Bug#807811: notmuch-emacs: Support using gpg2 instead of gpg?
Package: notmuch-emacs Version: 0.18.1-2~bpo70+1 Severity: wishlist I'm storing my GPG key on a smart card, and this only work properly for me with the gpg2 binary in Debian. But notmuch-emacs do not use gpg2 for decryption, only gpg, and decryption fail. Would it be possible to change notmuch-emacs to try gpg2 first, and fall back to gpg if gpg2 is missing? Or if that is not possible, make the binary used optional, to allow me to select gpg2 instead of gpg? The notmuch-crypto.el script have several '(call-process "gpg"...' calls, but I do not know if it is enough to change those to decrypt the emails, as I do not see any commands for decrypting the email there. -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen

Bug#807777: ghc: Please adjust linker options for sparc64 (patch supplied)

Ok, this seems to be a bit more complicated as the linker settings have to be explicitly set in the ghc source code directly. I have tried building hscolour manually which initially works but eventually fails with: Language/Haskell/HsColour.hs:94:55: Warning: Tab character [ 1 of 16] Compiling Language.Haskell.HsColour.General ( Language/Haskell/HsColour/General.hs, dist-ghc/build/Language/Haskell/HsColour/General.p_o ) /usr/bin/ld: --relax and -r may not be used together collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [build-ghc-stamp] Error 1 /usr/share/cdbs/1/class/hlibrary.mk:147: recipe for target 'build-ghc-stamp' failed dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules build-arch gave error exit status 2 Full build log here [1]. Thus, we have to make sure that ghc does not just set "-Wl,-no-relax" when building itself but also when building any other Haskell sources. Or, alternatively, we could try to convince the gcc/binutils developers to fix the behavior of gcc/binutils when "-Wl,-r" are set. Apparently, this could be interpreted as a bug in gcc which actually sets "-no-relax" when "-r" is passed but not when "-Wl,-r" is passed. qemu is affected by the same problem, see [2]. Anyone on the Debian sparc mailing list with an idea? Yeah, using 'file' command to guess mime type was not a good idea. I've removed this code. This error message no longer applies with the git version of licensecheck. Bug#807564: digikam: FTBFS, cannot find Marble
Hello List, I'm looking into this aswell, since I want to use digikam again and got some free time to fix it. I hope I can provide a source-patch in the next few days that allows the currently packaged version of digikam to build again. In case I get it to work, where do I send the patch? It would affect both #807564 and #802966 since they both say FTBFS (although for different reasons). Cheers, - Danny

Bug#807821: spamassassin: spamc --headers breaks multipart messages
Package: spamassassin Version: 3.4.1-3 Severity: normal Hi, "spamc --headers" should not alter Content-Type header. When spamd is confugured to add report to messages the resulting Content-Type is something like Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="--=_566D759A.5F0A72E0" Replacing this header in the original message breaks it, especially when the message is multipart itself, since the boundary is changed.

And also by adding a lintian check. I'm currently undergoing a sprint to push this to an end, I'm down to ~80 packages still affected, a handful already in deferred, and if I continue with this pace I'm going to NMU/team upload all of them by the end of the next week or so. We came to a point where I think the number of affected packages is not going down by itself, since most of the packages have either the maintianer that is de-facto MIA or the package is de-facto orphaned. So I ask for permission to bump all those bugs to severity:serious, and move on; that way I'll have the excuse to ask for RM: RoQA for a couple of packages without feeling too guilty... PS: let me guess, should this bug be reassigned to ftp-master for RM? since you already stated -release is not the right place for this, and a transition tracker is not really needed in this case. -- regards, Mattia Rizzolo GPG Key: 66AE 2B4A FCCF 3F52 DA18 4D18 4B04 3FCD B944 4540 .''`. more about me: http://mapreri.org : :' : Launchpad user: https://launchpad.net/~mapreri `. `'` Debian QA page: https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=mattia `- signature.asc Description: PGP signature

Bug#807675: More failures apparently unrelated to "SCU Failed: 0006:0213 Data dictionary missing"
Using the latest version of DCMTK, I'm unable to reproduce the error in a freshly-updated sid pbuilder running on jessie, so the following diagnosis is a bit of a guesswork. The "Address already in use" message points to an already-running DICOM server on port 2, which prohibits running the tests correctly and causes the build process to fail. This could be caused by a DICOM server running on your builders, but is most likely something left over from a previous build of DCMTK++. The errors running "make test" are to be expected: in tests/run.sh, we set up a few things for the networking tests without which the mentioned tests fail. I've patched the package to fix this bug (should upload soon) and will try to improve the robustness of the tests upstream. Bug#776697: Debian Bug #776697 inux-image-3.16.0-4-686-pae: Boot randomly stucks at a stage
Hello, is there any progress regarding this bug? I've updated my system yesterday, from debian wheezy to jessie and run into the same problem (hanging boot process). My board and CPU is the same as Tobias Frost's. Board: Jetway JNF9C-2600-LF CPU: Atom N2600 (1,6 GHz) I've tried Kernel 4.2 from jessie backports, without luck. Same problem. Currently I'm using jessie with Kernel 3.2 (3.2.0-4-686-pae) from wheezy. Jessie Kernel linux-image-3.16.0-4-586 boots, but with this kernel arch (586) there is just 1 CPU core available, so ...-686-pae is necessary. Instead of Tobias, I'm using arch 686-pae, like Jerome. -- Thomas

