortran ABI
transitions.

OK, thanks. In that case, the only concern is a de facto conflict with
ncbi-tools-x11, since libvibrant6 and libvibrant6a aren't coinstallable.

Bug#710997: iptables calls setsockopt incorrectly

2013-06-03 Thread LaMont Jones
Package: iptables
Version: 1.4.18-1
Tags: patch
--

Since time immemorial, iptables has called setsockopt() and treated any
-1 return value as fatal. Any system call can return EAGAIN or
EINPROGRESS (depending on the origins of the API), and good coding
practice requires checking for that and retrying or otherwise handling
it.

In the case of iptables, if multiple processes are calling iptables
concurrently, then it is likely that one of them will fail. I have seen
this with xen, as well as certain firewall configurations where the
firewall rules are added as triggered by interfaces being discovered and
configured.

The attached patch fixes the issue.

API-wise, there are a few added functions in libFLAC and libFLAC++,
but no existing functions have been removed or changed. Regarding the
ABI, I am not sure; but if the SHLIBS version is to be trusted, there
should not be any changes (went from 10:0:2 to 11:0:3 and from 8:0:2
to 9:0:3, respectively, so it is still libflac8 and libflac++6).

Sure? I've updated a bunch of nodes today, amongst some of them to
sid,... and I thought the problem was still the case there as well,..
maybe I mixed it up, though... sorry for the noise then :)

That's for upstream bugs (i.e. https://bugs.launchpad.net/apt). Unless
you've actually verified that it's an upstream bug, it's best to leave
it as an Ubuntu bug (i.e.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt). And in general one
should only forward bugs upstream from a distribution after doing enough
work to turn it into something that a developer can act on, anyway.

Bug#710991: xpra: some parts of windows can not be clicked after changing resolutions

2013-06-03 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Package: xpra
Version: 0.9.4+dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Steps to reproduce:
1) xpra attach ssh:server.example.com:7
2) change resolution of the client machine to 640x480 temporarily
   (e.g. in gnome System->Preferences->Monitors)
3) change the resolution back to normal

Expected results:
3) all parts of xpra windows can be accessed with mouse

Actual results:
3) only a 640x480 pixel area in the upper left corner of each window
is accessible.

More info:
1) The only workaround I have found so far is to disconnect and
   reattach xpra.
2) The xpra server log shows how xpra continues to think that the
resolution is 640x480 even after it has been set back to normal:

3) It seems that when I change the resolution from R1 to R2 xpra sets
the screen size to R1 and not R2! Here is a patch that fixes the

Bug#709343: gmt-coast-low: installs files with bogus owner+group

2013-06-03 Thread Hamish
Hi,

it's not in the package itself, it's in the included download
script:
  /usr/sbin/gmt-coastline-download

"""
echo $GET_HIGH && $GET_HIGH && tar xojvf $TMPDIR/GSHHS_high.tar.bz2 -C
$SHARE_DIR/coast --strip 2 share/coast
echo $GET_FULL && $GET_FULL && tar xojvf $TMPDIR/GSHHS_full.tar.bz2 -C
$SHARE_DIR/coast --strip 2 share/coast
"""

when tar is run as root it restores the UID,GID that were in the
tarball packager's system.

adding "--no-same-owner" to the tar command might help, but I'm
not sure if that gets the GID too.

the included "-o" flag should do that, but it no longer appears
in the Debian tar man page so maybe it went away? It is listed in
"Compatibility options" with "tar --help". Maybe -o not working
is the real bug there.

(you can see it listed in the FreeBSD man page,
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=tar)