Bug#807830: arm: -fstack-protector-strong adds dependency on ld-linux-aarch64.so.1 on arm64
Package: gcc-5 Version: 5.3.1-3 Severity: normal Hello, I'm not sure if gcc is the right package to report this problem for, but not knowing it better I picked gcc, please reassign if needed. In the buildlog of memtool on arm64[1] I found a message: dpkg-shlibdeps: warning: package could avoid a useless dependency if debian/memtool/usr/sbin/memtool was not linked against ld-linux-aarch64.so.1 (it uses none of the library's symbols) This is surprising because ld-linux-aarch64.so.1 isn't mentioned explicitly and it should only be pulled in when needed: (sid_arm64-dchroot)ukleinek@asachi:~$ cat /usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libc.so /* GNU ld script Use the shared library, but some functions are only in the static library, so try that secondarily. */ OUTPUT_FORMAT(elf64-littleaarch64) GROUP ( /lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 /usr/lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/libc_nonshared.a AS_NEEDED ( /lib/aarch64-linux-gnu/ld-linux-aarch64.so.1 ) ) The same problem (of course with a different lib name) is logged in the armhf and armel build logs. This is reproducible on asachi.debian.org in a sid chroot and only if -fstack-protector-strong is passed: (sid_arm64-dchroot)ukleinek@asachi:~$ cat test.c #include #include int main(int argc, char **argv) { char *end; unsigned long long val = strtoull(argv[1], , 0); printf("Hello World! %llu\n", val); return EXIT_SUCCESS; } (sid_arm64-dchroot)ukleinek@asachi:~$ gcc -fstack-protector-strong -o test test.c; objdump -p test | grep NEEDED NEEDED libc.so.6 NEEDED ld-linux-aarch64.so.1 (sid_arm64-dchroot)ukleinek@asachi:~$ gcc -o test test.c; objdump -p test | grep NEEDED NEEDED libc.so.6 I would expect that adding -fstack-protector-strong shouldn't introduce a useless dependency to ld-linux-aarch64.so.1. So either this dependency is unused (in which case there is something wrong in the linker) or dpkg-shlibdeps' diagnose is wrong (then dpkg-shlibdeps should be fixed and this bug reassigned accordingly). There are a few other pending things to fix, so I think that it would be better that either Alberto or I get around to work on this and fix the issues in a single upload, so the less powerfull arches are not taxed too much. The removal from testing will happen in a month, so there should be plenty of time. But if for some reason we do not upload in ~10 days and you want to finish the transition, and the NMU includes the mentioned patches, it's OK for me (I suppose that also for Alberto, if he doesn't reply). While working on the "reproducible builds" effort [1], we have noticed that graphite2 could not be built reproducibly. It is generating pdf documentation by calling asciidoc, which uses dblatex to generate the file. Bug#807827: evolution shortcut keys not working
Package: evolution Version: 3.18.2-1 When starting Evolution all is fine. The delete key works as expected or pression [.] goes to next unread message. After some time (sorry no really pattern about when it happens) the keys shortcut are not working. That is I cannot delete a key (nothing happen) or move to next message. I can make this working again sometime by double-clicking on a message. This opens a new window. I then close it and the key are back to working. Sadly even this is working half time. The only real workaround is to close Evolution and open it again. This is quite annoying. I would say that this is "recent", maybe since the move to 3.18. To me it looks like the view listing the threads is loosing the focus. Let me know if you need more information. Current status: 5.22.1 is still looking likely in the next few days. As of now this bug is blocked by the following: #807492: libmath-bigint-gmp-perl: FTBFS on 32 bit platforms This is a fairly new bug and there is a fix pending - we would ideally get some feedback from upstream, but if not we can upload it at around the same time as perl. As I already mentioned, redhat-cluster currently FTBFS, and has done since August, so I don't think we should block on that. Emilio, do you agree with this assessment? If so can we upload 5.22.1 to unstable when it's released? I think we should probably do a d-d-a mail either now or at the time of the upload, so I'll do that once you give the go-ahead. Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: jessie User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA512 I'd like to upload libencode-perl to s-p-u to fix #799086 (cf. also #798727 for the perl core variant). The patch is taken from upstream's 2.77 release and changes the behaviour of decode() in the absence of a BOM: previously it died, now it assumes BE accordingly to RFC2781 and the Unicode Standard version 8.0. Bug#708181: requests password to boot

It has been forwarded upstream with a patch on March 2014, but it seems to have received no reply from upstream yet. Could someone urge upstream to review the patch and apply it, please? This "all or nothing" support for GRUB passwords is really frustrating: I would like to restrict (with a password) the ability to edit menu entries, without restricting the ability to select the menu entries. As previously said, this is not currently possible (without locally patching /etc/grub.d/* stuff). I really hope this annoying regression may be fixed soon. Thanks for your time! Bug#807793: sisu: sisu-mode.el install to site-lisp
Kevin, thank you for your feedback. It is very helpful. I do not know enough about emacs packaging, though I have started to really enjoy using it (with vim bindings and evil-mode (and look forward to trying spacemacs)). I together with Ambrose Kofi Laing assigned an earlier version of the file to the FSF, and see them and maintenance of it ultimately as upstream, so I am obliged to forward it to them. Which I intend to and shall do. There are a few things that ought to be done with the file before its submission though. With respect to Debian packaging or interaction with the installed Debian package, I have a couple of questions. Should not file deposits to /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/sisu-mode.el be co-ordinated with the debian-emacs team? What is the protocol? I will look up email, do they have an IRC presence? I am out a fair bit these days and will be quite busy, but would like to see that this is sorted. Thank you. You want to be able to support forwarding to two places. I doubt that this is a worthwhile idea, but in any case it would firts need to be fixed in the Debian bugs system.
